JSC1 - I have no idea how it differs from a stock RG570, because I'm not much of a gear head. I can get by, but I'm hardly a fountain of information on that front, know what I mean? So what I'll do is post the spec for my lump of wire and wood and maybe you could tell me how it differs... Basswood body, flamed-maple veneer; Wizard II (I think...) maple neck, rosewood fingerboard (don't ask me about neck radius or any of that stuff - haven't got a clue); 24 frets (the little ones - you can feel the wood when you're playing); Lo-Pro Edge trem, gold (mmmm, nice...), with extra deep routing; one volume pot, one tone pot, 5-way selector switch (the usual Ibanez stuff...); V7, S1, and V8 p/ups (H, S, H), but I changed the two humbuckers to DiMarzio Evolutions. I think that's it... Have you heard the new tune at my IUMA yet? It's called "Let's Hear It For A MInor!!!" - check it out, man.
L8r, Neil.

JS Clone 1: Yeah... I was totally surprised. Steve's assistant, Rich Pike, called me to tell me the good news. He said that Steve would not have the guitar sent unless I promised to play it frequently. He wanted it to be used not admired. I think I've have fulfilled my promise. Steve signed the trem spring cover, which is put in a safe place, of course. Like I said, I love that guitar. I use her all the time and she never complains, never gets fussy. If I ever do care about the gold, I can always buy new saddles for show. Anyway, with any luck you all should be hearing from her soon. I can't believe it's taking me so long to finish this first tune. My partner and I still have solos to record and there's yet to be "real" drums and bass tracks done. It's the most insane thing I've ever written/recorded.
Talk to you all later...
P.S. - A live webcast of a European show?!! Joe and Jon, you guys freakin' rule! Thanks for helping to change the music industry, it's refreshing!

Joe:
Love your new album, like always, the more I listen to it the better it sounds - great stuff, I've got my 6 CD case in my SUV full of your music now. I am looking at your concert schedule and don't see Seattle - are you planning to come here soon?
Carry on the good work!

Joe, in some of your old pictures, you kinda look like Ben Stiller in Zoolander. Just a thought.
I am falling in love with Crushing Day. Just upbeat and creative and whatever.

My life mate and I have a common interest and it's your music. You are a galactic person Joe. As for my life mate, he touches my soul like you play your guitar, he makes me sing like you make your guitar sing, and even more than that he's captured my heart.
Keep those great licks coming....
you rock and always have,
A fan for life,

Interestingly enough I have been able to come frighteningly close to Joe's tone with a Parker Fly Classic and a Boss GT-5 with a 31 band EQ through the loop and an Alesis 2 channel comp/lim/gate. If you are careful you can find that beautiful tone with the right mix of the magnetic and acoustic pick-ups. GOD I just love those Custom Wound DiMarzio's. I'll have a site up in the near future and I'll get some of my orignal work up for perusal and critique from the other masters that post here.
Always remember that a gentleman is a man that can play the play the accordian... but doesn't.
Peace, love and JOE!

anibur - If I had to guess, I'd say the webcast would be from one of the UK shows.
ovation1 - Email the webmaster (webmaster@satriani.com) and tell him about the problem you have. I talked to him a while ago about having the same problem. I think it works on his end, but a lot of people here are having trouble with it. Also, according to www.pollstar.com, Joe is doing 3 shows in Japan in October.
shell - You're welcome. If you go back to read the rest of them, they are always posted between midnight and 1:00 AM Pacific Time. That should make it easier for you to find them.
guitarded inlaw - Joe is playing I Believe in Europe... Hopefully it'll stay in the set for the US shows.

Hey Joe! This might sound odd because you have so many great albums, but Strange Beautiful Music is definitely my favourite. I love the oriental sound on a lot of the tracks particularly on New Last Jam. I love that song. My other favourites are Mind Storm, Mountain Song, What Breaks a Heart, 7 String and Chords of Life. Your talent continues to inspire me.

Ovation1 --- Thank you so much for your help! Please do keep me posted on that... :)
Prog X "Fly To New Planetary Systems" update --- Well, folks, I have been working on the drum track to this one diligently for the last three weeks, and I am FINALLY into the fast middle part of the song! PHEW! Was all set to finish up half of the entire drum track today, but had too much to frickin' do! This is the first time I've sat down to the computer all day, the home studio has been sitting in cobwebs. With ten minutes to go before I leave for work, I might as well not even bother to turn the thing on. Prog-ress is being made, but slowly. I hope to have this thing completely finished by the 1st of August, it's been draggin on too damned long! Prog X's Temple
Eagerly awaiting September 14, 2002. Kudos!

aah, at last I found a way to d/load off iuma- i've been getting 403 erros with getright, but I can finally do it now. I can finally hear Pete's redone Shanghai Interlude!
And I've figured out how to use Magix Music Studio Deluxe generation 5 (Emagic clone but works fine). On the other hand I have to write an essaycomparing Bach's Brandenburg Concerto no 4 in G major movement I with Tippett's Concerto for double string orchestra... isn't life fun?
tube strike??? Oh dear oh dear. Well I'm skipping college for the day to go so there shouldn't be a problem with the walking.... hope it's not tooooo far from Victoria... wouldn't it be sweet if the webcast was from London? What a souvenir that'd be... although I guess all those in San Fransisco on Jeff's birthday already know.
Out of interest.. are there any people here who were at any of the shows that the Time Machine Live songs were recorded at?

Hi Joe,
I am Sammy, a budding 11 year old guitarist - check me out on www.sammyroberts.com/ I am half English and half Thai and live in Phuket Thailand. Among players I have jammed with are Michael Maung (He says you taught him many years ago). We are in England right now and my dad is bringing me to see you at Birmingham next Friday. I'll try and get a good spot up in the balcony as I am only a little guy! Any chance of meeting you after the show to autograph my CD? See you on Friday (don't forget to look up!).
