Well, to tell you all the truth, i havent seen the photos myself. The ones that were taken with Mandragor's camera did not turned out so well, and so we are expecting the photos from the Macedonian reporters who were kind enough to photograph us with Joe. I have a information that they are on vacation and will be back on 15 july (Joe's birthday!) They also have photos from the show and the organisation. I will send the photos to John (our very own polite and helpfull webmaster), as soon as i get my hands on them. I am taking photo of my autographed guitar strap and the backstage pass, if anyone wants a .jpg, drop me a line, atom1c@linux.net.mk

howdy ... the new record is going to take some getting used to ... I was so into the evolution of CP and EOC, that I am a bit thrown off ... the songs, in particular, are not as strong as I have grown accustomed too. I was anticipating the more organic approach used on SBM, but I do miss the funky loops & blips that help enhance your soundscape & influence your rhythmic style.
I have been down with Joe since the late 80's and have ridiculous respect for the man's catalog ... I mean to convey no offense. I know he encourages his true fans to mingle thier opinions on this site ... it's all good.
if you haven't, check out the Zero 7 record,"Simple Things".
Then imagine Joe getting down with THAT type of sound.
I'm sure that I will grow to love the new record for what it is, but I sure hope Joe strikes back with another record pulsing with the inspired energy and melody of EOC once again!!
peace

Hi...I have a random question for everyone. On the Rockline interview Joe said that one of the downsides to an album like EOC is that it's very hard to reproduce in a live setting. I'm not a techno fan by any means, but I really like what Joe did with that album and would like to hear more of that kind of music from him. Does anyone here think it would be a good idea for Joe to make a few more albums like EOC, but not support them with a tour? He could just work on them on his own and release them whenever. Would anyone here buy them? I would. Of course this would never happen because Sony would never go for such a thing...haha.
jblaze1 - Those pages work just fine for me. Try again.
atomiq - I agree...Joe is so awesome when it comes to talking to all of his fans. He's a really cool guy.
...Austin...

I just listened to crushing day for the first time. it's not a favorite but it's still neat. IM also listening to the journey a lot. it reminds me of circles, but better. i especially love 3:11 to the end. the ending is just so....you know. later.
JOE....no offense to you, but i think you need to improve on summer song a little. the original is just outstanding and i think the reason why is that the second guitar part is more noticeable. i love all the chords and how they just flow. it's awesome, but your later versions just don't seem as good.

Austin...I definately think he should do another EOC type album. I honestly hate most techno stuff thats out these days, but now I can't say I hate it all....lol....It's a really good album in my opinion, Joe is so good at surprising his fans with a wide range of styles.....SBM is kick-ass, yet it has a bit of a classic feel to it. Take "chords of life" for example, when he kicks in to that first solo part? It sounds like Alvin Lee from Ten Years After....absolutely amazing...it gets me out of my chair every time. (just for the record, I'm not comparing Alvin Lee to Joe Satriani in any way, shape or form) haha..I know someone is going to have something to say about it. Anyhow...Joe is the only guy I've heard who can make techno sound really good :) one more thing...I'll bet anyone ten bucks that A.L. was an influence on Joe at some point in his life :)

Hey I don't remember saying anything 'bout our championship game, right?
Well, second place. We lost on penalty kicks. Anyway, we got a big@ss trophy and a medal for every player, so now we can't wait for the next season!
In another front, last Wednesday we oficially received the keys to our new house!!! We'll move there in about 2 weeks, and I'll finally be able to setup a proper SImpsons shrine for all to see. Cool.
After a couple of weeks of playing along to SBM, I have to publicly admit that I'm constantly skipping Mountain Song and The Journey. WBAH sounds better every time! Has anyone here tabbed the solos in Belly Dancer? If u have, could I have a copy?? Please???
Hi to all and to all a good night. MEX-PEAT!!

ibztone- you seem a bit confused- kilo means "a thousand of"- so 6khz is es exactly the same as 6000Hz or 6*10^3 Hz. It's like kilobytes are a thousand times bigger than a byte. Except that's very slightly different since a kilobyte is 1024 Bytes.
Hmm- anyway- hey everyone... i was on the winning side of a cricket match for the first time this season today :)
I have nothing to say.

I absolutely fell in love with EOC! It's definately one of my favorites! It is pure inovation. Other guitarists have tried the electronic thing by simply putting standard riffs to an electronic beat and calling it Techno but Joe actually created a entire new style. You wont be able to find a record like EOC anywhere. If you really think about it... there isn't really that much synth on the album. Joe was able to get such great sounds out of his guitar (via effects and Pro Tools) without a guitar synth. The album is a TRUE hybrid of instrumental rock and techno. No other artist was able to accomplish that. Myself being a lover of rock and techno absolutely went bonkers when I heard the album.
It seemed to me that EOC created a new fan base for Joe. I noticed people that aren't guitarists, aren't into instrumental rock, that in some cases haven't heard of joe really liking the album and buying it. Unfortunately there were many hard core Satch fans who didn't like the album becuase they simply wont accept anything that isn't pure rock to them. This discourages me greatly because EOC may be a side a Joe we'll never here from again.
Joe, I would love to hear more from the EOC side of you. To me that is some of the most inovative head turning music you have ever created.
Later, Mike

Austin I was the one who asked him that question, and I was really surprised by the answer, because I think Joe did a wonderful job reproducing those songs live. Just listen to Live In San Fran. Devi's Slide, Borg Sex, Clouds Race, all of them came out great. Now some of the cool sounds like the stacatto riff in Devil's Slide did not come out like I wanted them to live, but it still worked. I think that as technology continues we'll see more of this from Joe because it will be easier to do live.
Another point about techno flavored music. I've noticed and heard live what Tori Amos can do with her newer material. She must have some really talented engineers working on the techno bits and cool sounds, but they all work live. Maybe they are sampled, but let's face it everything that The Chemical Brothers play and perform is sampled.

Well folks, I've died and gone to heaven. Yes that's right. I know you were all thinking the same thing I was. I played the most remarkable instrument today. Ready? A Steinway Concert grand piano...................the one used at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. It costs $165,000!!!!!!!!!!!! It's 9 feet long and it plays like a dream. I couldn't believe how amazing it was to have that at my fingertips. Absolutely unreal sound. So rich and full of bass but the upper keys were like pearls falling onto the strings. It was perfect. You really couldn't find a better piano.
