I hardly think I posted obsenities! I posted an opinion, one which I stand by. Joe surveyed his fans as to what they wanted, and he put out just the opposite.

IBZTONE - I went out of whammy aswell. I only play my standard bridge Ibanez. Springs at max tension. Can't whammy unless you're The Incredible Hulk.

Alien32/Hansman- Beautiful Choices. Clouds is inhuman. Trundrumbalind messes with my head near the end.

KB1 - Have you only listened to the samples? The songs would most likely get heavier throughout. Have you listened to Mind Storm. That apparently is not easy lsitening as you have said.

ibztone and jsclone1 thanx for your help, i have never had any problems with my floyd rose so when my lo-pro edge craped out i was surprised. i am going to rip it apart and clean and set it up(i have done this before) i was just making sure that all of the edge trems do not do this(my RG7620 trem is solid as a rock and i have never broken a string on it) once again thanx for your help

KB1 have you heard Mind Storm? New Last Jam? How can you say these are not rock? What the hell is wrong with you?

KB1 - Interesting thoughts... What don't you like about the self-titled album? It's one of my favorites. And yes...Engines Of Creation is different, but it's still good. Both of those albums are an acquired taste...how many times have you listened to them? Have you listened to the SBM samples on this site? I don't see how you can describe SBM as being "easy listening". There's a lot of rock on the album... Mind Storm, Seven String, New Last Jam... Even if you listen to some of the slower songs (Chords Of Life, for example), they pick up the pace right as the song fades out. I'd wait until you hear the complete songs before you give such a negative opinion...

...Austin...

I agree with you Matt. What I don't understand is why people NEED to complain about something they haven't listened to YET ! On the site you can find SAMPLES, so dammit, wait till the 25th, go to the cd shop, give the new CD a spin, and then you decide wether you like it or not !

Every Satch cd is Joe's BEST EFFORT in a different direction, I don't know many artists that put so much dedication to each new album. And at least for that, you have to respect his work.

I'm tired of people saying 'we want "summer song", we want "Always" ...' Joe is playing them EVERYTIME so maybe you should go out and listen to some other songs, because all of Joe's repertoire is filled with great music and ideas, sometimes it just takes more than one listen to appreciate it fully.

Peace to all

KB1, how can you say "shit" is not an obscenity? (sorry about the spelling) And I don't think Joe cares that you don't like different things, personally, I'm tired of 'Surfing' and 'Summer Song', as I've listened to them an insane amount of times.

Gruskada --- sollid reply!! great answer, i agree with Satch 3D!!

Ibztone & death cube K --- is the burnt transparent blue JS1000 inavailable in the US? I'm from S.E. Asia and the BTB and WH JS1000 are both available here but not the Black Pearl JS1000!!! Somehow, I did manage to get my hands on a JS1000BP from the dealer but i think it was a fluke... is the BTB rare for you guys and is there a lot of demand for it? i had no idea...

Isn't SBM a rock album? What else is it? easy-listening? I think not!! Rock on Joe!!!

You know, it's when they look you in the eyes, and they say: "No, I'm very very shy..."

NO NO NO NO NO.

Funny, about the Crushing Day bizzo, I had that on full volume this morning before I got out of bed. (My flat-mate hates Satch & Vai stuff so I play it to make him leave or go to his room.) It almost put me to sleep, and I'd been awake for hours. So long since I listened to it last. (Been into LISF and Vai stuff lately.)

You know, it's when they look you in the eyes, and they say: "I would love to!"

Correct.

KB1- hey man... a little rough there...i would definetly say SBM is NOT ROCK.....i don't know what it is but it isn't rock to me, BUT it is very cool and interesting...when joe started talking about a "straight rock record" i was thinking in the surfing-extremist way...which would have been much better IMO but this record is heads above EOC...a lot of good stuff on it, if you only listened to the samples you need to hear the whole thing...if you did hear the whole thing then thats your opinion and i don't think anyone should hold it against you...if you think sales will suck, the proof is in the pudding....

"Mind Storm" is easy listening? "Belly Dancer" is easy listening? "Seven String" is easy listening? I could go on and on... but what's the point anyway? Bottom line, if you don't like the music, then don't buy the CD. Why whine about it? I can't speak for Joe, but I have a feeling that he makes the music that he wants to make, not what KB1 wants him to make. I personally think that if an artist makes music that is anything other than what is in his heart, then it is fake.

No one else has said it for a good reason- no one else feels that way. I personally love what I've heard. "Mind Storm" makes me want to run around the house like a madman. I'm not going to try to force you to like SBM, or tell you that you should recognize it for the glorious music that it is, because that would be totally pointless. But I will wonder aloud why you felt the need to criticize the product of someone's heart and soul in such vicious terms.

OK, Major Tom, I've voted. Although it seems Satch can't compete with the "Home team" loyalty. :-)

Satch as a food? Hmmm... How about strong peppermints? Like many of Satch's songs, they start out cold as ice, and finish red hot!

I haven't been able to pick up a guitar for over a fortnight. I think I'm suffering WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS! AAAARRRGGHH!!

Yep, yep, yep... well so far all I've heard of the album is what is on this site, except for some fooed reason all these damn machines have playback at about 115% so I haven't heard it at normal speed yet.

Sounds good though I reckon. So far Joe it's a hit!

Well, KB1. I think this is more or less the response you should have expected. I don't mind people having their opinions, but don't go trying to legitimate them by saying it's "What the fans want". Judging by what has been said about SBM so far, that is a load of bullshit. Sure, most of us voted for rock, but the alternatives at the time were "Blues", "Jazz", "Techno" and "Rap Metal", if I remember correctly. Now, even if you don't regard SBM as "Rock", I'm guessing it can't be crammed into these other catergories as easily. (People who have heard it might care to back me up.)

Rap Metal? I'm still laughing over that one!

KB1 At least the album made you feel something. I think it's worse when you don't feel anything at all after listening to a song. And for the record Mindstorm is the best song Joe has written in a while. It's most definitely rock and it's brutal. I don't know how anyone listening to it at a concert could keep still.

quantum yeah the btb is very rare at least in canada.

kb1 well this is just my opinion: all of joes music is good. all of his disc are different , showing some creative growth as an artist for this i applaud him, at least he is not putting out the same music year after year,

JOE keep up the good work, the rest of us satch fans like the diversity!!!!!!!!

JS Clone 1: LOL. I still play my whammy guitar, but I leave the bar out.

Death Cube K: Your welcome. :) My friend bought a Ibanez with the Edge trem and did like one dive bomb with it and he heard something snap, not sure what happened, but he ended up taking the guitar back and got another one.

Quantum: Yeah in the US you can't get the burnt transparent blue JS1000. It's only available in BP or WH; however http://www.ibanezrules.com has or will be getting a few BTB JS1000 in. So it's not totally unavailable.

KB1: Harsh man. I think the album does rock. It's not as heavy as his older records, but it's a good change. You can't always be the same.
