Joe, that picture of you and Steve Morse is great! Looks like you were having a blast!
Looking forward to the tour ... try and slip The Forgotten (II) into the setlist if possible. Thanks!

HI Joe, I see you were on today, thanks again for the excellent show in Manchester, England, you get better all the time. I've also met Deep Purple! I did the review for the local paper in February, I got to meet and talk with all band members, especially Steve Morse whose also an exeptional guitarist, they really do kick ass don't they. Anyway, thanks for the years of enjoyment and the new album is just corkin. Please come back to England asap. C Ya.

Yep Joe! but that's the thing... You must have one of the coolest jobs around... you can take holidays and vacations anytime you want... And while you're on tour, you get to travel to new and exciting places all the time... Playing on stage with a bunch of bands, it's not like you're risking an injury before you get back to work or anything... well, ok maybe one thing... DEAFNESS...
On another note..... Anyone else having a problem with IUMA?? you can't upload any tracks right now...

On another note Joe... was that "Guiness" Jeff and you were drinking in Dublin??? Good stuff but.... A buddy of mine drinks that stuff nearly everyday.... And he wonders why he has so many stomach problems.... Jeez.... lets put it this way.... If it's Black, don't drink it everyday, can't be good for the kidneys after long steady exposure... Later... And Cheers!! hee hee

Hey, I'm new to this site, but remember the day when my dad and I were driving in our rental car, listening to Surfing with the Alien on cassette. Ever since hearing that song, I've liked his music. I'm trying to learn guitar now, and was wondering if there were any official tablature on his songs? I'm in the process of learning Tears in the Rain =) , the only thing is I've seen two different versions of this song :-/ It would be awesome if there were official tabs on this site! =) thanks guys, Great Job.

Joe - Was it planned for you play with them on stage or spontaneous?
Joe, any chance for Memories or Hordes of Locusts for the August 31st Toronto if not the N.A. tour?

Joe: I'm exstatic you could jam with those Purple guys! Wish we could have all been there. Record that stuff!!!??? Narface. I think the felt picks are for dulcimers(sp) , but I'm not sure. Seems to be a fuzzy dice kind of pick. I just remembered that there is an acoustic guitar in the Smithsonion, a solid granite, comes with stand...WAY to heavy to wear!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed on the guitar contest. Matt: What was the name of that song you posted here. I can't seem to find it now. Thanx KTF

WoW..Joe, Reno is beautiful, I'm sure you had a blast. Have you ever thought about jamming with those "BLUE GUYS", you know the dudes on the intel commercial? That would be strange indeed. If you ever get the chance to see them don't let it slip away, they are awesome.

Hey Joe, I'm exceptionally jazzed about the gig coming up on the 13th of August. It will be the first time I have ever seen you live. I have a friend in Ft. Collins Colorado whose birthday is the 11th and it's my gift to him to take him to see the show. It will be his second time.
I was very inspired by what you said in an interview about knowing every note and scale and being able to decipher the sound without having to look at it. I went home last night and played from 6:45pm till almost 2am working on my scales and sweeps. I'm not kidding myself and I will not avoid putting in the work that it requires.
I, like you, started at 14 (playing now for more than half my life) and am completely self-taught. I'm a bit unorthodox and probably make quite a few mistakes with my technique. What would it require for me to get even a few hours of lessons from you? Whatever it takes to learn from the best, to become one of the best, I'll do it. Let me know please. Thank you.
Sincerely, Drew.

Yippee!! Joe posted! I'm as happy as a little boy hearing about Santa Clause again! I was listening to Crushing Day & it reminded me of those opening songs for cartoons like Robotek, Voltron, etc. during the 80's! Ooohh, those were the days...

Wow Joe, you're popping in on your hols, what a way to spend it, how different is it to play a different style of music to your own? I've still got some old Scorpion vynyl stuff somewhere.
Naty - speeding aye, I slowed down when my kids started to tell people I drove at warp 9 speed.
Michelle - we must have all looked like that, I still can't believe we were stood just six foot away from Joe.
JOE - my son went to work yesterday with one of your shirt's on and not one person knew who you were. Why oh Why aren't your promoters advertising you a bit more in the UK. Bands do advertise their new albums on our TV screens and I am convinced beyond all shadow of doubt that just a few bars from some of your songs on tV would have music lovers flocking to the local shops to buy your stuff.
Tell your promoters to get their finger out Joe.
LOL sharon

I saw the blue man group a couple years ago. the show was just awesome and the music was so cool, probably because it was just instrumental. if joe was blastin the barre chords in the backround, that would be a sight to see.

Technical type question about the Chrome JS guitars...
I just read in Guitar World about a problem with these guitars and the paint peeling off, because it doesn't adhere to the wood very well. I'm just curious...do they finish-coat the guitars at all? I'm wondering if they ever tried special clear-coat finishes--maybe like automotive--to get a thick enough finish on top so it doesn't peel off so easily?
