Thanks guys for checkin out the music! I really appreciate it qutie a bit. I know it's been a while since we had anything and I really didn't know if anyone was still interested in what I was doing and all! Thank you once again for taking the time to have a listen and share your thoughts with me...

death cube - Awsome man! I gotta hear the mastered version! Link me up bud! :)

climber - Thanks man! Finally some criticism!! I agree with you whole heartedly. I jump back to that same hook in the melody line way too much. The tune needs to breathe. Back to the blue prints for this one :) Thank you very much for you feedback and most welcome criticism. You are absolutly right!

JS Clone 1 - Always kind words from you Rich. And always something to make me sit back and smile. Thank you so much for the support man, you know I appreciate it...

Well! I gotta get some sleep for work in the a.m.! G'nite...

funnily enough, yesterday was also my 17 1/3 birthday..... well, it's still today in America, but it's tomorrow in the UK. What on earth am I doing awake? Oh yeah, guitar practice.

It's come to my attention that Major Tom is amongst the most regular posters. Despite nearly every one of the posts being the same.

Stu not boo So you mean you weren't the first one to discover the thing about the Vai-box? Hmmm... I guess I'll have to tear down that altar I built in your honor... LOL Nah, just kidding. My thanks to everyone ever posting anything about it...

For anyone else that cares, here is the first part of my SBM-review. Just a precaution: I don't play guitar, or any other instruments. I just love the guitar and how it can be played in so many different styles, but I'm no expert in any sense...

ORIENTAL MELODY- The opening is very exotic and suggestive, only to thrashed apart by an awesome riff that I really like, and then the song just grows on you. Definitely one of my favorites on the album. But the ending is a bit sudden.

BELLY DANCER- I can't make up my mind about this song, do I like it or not? For the most part it's nothing special to me, but I like the part 0.57-1.37, and the immediate part after that is good too. Austin, what do you mean with backward drums? In what sense are they backwards?

STARRY NIGHT- A very catchy song, sounds almost "pop" to me (but I guess that's a forbidden word here LOL). I like 2.40-3.25, especially the first part where the acoustic tone is more apparent. I agree with Austin that this is a good choice for a single, it could easily get to the top of the charts if they would only play it...

More to follow soon... Any comments?

Clarky - You use the train to get to the Bush? That's a bit unorthodox isn't it? Do the ladies like that approach? lol. There's a new tune at my IUMA, by the way. It'd be cool if you could check it out...

JSC1 - Have you mailed me those vids yet? I haven't recieved anything...

Neil.

this new album is great BUT... i have something to say: listening to all joe's discography i think joe repeats some solos in some songs. i listened to SBM with 'open mind' and i was very surprised when listening to the solos 'cause i thought 'i had listened this notes before...' my mother says: DO YOURSELF IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO IT BETTER! .......... she also likes satch music too (... not music but ART) and she's joking about me!

anyway, i think this is an album to discover, it has a lot of hidden things, it's a little big change in satch's style, so much harder in songs like seven string and so much soft in ballads (belly dancer)... a great job that HAS TO BE in my collection.

congratulations!

It is Stu not Boo: "Cant get a good internet connection in Europe".....haha! We're not THAT backward in Europe!!(Except maybe in Holland, where they're a bit deaf!!)... (No offence intended, my best friend is Dutch!!:))

sharon: dont panic...anyone in Shepherd's Bush will tell you where the Empire is, it's not that big a place! Just watch where all the crowds are heading for.....by the way, I suspect we will be queuing, not drinking pre-show......

PhyrDom: we will definitely be at the Grey Horse , Kingston tonight with ticket money...

webmaster - Thanks for the ecard thing. It's pretty cool.

sharon - That's cool about your dog. Is Surfing... still the best song for him?

satch3d - Ok, I downloaded the new one. It sounds really cool.

gruskada - I don't think there are any liner notes. I do know that the records were originally shipped to radio stations and included a black and white picture of Joe. I think each picture was autographed. I don't know if this is included with the one you found on Ebay, though. Joe talked about this on Rockline with Steve before the last G3 tour.

JS Clone 1 - Was SBM worth the wait? :-)

Damn Straight - Yeah, that's me. I'm huge. I wonder if I scared Joe.

Ya Yo Gakk - I assume you will share the commercial if you get a copy, right? ;-)

dragonchild - There are backwards drums in Belly Dancer. You can hear them about 2 or 2 and a half minutes into the song. I don't have the CD handy now, but I can give you an exact time later if you want. The drums and cymbals have a sucking sound to them. It's actually quite easy to do the backwards thing. Jeff can play a simple drum pattern that is recorded normally. It then can be played back on tape in reverse and be mixed into the rest of the song. Joe then can listen to it normally and the drums will be backwards, and he can add the solo on top of it. If you can record WAV files on your computer, make a recording of the solo section that I'm talking about. Open it with the Windows Sound Recorder, and there is an option under one of the menus that lets you reverse it. Once reversed, you can hear a "normal" drum and cymbal pattern. Cool, huh?

shell - I know Europe isn't that backwards. What I meant, was that because Joe usually visits the site while he's on his bus or on a plane, he most likely has a wireless internet connection of some sort. What I'm saying is that maybe Joe's computer or wireless connection isn't working in Europe because it's so far from home.

I'm sorry for the double post, everyone.

hi all, I've just watched a top concert on cable here in Australia. It was a concert featuring Joe, Steve Vai, Brian May and others in Puerto Rico. Can anyone tell me where I can get a copy of maybe the DVD of this concert. It was THE BEST concert and sickest guitar work I've ever seen. What was it called ???? Thanks ANDREW

Stu not boo OK, I see what you mean now, I just listened to Belly Dancer again and now that you've pointed it out to me I can hear it. I just didn't realize how they did it. It's a cool effect and it reminds me of some other song from Joe, but I can't remember the name now... Pretty well known, I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about. Oh well, I'll just have to listen through every song until I find it... There are worse things than that! LOL

Part two of the review coming up soon......

I have a problem - I've been to the QuickTime website to try to download the software to watch the forthcoming webcast, but every download available says a Mac system is required. Does this mean you must have a Mac computer to use Quick Time, or am I being more stupid than the time somebody asked if Joe Satriani was a good guitar player? Please help, or I'll post this message more times than Major Tom could possibly imagine.
