THE TRAVELER has got to be the greatest instrumental song ever recorded... in the 21st century. the greatest in the 20th century... hmm, whaddya think joe? i can't decide... pali gap, born under a bad sign, flying in a blue dream, lights of heavan... something along those lines anyway. joe, i'm reconsidering the milwaukee show... i'm awaiting word on whether or not the tickets are still available. if so, i'll be 2nd row and waiting to chat with you afterward...... KOOL???

In response to the "USA deserved to win / USA played better / USA had more scoring opportunities" claims: no, no, and yes.

Germany had the ball much more than the USA did. Germany had better control of the ball than USA did. Germany showed exceptionally higher level of ball-handling skill than USA did. USA managed to fast break through Germany's defence more often than Germany did USA's. USA fouled more blatantly than Germany did. The end result was not far from what you would expect. I predicted 2-0, and it nearly was.

BTW Brazil were more convincing than England too, even if I was cheering the poms.

And BTW i am soooooo Psyked about the tour with Kings X and Dream Theater. I have always felt that would make for some AWSOME JAMS Ty Tabor and Joe Satriani on the same stage...hopefully ;-)

Austin - Yeah, I know the European tour is pretty much set in stone, but one can always hope eh? :-)

But hey, I can wait. I waited about 12 years to see Joe live for the first time on the EOC tour in Pori Jazz Festival in Oulu Finland. I can wait a little more to see him the second time. Hard it is though! :-)

Btw, I got myself a Japan made DS-1 from eBay a few days ago, but unfortunately after trying it 3 times now there doesn't seem to be any difference compared to a new Taiwan made model I bought some time ago. Well, the sound seems to be tiny wee bit more tight if you listen to it really carefully, but I'm not even quite sure about that either. I do have only a transistor amp though and my guitar doesn't have very good mics, so I don't know if there would be a more significant difference with a tube amp and good mics. Anybody here have any experience from both Taiwan and Japan made versions? Or could there possibly be Japan made DS-1's which aren't as good as other Japan made pedals? Or am I a victim of a rip-off? It says Made in Japan on the bottom panel, but of course the panel is easy to change from another pedal if wanted. Or the components inside. I'd really appreciate any comments from you people who have experience of both models.

PJH - Hmmm...I don't know what it is with the pedal. I do know that the Japan ones are better...so if I had to guess I would say you're not getting a good sound out of it because of your guitar or amp, like you mentioned.

ya yo- cut back a little. i think you're smothering joe. 26 already? dang. no offense.

joe, i was thinkin, you should do a summer song cd. you have so many versions of it already, just put em together with a couple new ones. like a techno version and a punk version and like a remix version. im still a fan of the original though. just a thought. later.
