To : "It is Stu not boo" Hi Austin , I don't know if you received my message on your personal e-mail address so I use this board to thank you for your explanation . I would never have understood without your help as we're not used to do this way in France .

Mud Grunt - I actually got lucky... The CD had a $18.99 sticker price, but it was on sale for $13.99. That's about what it sold on amazon.com, without shipping...right? Still...I'd rather pay a little extra and know that I wouldn't have to worry about anything. So I'll go with amazon.com next time.

PSUKCAT13 - SBM is at the top of my list of favorite Satriani albums. And know what? I honestly think it'll stay there...yes, it's THAT good. :-)

Lowend - List yourself as attending your show on the tour page and you might win backstage passes.

wiser1 - I've had to buy tickets without presales before. I know exactly what it's like. It stinks sometimes, but hey, at least you'll be able to go to the show. As far as accusing me of kissing butt and brown-nosing to get backstage passes, that's just ridiculous. I have the same odds as anyone else that uses the backstage pass contest. And go read some of my other posts...I've pointed out quite a few things that should be changed on the site. There is a difference between telling someone to "prepare to be flamed" and using constructive criticism to point out flaws. Constructive criticism is not brown-nosing by any means.

It is Stu not Boo - Heh. Sounds a lot like my experience looking for a copy of SBM yesterday. I went to Tower first, but saw the $19 price tag. Screw that, I'm happy to give Joe the extra money, but I knew it would just go towards the Jaguar payment for some Tower exec. Figured I could do much better at Best Buy. 2 Best Buys and a ton of hassles later, not another SBM in sight! Tried a few random Wal-Marts and Targets (figured they would come up empty) and finally went back to Tower about 2 hours later. The guy rang it up and it was actually on sale for $12! I was happy about the price, but jeez they could have saved me a lot of trouble by actually advertising it! (strange concept)

Anyway, I've been playing it nonstop since then and loving it more and more. Finally getting a chance to check out the online listening party now and hear Joe's comments on the songs. The album as a whole didn't grab me or blow me away like some of the past releases have. After the first listen I would have put it in my least 3 favorite Joe albums - meaning awesome but not up to par for Joe. But it's one of those that grows on you, and I'm really getting into it now. Noticing a lot of great little details that you can't get in the first couple of listens - I have a feeling this may become one of my favorites in the coming weeks! It's quickly moving up the rankings...

Great job Joe, as always, and thanks for the music!

Sorry for making a lot of posts tonight, but here's the first part of my SBM review...

Oriental Melody - This song is very different for Joe. After listening to it once I thought it was just ok... But I like it more and more each time I hear it. My favorite part is from 1:14-1:38.

Kinda a crummy "review", but hey. ;-) Some of the ones for the other songs are better. Does anyone else have any comments or favorite moments in this song?

Belly Dancer will follow tomorrow night.

Satch3d - Stop just spinning it and go put the thing in your CD player - you'll like it even more that way, trust me!!!!! lol

Stu Not Boo - I reckon Oriental Melody is pretty good. As soon as I put it in my CD player and heard that intro I was like "hmmm..." I just love the drum groove and the bit that I suppose could be called the chorus. The only problems I have with that one are I don't really like the melody guitar sound at the beginning; that really soaked in delay sound kinda does my head in. And the solo sounds a bit, dare I say it, sloppy in places. But I think that's also down to the tone - it's quite muddy. I didn't have anywhere near the problems you had in tracking the album down though. I just walked into my local MVC, checked the "new releases" shelf, and there it was...

Anybody else having problems uploading stuff to their IUMA lately?

L8rs, Neil.

Bit disappointed with the European tour dates! I am in Brussels and the last time out I drove a couple of hours to the gig in Luxembourg, this tour nothing comes very close (like last G3 too....). Also, there are not many UK options so I won't see you there either (during a trip home - that is where I am from). Even Mr. Vai took the trouble to play Brussels recently. Yes, yes - I know, you can't make it to everywhere.... All the best, yours slightly disgruntled.

I think Joe should do some instore signings as well when he comes over to the UK too! Maybe if enough of us ask for it....well, you never know. I've just finished my A-Levels and am 'graduating' secondary (thats high school to you Americans). I can't wait to see you play in London, it's going to be the perfect way to end my school days! Can I have a request - for me and my friends who have all finished school - you have GOT to play Mindstorm live! See you soon!

Hey Jon- I just came up with another good idea for the new site. On the T2J forum, maybe we could have the ability, within our personal profile, to block the messages of certain T2Jers whose obnoxious ramblings we'd rather not read. Just a thought... *nudge nudge* *wink wink*

hey fellow satch fans, an update on my SBM situation...

I rode my bike to Best Buy yesterday morning (after the guy said it'll be there in another shipment) and it wasn't there. I felt like beating the guy up. I was so PO'd.

When I got home I called the Orange Park Mall (to be directed to Sam Goody. I said, "Do you guys have the new Joe Satriani CD?" She said, "Who?" (only the fiftieth time I'd got that.) "Oh yeah, we have it. we got it yesterday." Suddenly, Handel's Hallelujah chorus rose in my head. HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! and so on.

So anyway, I told my mom and after my orthodontist appointment. (OUCH!) I will get my SBM FINALLY!

Thanks for the comfort Joe,

Daniel

Webmaster: Keep up the good work with the site man, although some people don't show it, we all apreciate the great job, and the new look you've given us. I can't belive how people can get so uptight and rude. The listening party was great, inspired me to order the CD!! Must be been difficult to set up, so again thanks for that. It ran beautifully, even on my 56k!! Everyone: Remember this is Joe Satriani's website, For people who enjoy listening to Joe and chilling out with other fans, I'm sure Jon would be much more comfortable if we all stay cool. Do as the Joe Do!! Stu

Mr. Joe, I was wondering when or if you have any plans to make an all Acoustic release. I love the sounds of my powered axe, but I can't substitute the natural sounds of my acoustic. Your acoustic sounds so solid, I have to ask, what do you have done with the necks. What string do you recommend, or prefer? I'm still learning, but someday, someday... Sincerely, Juice finger

Front row center for August 31st. 6ft away from Joe, the Clones will be.

Just finishing up some research on where to best order SBM. Soon... It really hurts.

Plum Loco - Thanks for the website. The cd costs $7 more but you really save on shipping from amazon.ca instead of .com.

Wiser1 - Really, why would you rag on the listening party? It was a great idea from what I heard. If they aren't just 14 pure tracks playing rfont to back... wouldn't that kinda be like buying the cd?

WEBMASTER YOU RULE. Great freaking job on the site.

well presale tickets are onsale now for atlanta and I found out the deal...cce or clear channel entertainment which is a mega corp that owns 4 radio stations in our market has a club called get accesss which you can join for the price of $60 a year and get into the presales it sponsers...so Joe has sold out to the big media companies after all?...the sad part about it is out of the 4 stations in atlanta only 1 is sponsering this show and they have no info at all about it on air or online..they will only play 1 song by joe because "satriani has a small fan base and all new songs have to go through a market test before they are allowed on the air...to weed out the "scary songs" so this mega media company that will only play allways with you, allways with me is selling presale tickets after you fork over $60 to join "get access" I wonder if Joe knows what his people have done to the fans of atlanta..or if he is just counting the extra money this deal made him.....
