First things first. I would like to tell our illustrious webmaster that the new Talk To Joe on which we can edit our posts for spelling mistakes and what not after the fact is MONEY! Thanks a million, and thanks for making this page a little faster loading! I have a top-of-the-line computer now and even I was having trouble... :)
OMG, Joe Satriani!!! I just got up and decided to open the day with a listen to the "Oriental Melody" download. WOW!!! The ten-second preview did NOT do it justice! I mean, it starts out innocently enough, it almost has a Jesus Jones feel from the beginning of it, and I'm like, "Hmmm...unique, man, cool!" But halfway through, as soon as those Eastern sounding KEYBOARDS took over the melody I just about peed my pants!!! "What the... Holy... AAAAUUUGGHHH!!!!!! :)" An AMAZING piece of work there, man! Have you ever heard the Ozric Tentacles "Ashlandi Bol"? Amazing tune from the album "The Hidden Step", it employs a lot of the same keyboard tricks, I highly recommend it. Kudos on your great tune, Joe! That did it. I'm going out and pick up the album today...no more hesitation. If the rest of it sounds anything like that, I'm going to BLOW UP!!! Take care, all...a full review of Strange Beautiful Music is forthcoming!
To all...someone told me something interesting and I thought I might share it with you. Rachel, a fan of .click., one of the local bands' message boards that I frequent, recently came up to Baltimore all the way from Nerbraska to see this band. She acknowledged the fact that I was one of the most laid-back easy going people she had ever met from the boards, which totally surprised her because she said that she imagined me to be much different because sometimes I post on the board with the enthusiasm of an excited little kid! :) ??????? Do I really post like that? Maybe it's just my love for music manifesting itself in it's writing? You decide...

Michelle: I have seen many, many concerts. So many that I got tired of going.I haven't been to a large show in.....here it comes.....12 years....I saw Blue Oyster Cult a few months ago but it was a Biker rally & not too many people went so I don't really consider it to be a "Concert" you know what I mean...I stopped going because a Blockbuster went off right next to me & my girl.It was getting really bad in the 90's but Joe's fans aren't like that. They actually watch...lol...Yes,I do have the "Satch Tapes" which is totally awsome.I picked up L.I.S.F. Vhs & it broke windows.I am equally excited to see Dream Theater too.My seats aren't that great but I have a good pair of binoculars.I guess I'll get my chance to pee in the bathroom of a Joe Satriani concert!..lol...The cool thing is that my Roommate is in N.Y. for the fourth. When I moved here he had never heard "Raspberry Jam" or of Dream Theater. Now he loves it.What he doesn't know is I got a ticket for him too.Boy,he's in for a shock when he gets back..lol...Tickets were a little pricy but but worth every red cent:)$51.50 each.I am sooooo siked for this.I hope I win passes(hint, hint).I'd like to have Joe sign my Universe but my chances are pretty slim at best for that to happen.Anyhoo....yes,I am in for a super treat Michelle.O.K... you can have your snickers now..lol...Happy fourth of July Folks & remember...Joe loves you.....jblaze....A very happy jblaze:)

About Clouds Race Across the Sky, it's at the end where all teh guitars fade out and it's just techno drums and bass. Once per bar you hear what sounds like a voice. When I heard it, I was in my room lying down in the dark and had it cranked fairly loud. Big floor speakers, large frequency range.
Crushing Day must rule live.

I just discovered Joe a few months ago and I have almost all of his CDs already. Joe is the greatest! I'm planning on attending either the Pittsburgh or Camden shows in September with my friend. I was just wondering if Joe talks to his fans or signs autographs after the show. I would love to meet him and my friend would too!
Thanks,

Ok, as a first post:
The new album is KICK-ASS. To me it's up there with "Surfing with the Alien"... Best Satch album for a looong time. I've been listening to it for 2 days straight and it just gets better. It sounds like pure inspiration and fun while recording it, and I'm just so grateful to be able to listen to it. Keep it up Joe, you definitely got it. ;)
To the webmaster: Isn't this forum backwards? Took me a while to get to the newer posts. Shouldn't the newest posts end up in the beginning, moving the older posts back? Just a suggestion.

Yes I said it before, and now I'm saying it again, I have front row center seats for the Cleveland show, and you can still get good seats. Last I checked there was still 5th Row center seats available. I gave all of you ample time to get this password and use it. It has been up for about a week, so I just leaked it on the Dream Theater website. Hopefully the first five rows are Satch fans!!!!! Hey Joe, Guitarded girl, and guitarded brother in law, and I will be there front and center. Can't wait to see you. Hopefully I can get my hands on one of those backstage passes. I would really like to shake your hand. I have an infatuation with guitar calluses, joking joking!!!! ......
Hey Jon how do you win the backstage passes is it a random pull out of the hat deal, or does Joe actually pick?

Joe your new songs rule...and I think they were organized very well on the album....the whole album seems to flow nicely. I especially like traveler...the soaring melodies are my favorites, and you accomplish them so well. Oriental Melody is an excellent jam, but my favorite has to be mountain song....I took a trip up to the mountains while jamming it and felt right at home...YOU ROCK!!!!!!! PS backstage passes for Kanevil, backstage passes for Kanevil, backstage passes for Kanevil.
