Hello to all fans of Joe Satriani and all fans of guitar music, I know I've posted many messages containig the question about voting fot Joe in a Dutch guitarists poll. This action made Joe reach the third guitarist place in that poll. The number one in that poll is Jan Akkerman. A famous Dutch guitarist. Than there is an item called 'not in the list'. Followed by J. Hendrix and Joe satriani. When i started this campaign, Joe was just above Eddy van Halen. So I would like to thank everybody who helped me to get Joe reach higher places in that poll. THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND........KEEP ON VOTING.

From the guitar music fan

John Saelmans a.k.a. Major Tom.

jblaze: listening to KWS "Ledbetter Heights" right now, & I concede! Some tracks sound exactly like SRV, & on others he's very Lowell George.....Some tracks are pretty standard, but there's a few good tunes there,,, (sorry about that "shell" that cut you, it wasnt me!!....;))

Clarky: Hi there..glad to see you back! Congratulations on the move..whereabouts in Berks are you? When's the housewarming? Btw, what have you done with AVARICE??

MAJOR TOM: sorry I got annoyed(but it was a bit annoying!) Anyway, I did vote, & congrats in getting Joe up there where he belongs....

PhryDom: Are you going to make it to a Tuesday jam then? There are few more around the place if you're interested...

Joe: cant wait to see you on July 18! Hope the tour is going well..love the reviews from the Bulgarian concert...

Ibztone - 20hz - 20khz is 20,000hz.......

My physics teacher has this device which emits pitch. He went to 22,000hz and half the class could still hear including me. We kicked in at around 20 - 25hz.

And 7000 hz tops after hearing loss? Maybe when you're 107.

JS Clone 1: Well the high frequencies are in khz not just hz. Was that device an oscillator? 7k is the loss after many years, which is in the treble range. That is what I read from my recording book and an article online. I will search that article out and post the link for you to check out. It had some great info about hearing loss. The book that I have is "Modern Recording Techniques Fifth Edition" By: David Miles Huber and Robert E. Runstein. On page 46 of that book they offer a diagram chart with the hearing range.

JSclone1: I was watching some show on the tele about human hearing. It said , believe it or not, that truck/car engines & low level sounds that can't be heard are more dangerous than loud Rock Concerts.Jack hammers do more damage than LOUD music. So party on & shed those ear plugs.I never used ear plugs during all those Ozzy & priest shows & my hearing is fine.No doubt they ring a little after but nothing permanent.....jblaze

gruskada/alien32: thanx guys, i hope you have your chance to meet Joe too, mine was a wonderfull experience. I was just astounded of Joe's calmness and cool attitude. Hope i can do that some other time :) Btw did i mention that, after the aftershow, Joe was outside the National Palace Of Culture, and signed the tickets to all the people that asked him to to that. He also photographed with everyone, i personally photographed 3 times with Joe (altough there were other people on the pics too :) I just dont have the words for it, Joe is very close with his fans. Later guys :]

Well, to tell you all the truth, i havent seen the photos myself. The ones that were taken with Mandragor's camera did not turned out so well, and so we are expecting the photos from the Macedonian reporters who were kind enough to photograph us with Joe. I have a information that they are on vacation and will be back on 15 july (Joe's birthday!) They also have photos from the show and the organisation. I will send the photos to John (our very own polite and helpfull webmaster), as soon as i get my hands on them. I am taking photo of my autographed guitar strap and the backstage pass, if anyone wants a .jpg, drop me a line, atom1c@linux.net.mk

howdy ... the new record is going to take some getting used to ... I was so into the evolution of CP and EOC, that I am a bit thrown off ... the songs, in particular, are not as strong as I have grown accustomed too. I was anticipating the more organic approach used on SBM, but I do miss the funky loops & blips that help enhance your soundscape & influence your rhythmic style.

I have been down with Joe since the late 80's and have ridiculous respect for the man's catalog ... I mean to convey no offense. I know he encourages his true fans to mingle thier opinions on this site ... it's all good.

if you haven't, check out the Zero 7 record,"Simple Things". Then imagine Joe getting down with THAT type of sound.

I'm sure that I will grow to love the new record for what it is, but I sure hope Joe strikes back with another record pulsing with the inspired energy and melody of EOC once again!!

peace

Hi...I have a random question for everyone. On the Rockline interview Joe said that one of the downsides to an album like EOC is that it's very hard to reproduce in a live setting. I'm not a techno fan by any means, but I really like what Joe did with that album and would like to hear more of that kind of music from him. Does anyone here think it would be a good idea for Joe to make a few more albums like EOC, but not support them with a tour? He could just work on them on his own and release them whenever. Would anyone here buy them? I would. Of course this would never happen because Sony would never go for such a thing...haha.

jblaze1 - Those pages work just fine for me. Try again.

atomiq - I agree...Joe is so awesome when it comes to talking to all of his fans. He's a really cool guy.

I just listened to crushing day for the first time. it's not a favorite but it's still neat. IM also listening to the journey a lot. it reminds me of circles, but better. i especially love 3:11 to the end. the ending is just so....you know. later.

JOE....no offense to you, but i think you need to improve on summer song a little. the original is just outstanding and i think the reason why is that the second guitar part is more noticeable. i love all the chords and how they just flow. it's awesome, but your later versions just don't seem as good.
