Finally a few posts from regulars. I was beginning to think all the newbies were taking over. Nice to see everyone getting interested in the music...I decided to hold out for a Northwest concert date. I really could have snagged some awesome tickets for the Concord show, but it's a little too far away from Portland.
Stress Management Play guitar at full volume waking neighbors and killing small animals. Playing "Them Bones" is always a stress releaver.
I've also started reading Hyperion because I've heard good things about it from you guys. It's a bit difficult to get into at first, but I will be patient with it.

I like the food question, hmmm.....I think a piece of really good, rich chocolate with a glass of red wine or port to boot. Someting that I relax with, take in slow and that lingers well after its finished. My mouth is now watering. Hi Joe. Peace all, Linda xo

Joe- Very excited for new album. Thanks for the sneak peeks at the songs. What inspired you to use an acoustic guitar so much on this album? Do you find yourself turning to other instruments than your trademark JS for different ways of expression?

Honestly, Joe Satriani ... the new site's been up for nearly a week and still no blue text. I guess we've been a little spoiled this summer so far. Expecting too much from you.
If I win aftershow passes, I will forget all about it! : )

The Local Person - Yeah, some of that stuff was nuts (what they did to Cobi Jones or whatever his name is). He's the guy that they pinned in the corner, hit in the back, and stepped on his calf...right? I also thought some of the taunting Mexico was getting into was a little too much. If the only way you can win is by provoking the other team into getting yellow and red cards, it's pretty sad. Putting all of the physical stuff aside, though, Mexico played a great game.
gruskada - I don't think you can request Mind Storm because right now I think Starry Night is the only song radio stations have (the single). I think you have to wait until June 25. As far as why Joe usually picks the softer songs for singles...think about it. Mind Storm would only get played on rock stations. But something like Starry Night or Always... would get rock stations, as well as pop, jazz, etc. More people have a chance to hear Joe if a softer song is released.
Valdir - Additional Creations was only available in a few stores in the US. It isn't available anymore, but you should be able to find one on ebay for about $10.
...Austin...

Mr. Satch!
I can't wait to hear your new album!!! I'm waiting till the release date with great anticipation!!!
As your site has asked, I've been calling my local rock radio station and requested "Starry Night" on several occassions.
Look man, my radio channel can BITE IT! They'll play tons of crap and the minute you call and ask them to play your stuff - they get an attitude!! That really blows!
So... I'm gonna need some help! I'm still calling them but I think they know my voice now and could care less what I think.
They are called 94.5 KATS www.katsfm.com.
But, I'll keep trying - just lookin' for some help!
By the way, I'm totally stoked to check out your show in L.A. (I scored 12th row seats (row L/sec A) when this show went on sale) at the Greek Theatre on Aug. 10th!! I have to drive about 1,200 miles or so - but I would have driven further!! Too bad your not coming to The Gorge here in Washington. It's a beautiful venue!
Best wishes to you and your crew! Hope the tour is successful one!!
Pete (aka. guitaurus)

This is a nice site but my only question is. Is there a chance to have you come to North Carolina and put on a show at the New river Air Station for the Military that don't get a chance to go to many concerts?

Kroper2k2 To scream like Joe takes a lot of practice, but here is how I do it. It's basically a pinch harmonic created with the pick and thumb 3 to 4 inches from the bridge. There are several harmonics in that area. Joe usually does this on 2 or 3 strings at the same time.
The first step is to find one harmonic on the G string that you can make consistently. Practice this till you have mastered it.
The second part is divebombing your whammy bar. Joe does this by reaching under the neck, pulling the bar down while striking the harmonic with the right hand. Then he quickly pushes the whammy bar up with his left hand causing the harmonic to scream. Remember he does this on several strings, but try it with one first.
Pick attack is everything for this technique and you should master that first before divebombing. Hope that helps. It's good to know that Joe doesn't always do this cleanly and sometimes misses the harmonic completely. It's rare but I have seen it happen. It still sounds cool anyway.

Hey PhryDom: see? Female perseverance can get everything (almost!). Other 3 answers, at the moment… You made me laugh with those words to ThoseGuys!!! Can you play any Joe’s piece on your “geetar”? You bought food for one cat you didn’t own? Long time ago I fed twelve (yes, twelve,12!) cats I didn’t own! All at the same time…
I lent Live in SF to my brother, he never listened to Joe, hope he’ll like that cd! If not, I won’t consider him a brother anymore!
A great CIAO to you all. Drink espresso tomorrow and support Italy!
