MMMindSSStorm Thanks for your comment. First of all I agree that it is wrong to compare guitarists (I wrote that in one of my messages).

In the the early sixties and seventies there were some magazines that did polls in those days. Or there were some radio campaigns. And Eric became #1 for his work with John Mayall, The Yardbirds, Cream. Jimi Hendrix was a great fan of Eric clapton. Jan Akkerman took over #1 during his work with Focus. And like I've said before TO ME Joe is the greatest guitarist for this moment in time.

Yes, the poll is a small one. And a little known. But if more and more people vote or even visit the site, its populairity will rise.

The question in that poll is not "Who is the best guitarist" but "what guitarplayer impressed you the most". So it's not to compare guitarists (like the BBC poll of 1993), but a little bit some kind of a personal question. BTW it's not MY website or MY poll.

I enjoy the music of Joe very much. And think he is a very nice person too. So that is why I vote.

Naty - you lucky thing, hols for 4 weeks, going somewhere nice? Have a good holiday. Which JS shirt did you have. Glad you have some new servants, those shirts do need ironing once washed.

Phyrg Dominant - what country are you from, it doesn't say on the list. Doesn't matter anyway, post the funny stuff.

Wildwayz - Joe is my wallpaper at work too, I need something exciting to look at whilst at work for the boring, need a firecracker up your backside Council.

The Local Person - glad you have an inheritance to tap into, you lucky kid. I had to go straight to work for my pennies. Satch fans, met Mr Huxley at Shepherd's Bush - very polite person. Good luck with you playing local person.

Nighty night everybody,

Joe, just before I go off to bed I just want to say, memories of my first Satch concert live are still rolling round in my head. You played stuff that I'm particularly fond of and I loved Midnight, could have listened to that just a bit longer. Hats off to the rest of the band. What teamwork.

Thanks for giving us a great time.

Hey Joe! Glad Europe went well for the crew. From the pictures it looks like you guys had a blast. been a little under the weather so i've been listening to the studio album from Time Machine lately for a cure, Great album! I'm a bit surprised you don't play stuff from it more often. Not sure I'm going to the american gigs because I'm a bit dissapointed that you aren't playing a full set, but i'll definately catch ya when you come through by yourself again. peace signs- CJ

Thank you for you comments. It's always fun to read the reactions about the little poll. And because the site is Dutch, it would be great to get Joe on the first place in stead of Jan Akkerman. And that I cannot do by myself. That is why I started the little campaign about voting for Joe in a Dutch Poll. If I knew of any other guitarists poll, with Joe in the list, I would go to that site and vote. But the Dutch one is the one I know of. Second in the list? The question in the poll is 'what guitarist impressed you the most'. So that is a personal question. And if you notice the many, many links to even more guitarplayers, it's not astonishing that 'not in the list' has a lot of votes. Before i knew Joe's music I voted 'not in the list' because I was impressed by Jeff Healy.

And you are right to say that 20 (or 19) guitarists doesn't do right to all those other great guitarists. And I do have some serious plans to contact the webmaster about the poll. And about some other stuff about the whole site. I got a vacation now, so i have some more time to do these things.

And right, if Joe gets on the first place, that doesn't proove anything but one thing, that most people who have voted were the most impressed by Joe Satriani. That would be nice. No more No less.

But explain me, why is it worse to say Joe impressed me the most as a guitarist? Why is that so wrong to say? Or why is it wrong to make people aware of the fact that somewhere in the world there is a poll where they ask "what guitarist impressed you the most". And if you like you can vote. What is wrong about that. Or is it wrong to make people aware of the music of joe Satriani. Or other great guitar music? (I consider myself a great guitar music fan, more than a Joe Satriani fan). The poll won't do wrong to anybody. The poll isn't perfect, but then again, WHAT IS? There's nothing to proove. It's just FOR FUN. And even if Clapton or any other guitarist would get on the first place? SO WHAT? It means that there are more people impressed by Eric clapton and voted in that poll. So What? I think it's rather strange that some (fans?) are 'annoyd' because they are made aware of a guitarists poll where they can vote for Joe.

Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie are guitarists. That I know. But as for Jesus, I have never heard that he was a guitarplayer.

And yes, those who know me personal, think that I am a nice person. Persistant sometimes.

Nikos, no hard feelings. But don't ask me to stop being a Joe Satriani fan who makes other Joe satriani fans aware of the fact that they can vote in a (Dutch) guitarist poll. And the number of the votes increases every day.

Major Tom

P.S. Have you all noticed, that I do not ask in this message to vote for Joe?

The commnet I made above yours still stands. You didnt cover me.

The Jesus comment though was a good one.

When I say it's annoying I mostly mean is that we shouldnt let this message queue grow easily because then it gets tiring to follow and read what everyone writes. We should treat it with economy. All of us.

Anyway, be sure that there are no (never) hard feelings involved. Even these posts are just for fun.

BUT STOP ANNOYING US!!!! Just a joke.

Michelle, thanks for your encouragement :) I'm noticing already that I can smell and taste foods better, also because I'm eating my refrigerator empty. I need to do something to keep my mind off it...I might as well eat..lol! I have excellent metabolism so I'm not gaining any weight. The funny thing, is that a guy at work smokes, and I cant stand the smell of it, its sickening. I'm taking that as a positive sign :)

JBlaze1, impacted ears sounds painful..."ouch". A while back my hearing was starting to fade. Also, I've been deaf in my right ear since I was a baby (ear infections..etc), so it was especially noticable for me. I went and had them looked at and found out they needed to be cleaned. The nurse flushed out my ear with semi-hot water and (this is gross), pulled out a chunk of dust/earwax/sawdust (I work at a sawmill) out of my ear about the size of a quarter! I dont know how I was able to hear at all...nasty.

OK so now that everyone has lost their appetite....haha, have a great weekend everyone.......You Too Joe :)

Hey dudes...

Lay off MAJOR TOM ok?

He has stopped posting his poll now, he's just trying to communicate with other satch fans like the rest of us.

But you are starting to question him about the poll, you wanted him to shut up about it one time. Just be nice

Do as the Joe do eh? :)
