anibur - i checked the tube's site and nothing is up there to say it's been called off- you'd be able to get the tube back since it ends at 8pm on thursday. but no good for getting there.

It sucks since my girlfriend was going to come with me but she doesn't fancy walking 6 miles from victoria station to get there plus walking up and down oxford street, and then standing up for 3 hours with loud music.

So that in mind- there's a large possibility that I'll have a spare ticket I can sell- I can't promise anything yet, but if anyone needs a ticket, do let me know, on here or by e-mail (use paul.huxley@ntlworld.com)

i'm really looking forward to the show on thursday, not just for the music and the joeness but cause i'll be able to meet lotsa you guys like anibur (OK, she's a gal rather than a guy, but here guy here is meant to encompass both genders), master yoda/neilio morgani and all the other guys i know from england but haven't recently talked about the gig.

Since I was the first person to put myself down as attending any gig on this tour on the website does that mean I get an aftershow pass?? pleeaseee.... well if i win it and my g/f isn't coming i'm sure it'll be a fierce debate as to who gets to go with me.... anyway the draw is coming up soon for who gets that pass, so good luck to everyone, and may the best fan win ;)

I need to work out what to get Joe... I'm trying to decide between getting him to sign a postcard which says "you look so sexy playing air guitar" and giving him the postcard... hmmm...

Joe, I wanted to thank you personally for re-establishing my enthusiasm for playing guitar. I was in a rut with my playing and practicing. Although I was practicing as one to two hours a day, about all the spare time I could, I felt I was not getting any better. At the time I was leading a Youth Band in our church. The teenagers I was teaching were going through the motions when I was around, but practicing very little on their own so musically we weren't improving either. I was really getting burned out. Then I saw you play while you were in Atlanta, the show you were telecasting on the Web. Throughout the show I was blown away by both you and Stu. You two were so tight. Then during Always With... Something clicked inside my head that made me realize that being burned out was all in my head. I realized that behind the two-plus hour shows were thousands of hours of practice and levels of commitment that I had not comprehended before that moment. I realized that your hours of teaching others to play and to expand their own talents musically was more than just the motions. It was a commitment and caring that you had for them on a personal level. All that clicked in the four minutes that you were rocking. So I started rethinking my commitment levels and things started clicking for everyone concerned. They still won't let me play "Ceremony" in the church but I don't expect that from the Chosen Frozen Baptists anyway. I'll be at the show on August 24, at the Tabernacle. I wish you success on the tour. THanks again....RickyG

Major Tom:

I understand that you're trying to help Joe out. And honestly, I see where you're coming from where lots of people want something from Joe, rather than to give something back. But unfortunately, in my opinion your method of helping him is less than effective. I read this board sveral times a day, even though I don't often have much to say. And all I have seen for you are posts practically begging people to go vote for Joe. Posts that are always in all caps, which most people on the Web find to be highly annoying.

All in all, your delivery of this request comes off as being the electronic equivalent of someone poking me repeatedly trying to get my attention. And for me, at least, when someone keeps poking me to get my attention, it makes me even more likely to ignore them- they have the exact opposite effect from what they want.

Case in point: my mother is an avid Christian. Her brother is not- in fact he's an atheist. She seems to have made it the goal of her life to convert him to Christianity, and brings this subject up at almost every oppurtunity. What she doesn't realize is that she has essentially had the inverse effect on him of her intentions. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm. I just want you to realize that while you see your posts as being benevolent, others may perceive them as just annoying. That's just a basic part of being human- it's difficult to imagine things through someone else'e eyes. I noticed that you did take time to respond to the comments made about you- this tells me that you aren't just some mindless spam automaton. So try to think about this a bit- and if you don't come to the same conclusions as me, don't sweat it. I won't harass you again about this, out of courtesy.

Thanks for the info and opinions Satch72 and Cyberjoe!

Satch72 - very nice JS-guitars website you have there! If you need pics of JS-90HAM let me know. I just recently grabbed some from eBay when one guy was selling one of them. Too bad I didn't have the money to buy it. It's pretty rare axe and a damn cool looking I must say. :-)

Cyberjoe - I've also thought about changing Dimarzio FRED and Paf Pro pickups on it, but first I need to hear how those Axis pickups sound. I didn't know though that you can change the Edge bridge on it. Got to think about changing that one too, but what about Lo-Pro Edge? Would it fit also? And what exactly is the difference between the Edge and Lo-Pro Edge bridges? I read that the Lo-Pro is a little less stif than the Edge, but is there any other differences than that?

Well that's all for now. I'm really looking forward to play with the JS-100. It hasn't arrived yet, but hopefully comes early this week. :-)
