G'day everyone. I'm after a rare recording by Joe, it came on a CD attached to a Guitar magazine, not sure which one, but it featured Mr. Satriani improvising a solo over a backing track, and I believe the track was eventually named something like "Heart of the Sun", or something similar. If ANYONE HAS A COPY OF THIS TRACK, PLEASE E-MAIL ME! I can be reached at: mailto:daniel_l_v@yahoo.com.au Thanks.

MAN! I miss out on the webcast?!?!?! Ahhh...serves me right for not checking the site in the past two days I suppose, but I'm in agony! I had been looking forward to seeing the webcast since I heard it originally was a possibility, and now I miss it! Is there any, I mean ANY way that I could see this without having to wait another few weeks? Webmaster - any ideas, or am I SOL??

Just got back from the performance at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. It was a great show. I had an aftershow meeting with Joe along with some other fans. Joe is a very, very nice person to talk to and very kind too. I don't understand why the voting campaign is wrong. What is the problem to get Joe on the first place? Doesn't Joe deserve to be on the first place? I can't do it by myself. Just need some help from other fans (?).

SHELL If I could, I would give the 300 votes to Joe myself. I think that he is the greatest guitarist at this moment in time. And being the way he is, Joe deserves every vote from every fan in any poll wherever in the world. But the Dutch Poll is the one I know off.

GUTTERbOY I'm not begging, I'm just running a campaign to get Joe on the right position in a Dutch guitarists Poll. No more, No Less

To every Joe Satriani Fan VOTE for Joe in a Dutch guitarists poll at http://gitaristen.pagina.nl and look for the item Top 20 gitaristen. click on it and you will enter the poll. Then look for the name of Joe Satriani and click on the round button on the right side of Joe's name. If it turns into a black point, scroll to the bottom of that page and click on the button which is named 'STEM'. If you have done that, you have voted for Joe. And you will see the results so far in a colourfull schedual.

Thank you for your cooperation.

John a.k.a Major Tom

P.S. After I have seen Joe perform and spoke to him, I'm more determind to proceed this campaign. In spite of all comments by other fans(?).

Hi everyone. I'm going on vacation starting tomorrow. I'll be flying to the St. Louis area to visit some relatives and all that good stuff. After spending a week with them, I'll be going on a week-long road trip with some of my family. We're going to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, the Baseball Hall Of Fame, and the Football Hall Of Fame. It should be fun. Ozzie Smith is being inducted into the baseball hall...he was a St. Louis Cardinals player, so that's the purpose of the trip. Anyway, it should be a lot of fun. I'll have occasional internet access while I'm gone, but I won't be posting too much. So maybe someone will jump into the lead with the most posts...haha.

Is anyone in the LA area going to the Dio / Scorpions / Deep Purple concert at the Greek Theater on 8/4/02? I'll be driving down to see that show, as I'll be on vacation when they're in Northern California. It'd be cool to meet some JS fans...

I forgot to mention something about the webcast. Joe mentioned it was his birthday yesterday, so the crowd sang to him before The Headless Horseman.

shell - I have no idea why I didn't edit the first post...LOL.

dragonchild - The backwards thing happens in all kinds of songs by all different artists. My favorite example of it is in Aerosmith's Sweet Emotion. They use a drum, cymbal, and hand clap in reverse. Anyway... You don't like Mind Storm? Interesting. That's ok though, everyone has their own tastes. Maybe it'll grow on you.

Danzel - Joe is playing Oriental Melody on this tour.

guitarded boy - I'm sure Jon will get to making a new one soon.

Beach Bum - List yourself as attending your show on the road page, you might win aftershow passes.

evbro - There is no such thing as a fresh start on this message board...LOL. Thanks for the info about the Engines Of Creation teaser...I knew I forgot to mention one.

alien32 - When Joe introduces himself, he says "My name's still Joe".

The Local Person - When I was listening to the webcast, it cut out towards the end of Friends. When it came back on, Joe was doing the jam. I have no idea if it was a part of Friends or a completely new song or what, LOL. Oh well.

Daniel Australia - You can find that song on Morpheus / Kazaa by searching for "Heart Of The Sun". Officially, though, that song is untitled. The phrase "heart of the sun" was taken from the caption of a picture in the article that the song came with. It's a reference to Pink Floyd.

Thoughts are slowly coming together on SBM...

Matt - Thanks a bunch. After that video, which was basically pure shred, I am planning working on nothing but musicality. That was just to get all the shred out of my system. I have a few song idea to record (4 I think) and send your way to get some feedback. Keep me posted on your next projects and hopefully, talk to you soon.

Austin, have a safe, fun trip. Be prepared for the HUGE load of posts here when you get back. I was gone for 4 1/2 days and have 460 posts to sift through. It will probably hit 500 till I get to it tomorrow. If you have net access while your gone, remember the last page you read so you can start from there and not have to sift through stuff you've already seen. Man, this is crazy!!

JOE, hope you had a great birthday!! Love ya!

hey major tom-- i salute your enthusiasm, but politely request that if you want to keep posting messages to have people vote for joe in that contest that you do it a little less frequently. at most, once or twice a week. more than that and it does more harm than good for most folks here... thanks!

ethn--- as unpleasant as it might be, i believe there is public transport (train + BART + AC transit bus) out to the concord pavilion. granted, it's been a *long* time since i used that, but i'd hope it was still an option!

Austin, have a great vacation and thanks for your comments. Don't forget to pack your SBM! :) And drive/fly carefully!

I missed the webcast too with only so much... when I finally got the connection up and running they had turned all the lights on and people were leaving the arena. Oh well, I'll grab it when the excellent webmaster puts it up here soon.

My own vacation is coming up too in a few weeks. I'll be going to the island Crete in Greece, lots of sun, bath and good food! And plenty of exquisite guitar music too...... my suitcase will be jammed with CD's!

JS Clone 1 - Ok, so your thoughts are coming together. But can you at least give us a :-) or a :-( as far as SBM is concerned? I'm getting worried about you...LOL.

michelle - Believe me, I have given a lot of thought to how I can keep myself from getting lost on T2J. I wonder if it would work if I emailed the cookies to myself and downloaded them in St. Louis...hmmm... ;-)

Ya Yo Gakk - I'm not really a Dio or Scorpions fan, but I love Deep Purple. I've been putting off seeing them for a long time, so that's why I'm driving down to LA. It's the last night of the US tour, so it should be pretty cool.
