NonSmoker Check this comic out, maybe it'll help you... or maybe not. It's kinda funny anyway. Hang in there, you have almost made it a week now.....

Here's another "Did you know?" from me:

Putting the chrome on Chromeboy is not easy at all. First, the chrome needs to be melted and kept at melting point, any hotter and it will be just a 'zing' before the wood bursts into flames. Then the wood has to be coated with a layer of catalyst so the chrome goes on top of the wood instead of just sliding right off or burn little holes in the wood. The catalyst makes the chrome stick onto the wood in just a matter of seconds, so the wood can't be dipped in chrome more than 3 or so seconds.

The amount of metal added to a guitar also changes the tone a lot. The chrome tends to 'stiffen' the guitar a lot and makes it pretty 'hard' and 'solid'. It takes time for metal and wood to blend well.

Anyway, hope you found that interesting. That's it for today!

hi joe! hope everything is going ok for you, just one thing though.I,ve been a regular attendant at your scottish dates ever since you played the barrowlands way back in 90! will you be coming to scotland soon? As there was no scottish date on your latest tour dates. Both myself & a few other loyal fans were a bit disapointed not seeing a scottish date on the gig list, hopefully we shall see you in the near future good luck with the rest of the tour!!!

JOE....I know you cant release a DVD of every tour, but you really should release one of your recent European Tour. I have seen you in concert four times now in DUBLIN, and that setlist is by far the best I've heard yet. The new stuff from SBM was awesome live. Nice to see the old classics return as well. Please Please release a DVD of it, or even a CD

Austin - We think the answer to the dollar question is that in 1990 they made a silver one, not a very exciting answer but there it is. Wont find out for a few days if it is the correct one.

JOE - I have a complaint about the t shirts - when you wash them you have to iron them I HATE IRONING AAAAHHH. When you tour again can I come and be your official head shaver. I'll be careful, promise.

hi joe my name is billy .......on ur last dvd at the called live at the filmore the out take u talked about ur finger tips keeping them hard, the way i mine hard is to dip the tips in surgical spirit or rubbing alcohol and drying them with a convector heater ,hair dryer does just as well. only takes seconds and tightens and harden the finger tips up while the cod liver oil in the alcohol or spirit stops them drying and cracking.i have done it for years with no adverse affects.WRITE BACK TO ME UR OPINION ON THIS PLZ...AND ANY MORE TIPS U HAVE EVEN THO I HAVE ALL UR BOOKS ALREADY... ..thanx alot Billy from DUNDEE. :o)

Chrome is a coating metal - It is too soft to be solid - If the chromeboy was saolid chrome it would twist under the string tension, then it wouldn't sound too good ;) - but as it is only a coating and because Satch plays it - It sounds incredible!!!

By the way - chexk ebay for 'chromeboy' there is a company that will take any guitar body and 'chrome' it for $65.00!!!

If you ever want a new toy :)

Joe, your music is profound and gorgeous. Your music moves my soul in unique and special ways as both an expansion of consciousness and a statement of very personal emotions. If I could presume to make one suggestion about the web site, it would be to ask you if you could kindly bring back the section of your site where you talk about the specs of your guitar and how you set it. The sensibilities of a maestro such as yourself are too valuable to lose! Peace out, o six stringed one.

Speaking of Chromeboy, I was watching that 1990 bootleg of mine and Chromeboy was sooo shiny back then. No tape between the pickups yet either.

JOE - PLEASE play MEMORIES and HORDES OF LOCUSTS at Toronto on August 31st! For the Clones pretty please??? Maybe it's asking for too much but Joe, I was watching a bootleg I have of you playing Toronto in 1990 on the FIABD tour. It was an excellent show. You were so so energetic and into the songs and you moved more. Also every now and then between songs you have have little jams with Stu. For instance after the Crush of Love if you remember... I will make a cd with that tour on as a video. Hopefully you will find time to watch it.

NonSmoker: Hang on in there! After 3 days your body is free of nicotine & you've cracked the physical addiction! The psychological addiction takes much longer......3 weeks is another danger point, then just when you think you're through it 3 months is another! At Nicotine Anonymous we got little badges for one week etc....I was so proud when I got my 12 months, then 2 year badge!!..Working towards my 5 year badge now.....
