PhrygDom - Well, I sent an e-mail to the trouble shooting thingy at Yahoo! and am stull awaiting a reply. The thing is, if it's totally f*cked, then I won't get a reply... lol. Perhaps I'll just have to open a new account with somone else.
Local Dude and Matt King - I just saw that scale (Phrygian Dominant #7, double harmonic minor, blah blah...) referred to as the Gypsy scale in a book called "The Art of Joe Satriani". The precise quote is this: Some of Satriani's other favourites include the Hindu scale (1 2 3 4 5 b6 b7), the Gypsy scale (1 b2 3 4 5 b6 7), the Dorian #4 (1 2 b3 #4 5 6 b7), and the Hungarian scale (1 #2 3 #4 5 6 b7). I knew it had another name... By the way, the Hindu scale (also known as Mixolydian b6) is interesting. As soon is IUMA is up and running again I'll be posting a new tune using that scale. It's very cool...
I had my last ever exam yesterday afternoon - it was Music A2. I'm a free man!!!!!!!!!!!!! Until results day, on August 15th anyway...

The gipsy scale is another name for double harmonic then.. i know that they call phrygian dominant the spanish scale as well... there are lots of names for the same scale often.

Hey Joe!
I see that you're doing three gigs in the UK but none of them are in bonnie Scotland. I used to be able to rely on you to come to Scotland at keast once per tour. Are there any plans for new tour dates, including Scotland?
Cheers
Alan

It was the worst idea ever to make a gig in Berlin when the Love-Parade is up! (13 july 2002)
It was the only time i could visit a concert of Satch and in that situation there was no way to get a room in any hotel in Berlin. So could you tell your management to think a little more about the locations?
So there's only one possibility left - buy that new cd 2 days later on, that may solace me...

Local Dude - Nah, I did the OCR paper. Good job too, given Edexcel's performance this year... lol. I hope your girlfriend did well with hers. Mine went pretty well, except the first extract on the tape was of a particularly poor quality and I had to complete the bass part on the score, BUT I COULDN'T F*CKING HEAR IT COZ THE TAPE WAS SO SH*TTY! lol. Anyway, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger...
Joe - Just thought I'd say how much I'm enjoying your column in Guitar World. Your's and Mr Vai's were the best they've had since I've been a reader. Zakk Wylde's is pretty cool, and OH MY GOD THERE'S A T.V.R. TUSCAN PARKED JUST DOWN THE ROAD FROM MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! so was Kirk Hammett's. Anyways, just thought I'd show my appreciation. Looking forward to the new album...
L8rs, Neil.

Joe, any interest in doing a show in Minneapolis on Saturday September 28th in conjunction with the CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) show? Philips Consumer Electronics is interested in sponsoring such a show highlighting your involvement in releasing albums in the new high resolution SACD format. We have been involved in such sponsorships at this show in the past. We are the co-creator of the SACD format and will be demonstrating the technology at this show.

Happy belated dad's day to all the dads on line.
Natalina - I'm answering the food question now, If I had to think of Joe as food he would be CHOCOLATE of course, moreish, very tasty no matter what time of day, it's great eaten quick, slow, melted, straight from the fridge in fact any way you like really and is as versatile as Joe's fab music and you never get tired of it. Is that enough. ha ha
JOE - we love the blue stuff. Counting the days till we see you next month.
Person playing live - sorry can't remember your name, too many posts, anyway, to prevent nerves playing live I was told once to imagine the audience naked, works every time. ha ha. You must have heard this one.
Anibur - what new job have you got, it has to be more exciting than mine.
Bye for now everybody, somebody has to cook dinner around here, Joe's music is on and Up In The Sky is blasting out of my speakers. LOL Sharon
