Stu not boo I stumbled across your post about the hidden CD in the Vai-box and I just couldn't believe it... naturally, I threw myself at the box and sure enough, after some violent actions involving a pair of screwdrivers, I found it! <grin> I can't thank you enough for sharing that info.... but how did you learn it was there? Did you buy two boxes just to shred the other, in case something was placed there or what? LOL I would never come up with the thought of wrecking a box I bought for $100...... which was what I had to pay for it here in Sweden.

BTW, I finally bought SBM and I thought I would post my reviews of the songs here, matching them against yours and see if they are totally different or not.... :) it will take a few days more, though.

Thanks again!

Matt Holden...You're doing just fine....Play what you want to play. It amazes me that Joe thinks of Hendrix 99% of the time because I hear very little of Jimi's style in his playing (thats a compliment Joe!!) except for the occasional wah wah parts, Joe sounds like Joe in my opinion. I can't pin down who his influences are, so I think that Joe is a modern day pioneer. Last week I was playing some riffs online for a friend in Canada and he told me I sounded like Stevie Ray Vaughan. I was kind of insulted because I try so hard to be myself when I'm playing guitar. As it turns out, that IS myself. Playing those light speed scales and whatnot are fun, but I prefer to play what comes from my heart and not from a tab book.....anyways I'll quit blubbering........SPARROW, if you find one of those hooded sweatshirts let me know, I want one too...lol............Peace, Dave

Alien32 - Luthite is more of a clear articulate tonality with no bottom end response to it. The chrome also has many many reported durability problems and 99% of the JS10th being sold used to collectors have damages. Whether these damages are scuffs, scratches, chrome peeling or bubbling, this guitar is very fragile and is not meant to be a players axe. If someone wants it to be a player's axe then they should just rip all the chrome off right off the bat.

Ovation1 - The neck on the PGM is very similar to the newer style Jem necks (Jem7VWH etc...) Then only difference is that the fretboard radius on the PGM is 430. The Jem is 400 so the PGM fretboard is slightly more curved. Very slightly. Excellent guitars.

Did my video end up getting through to you?

You know.....it would really be nice if Joe visited his own website once and awhile and posted some messages... (joke)

I know, I know, He's busy and on tour at the moment, but that never stopped him before. I mean, since the new website went online, he's only posted once and that was almost a month ago. So either his laptop that he had is on the fritz and didn't take it out on the road with him or he's just waiting until the 1st part of the tour this summer is over and is waiting until he's home to catch up. Anyways Joe..... HAPPY B-DAY TOMMOROW.... You're only as old as you feel dude...

Hey joe! Your nr.1 fan in Norway here. Im currently in process of bying a new guitar, and the ibanez js series is the guitars that appeals to me the most. But my problem is this, the js1000 is a bit to expensive, so it comes down to the js100 or the js700. Not a single person in my local shop can tell me about sound and tone differences between the to, even though they`re 2 very different guitars in both body material and equipment. So i was hoping that you could help me with some information about the 2 guitars, so i have some background information to help select the right one.

I would be very greatful for any help you can give me.

Best regards, Atle Nyberg (norway)

Joe, HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Go out and buy your self another guitar, you deserve it!

Quantum- A super shifter acts like a second tremolo arm on your guitar!!! It bends notes to a pre-selected value while flutter (a function on the pedal) simulates the slapping of a tremolo bar.

KDA- As far as I know, a Ibanez S470 has a whamy bar(correct me if I'm wrong). So, to fix your problem, try putting on a new set of strings makeing sure that nut and bridge bolts and other important parts are tight!!!!! If that dosent work, go to your local guitar store and find out if somthing is broken or damaged.

Bullster, thanks. I think my sister is happy its sold, especially to a teenager just starting out.

Austin- chome dipped lucite for the public, why? Do people understand its only really a collectable? I suppose one could chome dip a wooden guitar even if its not an authentic chomeboy. Can you order a guitar directly from the factory with your own specifics? Not that I'm in the market, just curious.

I'm now thinking it would be cool to custom paint a guitar, maybe someday. I guess its time to head to my studio, I feel the creative energy taking over...ciao, ciao

I finally did it - I handed in my letter of resignation to my current employers. Oh, the relief.... New job = Ice Cream van driver!!!! :)

JSC1 - How many times do I have to tell you, dude? Send me those videos, dammit!!!!! lol

Matt Holden - The main thing to remember with any musical instrument is that you're indulging in art, and art is about expressing yourself. So, as long as that's happening you're doing exactly the right thing. The moment you stop expressing yourself your music starts to become stale and weak. If you consciously avoid sounding like Joe Satriani then you aren't expressing yourself - you're setting yourself musical goals and challenges which get in the way of creativity. The truth is, if you're truly expressing yourself then you won't sound like Joe Satriani. Something I have learned just recently is that you can't create or develop your individuality on the guitar. It's just there from the very first note you ever play. You just have to discover it, let it grow naturally. Problems arise when you go out of your way to sound like someone else. And yes, it is incredibly un-cool to be any good these days... lol
