Hello,

First of all I would like to say that you are without a doubt one of the premier guitarist on this planet! Your style and grace on the guitar is out of this world. I have enjoyed your music for years. As a guitar player myself, I wish I had 1/10th of the talent that you do!!! A question I would like to ask is, For someone who's been playing for about 15 years but isn't where he would like to be in his playing format, What would be some pointers you could give to me to excel my playing ability? I practice mostly around Metallica's style, But on the other hand, I have dewelled into some country and main stream as well as hardcore music like Vision Of Disorder. I know it also requires alot of practice time but with a family of 5, There's not alot of time available with work and everything else involved. I am more of a rhythm player than a lead guitarist. I have been in a small "garage band" before, But nothing serious. I would like to be able to play in a group well enough to go around to different places and really enjoy music. My gear is as follows... A Peavy Predator (Strat Style) guitar and a Peavy Audition 110 amp (Just a practice amp). I am trying to upgrade my equipment but due to finances that is taking a while.If you have any suggestion I would really appreciate it.

Thanks so much for the music!

Stoney71!

I'm gonna be performing at a couple cafes pretty soon here, solo guitar that is. I've some tunes and jazzy blues jams together, but I need more material. If anyone has some good ideas for stuff to play at cafe, PLEASE EMAIL me. I'd of course love to play tunes by Joe, Dream Theater, and some of my own stuff, but I don't think the cafe goers or workers would be to pleased. Plus I'm only playing solo.

ya yo- as long as your correct name (as on any id you'd show the box office) is in your profile, that's all that is needed. you don't need to share that info with everyone else by making it "public" in your profile. we can access it from the database :}

Thanks for making the decision to come to Michigan again this year Joe! The only thing that is a bummer is that KINGS X, And DREAM THEATRE, are sharing the bill. I was hoping for a total "SOLO" show. I will still be there at DTE to see you though. It was nice meeting you last year also.

JOE - I can't wait the release of SBM ... And I'm happy to see you at the Olympia at Paris. But i had to find a lot of monnaie (I mean 50€ approximatly 50 $). I don't understand why, because when you go in Caen (France) with the G3 (Patrick Rondat, Michael Schenker) the 7th of June 1998 it was about 25€ approximatly 25 $ ! Never mind 'cause i will be able to give more monnaie to see you !!! I really enjoy your music and you are so devoted to your music that i just can say : THANK YOU !!!! :) (Sorry for my poor english, you know I'm french !)

michelle - Today is the first day of summer? Dang...I was planning on requesting Summer Song on the radio on this day, but it krept up on me. Oh well.

anibur - The CDs are actually shipped to all of the stores early. I'd imagine most stores already have them. Here in the US, record companies are VERY strict about the Tuesday release policy. If a chain store (Wal Mart, Best Buy, etc.) stocks a CD earlier than the Tuesday release date, record companies "punish" them sometimes by not giving them as many shipments in other locations for future releases. They don't pay as much attention to the small, locally owned stores, though, which is why they're put out early like in your case. Lucky you...when you get the CD, let us know about the bonus track situation...ok?

webmaster - Thanks for working on the newsletter. It's great that you keep us up to date on your progress with it, but at the same time it stinks because we have to WAIT another day or two before we can read it...LOL. ;-)

PJH - I'm pretty sure the European tour is set in stone. It looks like there is an opening on either the 4th or the 6th, but any added show would be around Italy, not Scandinavia. It kinda sucks. A lot of us have a similar problem here in the US... I saw Joe in Sacramento on the EOC tour (opening night) but now I have to drive a few hours down to Concord (San Francisco) to see him. I know it's not the same...but still.

ethn - Check your email. :-)

Ya Yo Gakk - Just have your regular name listed. It doesn't have to be made public, Jon is the man...he sees all and knows all that goes on at www.satriani.com, whether you make it public or not. ;-) Basically, the note is there so that your profile says your real name instead of "Joe Rocks!" or "SBM Rules"...

Hey everyone, I got my radio station to play Mindstorm today. I called in and they said they'd try, normally that means they don't even bother, but they actually played it about 2 hours after I requested it. Thats awesome!!

The listening party sounds cool, but i'll be busy all of the 25th listening to my copy of SBM. I'll check it out the next day or something.

There is a pretty cool little web-game called The Rock Star Game. Everyone should go check it out. The regular link is www.rockstargame.com. But if you want to help me out, sign up here. http://www.rockstargame.com/?Referer=26743

webmaster - Would it be possible for you to put the "There's New News!" notification in the drop down list when there's new news, like you had it on the old site?

thewatcher - The bonus track stuff isn't up to Joe. Sony decides all of that. Other countries get bonus tracks because the way the world economy works. It's cheaper for people in other countries to buy the US versions of albums...so the bonus tracks are there to get people to buy the local version.
