I am no one special, but I would like to bring up a subject that seems to keep popping up constantly in the forum. So many people are talking about how Joe should not have went on tour with Dream Theater. I just wanted to give a little education about Dream Theater. Dream Theater is made up of 5 truly talented individuals. First and foremost in my opinion, there is John Petrucci. Now anybody who had heard about the outcome of the last G3 tour, or if you were also so fortunate to have gotten to see, you would know that John Petrucci absolutly took the crowd by surprise. He was unbelievable with his inhuman like speed on his riffs, and blew the roof off right with Vai, and Satch. John went to Berklee for some lessons which is where he met Mike Portnoy, and John Myung. Mike Portnoy has been named one of the top drummers in the world, and his precision is uncanny. John Myung is a highly intricuit bass player. His passion, and love for his instrument is what gives him his greatness. Jordan Rudess plays his keyboard like Joe plays Chrome Boy. He can transcribe virtually any guitar solo into keyboard, and harmonize with John, to make the coolest duo i've seen. I will be honest, James LaBrie does have a different sound to his voice than most singers, but it is this that gives Dream Theater their distinct sound. If you have tried listening to Dream Theater, and really can't get into them, try "Liquid Tension Experiment 1 & 2". This is a side project with Mike, John, Jordan, and Tony Levin. It is nothing but instrumental bliss. I am sorry if I have upset anyone, and sorry about the length of the post. I personally am awe'd by Dream Theater, and I can't wait to see them and Satch Master jam, and I just wanted to throw my little bit of info to everyone to possibly open minds. If I am wrong on any of this info, or you would like to tell me how you feel, post a message. If there are any other fans out there feel free to Email me.

Thanks

JS Clone 1 - I guess you can buy it from cdnow.com or amazon.com, right?

KriztalPlanet - I'd say most people here love Dream Theater. If we had to choose a band to tour with Joe, DT band would probably be a top choice among the fans here. While it will be a great tour, most of us are bummed that we won't get as much live music from Joe. In the past we've been used to 2 1/2 - 3 hours of Satch...this time around we'll only be getting 90 minutes.

I edited my setlist to my top 12 to hear in a concert, even thought i won't be going. Sall right though. none of the new ones aren't on there, mostly because i haven't heard them yet. itll probably change once i buy the cd. Summer song is no cake walk. im a little frazzled by a couple parts but im slowly getting it. no offense, but i think woodstock jam is joe's worst song. it's boring lengthy repetitive. but one in a hundred that are good one's ain't bad. can't get seven string and mindstorm out of my head. they're pretty cool. but i can't believe not a lot of people know of joe. i ask a lot of people and even guitarist about him and they don't know. ive introduced him to a couple people and they said they've enjoyed the music. crystal planet is my favorite cd i've decided. on a more opinionated note, im glad joe's settled down. i saw a picture of him in a magazine with the top 100 guitar solos and he was pretty wierd-lookin. that's all for now. later.

Hey Joe/Webmaster,

I agree about the sweatshirts. I really would love one!

2 days to SBM!!!!!!!

Hey, I'm learning Day at the Beach right now. It's so cool... So addictive!

Does anyone know where I can get one of those Whammy pedals Joe talks about in his LISF dvd? I got my guitar catalog (Musician's Friend) yesterday and it's not in there. My local music stores I'm pretty sure don't carry it. Help me out? Thanx.

MinD StoRM kicks azz.

Peace

GUITAR ART......go to www.musiciansfriend.com...there is a search bar on the top left part of the screen...type in 150171A and click "go" or "search".....I dont know why it's not in the recent issue, maybe they go by what they sell the most of....who knows? I bought one a couple of months ago and everyone is completely blown away when I use it on stage....its worth every penny! Although I've been told that I should look for an original '94 on E Bay because they supposedly sound better than the new ones....You should be aware that with the new ones there is a slight delay when the unit is turned on (only a fraction of a second), and barely noticable. It's only annoying to me when I'm tuning up, so I just turn it off...lol....Good Luck!!!

Its Stu Not Boo, Ethn, And Michelle: Thank you for your feedback it feels good to have the same likings as as others. Michelle, I posted about this before, but I'll post it again to see if it helps you. I seen that Houston tickets were goin on presale on the 18 earlier this week, instead of having to wait till the 22nd. I went on there and waited, and when the page activated, all it said was "These tickets are only available through AllAccess.cc, or something similar to that, and it gave a link. I clicked on it, and it was through Clear Channel communications, and you had to pay $60 a year to take advantage of this. Well I wanted to see Joe bad, and I go to quite a few concerts, so I figured what the hell? I went through, and signed up, and it said ok, now that you've chosen your tickets, you need to remember this password, or passcode, something like that, and I was like concentrating on the passcode tryingto remember it for sure. There was a link to go back to ticketmaster, I clicked on the link and it brought up a totally different ticketmaster page, nad said "Presale Member". I didn't even need the password, I guess it logged me in. I ended up getting 12th row, and all 5 tickets in one place like I wanted. I'm happy, even though it was not as close as I was at G3. Hope you find this useful. I think it sucks that you have to sign up with something to get that advantage, but I'd pay anything to see Joe, or Dream Theater, and totally if in one concert. I'll probibly cry like a damn baby when I have to leave the concert... LOL

Take Care

PLUM LOCO Man that blows!!! Canadian SBM release date September. .... Ok so if I order the Jap release of SBM, will it be exactly the same as the North American release but with the bonus tracks? What will the difference be if I order the US release of SBM?? I NEED IT ASAP! I haven't heard a single thing yet!!!!!!!!!!

Guitar Art - Greg Howe is good but I say if you really want 3 guitarist to come together with something amazing on stage, PAUL GILBERT is the guy who'll live up to that.

Kirztal Planet - Ok so you like Dream Theater, but I would still rather see Joe play a 3 hour solo set. I want to hear all the classics broght back and 90 minutes won't be enough to cover all the old and new tunes many of us are waiting to hear. And you said you can't wait to see DT and Joe jam on stage. Are they actually playing together because as far as I know, they each get seperate 90 minute sets and one of them closes the show depending on what side of NA they are on. Hey, I like DT but not quite enough to see them live. Yes they're great musicians but it doesn't mean everyone HAS TO love the fact they're playing show with Joe. .............. As long as CRUSHING DAY and a few other classics such as MEMORIES and HORDES OF LOCUSTS are brought back, they can do whatever they want.

Kriztal Planet, thanks for the info. I knew it was those Clear Channel bastards. The thing is, I don't go to enough concerts to throw down an extra $60 a year, nor can I afford it. Every show I've been to so far had no presale ca-ca attached to them, which would have been a total waste of that $60 bucks. This is the first time I've come across it, and it figures, it would be the best show ever.

If anybody would be kind enough on Monday morning to share the password for the Tweeter Center show, my email is shelg64@hotmail.com (that's IF the password can even be shared by a non-member)

JS Clone 1, did you see the G3 show with Petrucci & Portnoy? That was only 2/5 of the band! When you have them all together it's awesome! We seen DT for the first time back in March and they put on a KILLER show. The crowd was amazing ~ literally hanging from the rafters! I understand wanting to see Joe for the full show (who wouldn't), but this is like having Captain Morgan with that lonely bottle of gingerale :) lol! or for you youngin's, iceing on the cake.

You don't "have to" love the fact that their playing together, nobody does, but hopefully you'll change your tune after you see them play.

the Dance of Eternity anyone?

KriztalPLanet ___ I agree on some points, but in my opinion, John Petrucci can't solo worth crap. Thats the only thing that was dissapointing at the G3 Jam, Joe and Steve just SMOKED John Petrucci when it came to the solos. This my opinion, anyone else agree?

Michelle - Funny you should mention The Dance of Eternity. That's my fave DT/LTE song i've heard yet. Yes I did see G3 2001 and I thought John's solos did not fit the music at all. He still did the same speed picking shred licks for the ZZ Top cover and Hendrix. DID NOT fit at all. Now Joe and Steve made their solos work. Although still fast and at times did get pretty crazy, they meshed very well. John's great but his style only fits his music.

Musical Mania/Local Person - Yeah John did not fit at all. Read the above portion of my post.
