joe im a guitarist and love your music. i can play a couple of
songs mystical potatoe and the forgotten part two. my question is im going to get a new amp soon and wounderd
what you use. ive been thinking of marshall half stack or
mesa boogie quarter stack. i want to try and get my sound as close to yours as i possibly can. so if you could give a clue as to what you use that would be great.
p.s. i plan on attending your concert on aug 30th at the
d.t.e. music theater would love a back stage pass
thank you marlboro32b

Don't know if Joe will get to read this or not but...
Joe, heard the new album early... I think the best song on it is 'Oriental Melody'. That song is one of your best. Great sound to it and great Vibe. I would love to see you do more like this one in the future as well as more like 'Flying in a Blue Dream'!

New website looks really cool...any chance of getting some tabs etc up on it? More importantly, just looked at Joes tour dates for Europe...why is Scotland ignored? No Edinburgh or Glasgow (or anywhere else in Scotland) shows? Any chance of getting a show put on up here?[b] PLEASE????[b]

Hey, can anyone shed some light on why Joe is not making a stop in Montreal on his tour, seeing how it's on the way from Toronto to Quebec City.. is there a grudge or just no fan base?

wow...this is way too difficult to keep up on, 50+ pages already....not enough time in a day.
Just my two cents: If I were a musician like Joe, I would want to tour with other musicians that motivated me, or that I respected highly for their talent. Say what you will about King's X and/or Dream Theater, but you have to admit, both bands are passionate, killer musicians. To those of you who don't get this..... I'm curious as to whom you'd rather see Joe tour with..... Master Yoda: LOL, pretty damn funny!
later...

Please come to Saratoga Springs, NY (SPAC). I'm sure you realize your following in other-than-highly-populated location's. You would be sold out upstate in about 45 minutes...and this venue is particularly suited for your style and crowd.
Thanks for listening and providing this forum...

Well, I read in the newsletter that Joe is going to play "CRUSHING DAY" on tour....that should be very interesting.
I do wonder though, if he will leave out some of the runs in that song. I know it's problaly his hardest song and I know he would have trouble with it most of the time...unless he's really just been working on it.
It's no secret though, that Joe might have a hard time tackling it as done on the album 'Surfing'. That's the reason he never plays it out now....should be interesting nonetheless.

paradigm, this is true, but Joe never adds a song to his set, unless he can nail it to the floor. I think we'll all be blown away...

I hear that Joe does a workshop for guitarists once a year. You get to learn from him, hang with him and jam with him. I can think of nothing I would rather do other than see my band make it big. Can I get some details about this workshop? What it takes to qualify, how much it costs, where it's held? It would be an absolute dream come true for me to meet, learn from, and jam with the greatest guitarist in the world.

Yo Joe and webmaster, great site, looking good. I was very very pleased to hear you're coming to Holland but then I found out that your tourdate is exactly on my holiday in Portugal, talking about a major bummer. I was really looking forward to it.. all night long nothing but Joe, what else do you want. Then I hoped that you're comming to Portugal but no.. Now I hope you have a fantastic time in Holland and hopefully till next year.. keep up the great work (as usual)

Satch:
I know you've got a load on your mind right now, but I wanted to bring to your attention a new facility here in Columbus that is an awesome inside/outside (option) venue. It's called the Promowest Pavilion, and is next to our new NHL arena. It would be an ideal venue for you to hit in September when you're passing thru Cleveland, and our NHL team does a lot of promotional tie ins to the venue in conjunction with home hockey games.
Anyway, it's new and much nicer than the other venues you've played in the past (what is up with a parking lot anyway?). You'd have no issues selling it out and you'd have a fired up crowd for sure.
Best wishes with the new release...I'm getting it tomorrow am.
Take care.

Hey Joey (ahhhhh you must hate that),
I just wanna tell you that the new album is....well it's beautifull. It might even be the best one you ever did. It's THAT amazing. Just when I think I know you, you put out this album and astound me once more with sheer technical brillance, originality, and just amazing songs. I hail you.
Anyway, I do have something to ask, and I think that maybe the people who read this can answer this too so, please do....people who read this.
Why does everbody always "booo" Stu Hamm at gigs? What did he do wrong? TELL ME!!!!! I cried for him you know....well not really, but you see the point.
Ok well Joe, see ya in Amsterdam, and also, please do throw a lot of pics in the audience, especially to the guy with the Marillion T-Shirt :). Later!
Dylan

Jake the dog is right about PromoWest Pavillion. I have never been to a show there that hasn't sold out, an it is downtown Columbus, Not like the parking lot event on the Crystal Planet tour with the rain and thunder and lightning.....It is brand new you need to check it out. It probably wouldn't be expensive, to book either, and we have had alot of big names there. You would sell it out in no time....... You could hit it after the Cleveland show................

Hi Joe. Thought I was going to be very disappointed today as I looked on your web site and it said that the new CD was out on the 25th June . However went down HMV to get the new Robert Plant CD (big Zep Fan) and low and behold yours was there (and it is the 24th). I am now at home and am listening (Sorry Robert but Satch comes first) and it is FANTASTIC. Love Starry Night but there are also some GREAT other tracks on it.
As for a previous posting I saw; how about an extra date in London and a CD signing. Come on ..... you know you want to.
Anyway, great to see the CD is a good as I hoped and good luck with everything you do.
Cheers
Jimbo.
PS Great new site.

Dear Joe,
I'm excited to hear the new album! I am totally disappointed that I don't see any tour dates for the Pacific Northwest/Seattle area. G3 didn't have any last summer either. I would go to a show anywhere from Vancouver, BC to Portland, OR or anywhere in between. Plus I'd get to see King's X and Dream Theater too!!!
I hope to see you on tour this time around!

Joe, how do you come up with the names for your songs? I have an instrumental that I can't seem to name. I try and find a name that goes with the feel of the song but I'm having trouble. At first it's happy and carefree like alot of your music but then it shifts into a more serious melody one I can't describe. The only thing I can really think about is that it would be a good driving tune for a nice sunny day, but if I were to think of the inspiration for the song it came from that nervous feeling you get from being around a girl you really like but are scared she'll reject you. Can anyone help?
PS: I AGREE WITH DAVE ROYS, ANYWHERE BETWEEN PORTLAND AND VANCOUVER WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!

Joe: the 100k link has some buffering problems, but I got to hear "Mind Storm" thru the better modem link. Awsome!
Great to hear that you are having fun! I would hate to think this could be a drag for you. Looking forward to the 'Listening party'. I'll do my best to be there, when I'm not looking for work.
