Joe.......
I picked up your cd on Monday night at a record store, but decided to wait until Tuesday morning...the "official release date" to listen to it..
Tuesday morning it was me, SBM and a 4 hour car ride.. so my listening experience was uninterrupted..and I must say.. the title says it all...It truly is Strange Beautiful Music. Though your approach to writing seems much differen from past records.. its got the Satch feel all over it...and by that I mean the cd is rockin', emotional...strange and beautiful...
And you always seem to find a sound for 'love' with your guitar...how do you do it?
Can't wait to see you in Baltimore...

You've done it again, Joe...wow. What a record! I didn't get my copy 'til Wednesday, and I had to goto 2 different stores to find a copy, but the wait has all been woth it. I'm one of the people who really loved the "Engines" album and I think this one's every bit as good. Some really great tunes and it just continues to get better. Kudos.

Hi, I'd really like to know the kind of settings Joe uses on his DS-1 and which Dunlop Wah pedal he uses. Is it the GCB-95 or the 535Q pedal? A reply would be greatly appreciated =)

That guy who was complaining before stop whingeing although the "not like i said the yngwie word" was pretty funny.
Thankyou Nick for stopping the bold caps, it really does come across as shouting.
Any ideas when SBM comes out in Australia? Could be ages. I'll check out every week or two.

death cube k: i'm using a Gadget Labs Wave/8*24 for hardware, along with a Eurodesk MX2442A, a Zoom RT323, BlueTube, POD, Mesa three channel recto, various mics, etc.
I'll let you know when we get this stuff finished. I'd like to listen to everyone's stuff (and I will), but it's just crazy right now.

Here we are...part three:
Starry Night - I wasn't too sure about this one when I first heard it. Now that I've listened to the rest of the album, though, I think it's a great choice for a single. I like the bit from 1:44-2:16...it reminds me of friends from the LISF show that I attended. It appears again from 2:39-2:47. I love Joe's tone on this song...nice and bluesy. There are some cool fills in here as well, but I won't list them all. :-)

Ok..so i have the chance to talk to god, i mean Joe. If anyone wants me to ask Joe, anyone desperately wants an information, i'll make sure it gets to him. Anyone wants to write a letter to Joe, i will personally hand it to him. I want to share that day with everyone, cause i think that there are Satch fans that are living the Satch way 24/7 and deserve to meet Satch more then me. But i guess i was just so lucky.. Anyway, if anyone wants a personal message for Satch (And i am sure he will read all of those, there are approx 600km to Thessaloniki - the next city where Satch is playing after the bulgarian show, so he'll have the time :), just write it here. I am leaving in approx 26hours and i am going to print every message for Satch there is in the next 26 hours. Btw sorry about the crappy english, long live Satch, long live satriani.com staff, long live aftershow tickets :]

New Last Jam- (it just happens to have come on)
Those who like trundrumbalind will like this one :) It's not 5/4 all the way but one of the main riff is. It's also got a fair bit of whole tone scale goodness. Kinda sounds like it should be on both the Crystal Planet and the Not Of This Earth records... in my opinion.

Hey Joe...
I've noticed that since "Crystal Planet" (at least since then if not before) your CDs already come precoded for certain systems. When I play the originals in my car CD/MP3 player (I've made copies so I don't ruin, or so nobody can steal the originals) the CD name & artist name, & the track names show up. Anyways... when I play "Strange Beautiful Music" the CD name shows up as "Stranger Beautiful Music". So much for SONY's quality control :^)
