Hello Joe Satriani,

I was born here in Seattle Wash 1962.april.

I live here in seattle,

my ? is:

Are you going to play or tour up here ? If yes when do you think.

PS my brother Gabriel ( Named after the Arch Angel) turn me on too your music,

After having visited all his loved ones on easter sunday , while walking home in West Seattle, Washington.

He was robed at gun point, excuted in the head with a 357 magnum, barried in a shallow grave 45 feet from the main city side walk on Spokane street in West seattle. He had been missing for a year.

He was mured by a transient who lived near by.

That was April of 1996.

I wrote him a song called Gabreils Horn.

Rafael ( another Archangle name.) AKA the cabroa.

Thank you

Joe.

Always with you, always with me.

He turned me on to your STRANGE AND BEAUTIFUL MUSIC.

Cabrao - Oh for real man? How long was it until you found out what happened?

Edit - Barrie, you posted about 2 seconds before me so I didn't see it.

This guitar is amazing. I haven't foudn one thing that I don't like. The 555 had been sitting in the case for several months. I'd say about half a year at least. I still haven't done anything with my 7V but I think I may soon.

It's pretty much set up but out of tune because I tried to block the bridge. I was thinking of taking the trem setter from my new S520LTD and installing it in my 7V. 3 small holes in the rear route is no problem but then my new S doesn't have one.

Joe... New album is STELLAR, loved every track right from the beginning! Can't wait to see ya live in PHX Aug. 8th. Oh, one question... Was there any particular reason why you did not collaborate with Stu Hamm on the new release?

Hey everyone, I just got out of an 8am Monday morning 3 hour lecture, so I'm pretty damn tired.

Kicked them all out of the venue 11pm last night after the bands. We had so many people, I suppose it pays to advertise. We had 3 bands after we got hold of one band to replace some pikers that pulled out 3 days before. The first band brought their own sound guy who changed everything weird, they started 20 minutes late, they went way overtime and the singer had a habit of disrespecting the mic stands. They played well though, after we re-levelled. Took us ages to set up the amps and stuff back how we wanted them for the second band (the ring-ins) and we had stuff all over the place. Disgusting. We were running out of time, so they only played about 30 minutes. They had another gig earlier in the night so they were warmed up already.

AND THEN, after 10 minutes of changeover business including a CD player that wouldn't cooperate and floodlights that blew, we welcomed back our regular attenders "Half Cushion" after their brief stage absence. And they blew us away with new songs. It was awesome. My mate is the drummer, and he had the hihats almost 45 degree angle, he was playing so hard. As a group, they are so tight, heavy and melodic and they only ever play originals. Multiple strings went flying...

Good night overall, but went too late. I was up the back with earplugs, and the drums un-miked hurt my ears. Sympathy for the moshers.

This was my "almost-interesting-personal-anecdote"

BEN

And here's another:

Yesterday was my flatmate's 24th birthday so when he exited the bathroom I called out: "BEN!"

I then pressed play on my CD player, and played him the Martin/Molloy track where they sing happy birthday to "Pieface" (Mick Molloy's mum) while MR METHANE does his thing. He said that was the best happy birthday he'd received...Heh heh heh...

BEN (the other one)

PS if you don't know, Mr Methane is this guy that can fart songs (anything really) at will.

Mr Nick:Cool, let us know what you think of the new JS2000.

J_brozt:Your never too old to start playing guitar. There is no way to increase your speed quickly, but with some practice and time you can increase your speed a lot. Yes using a metronome is crucial to increasing speed. A good book to get is "Speed Mechanics for the Lead Guitar" By: Troy Stetina

Thanks, Nonsmoker, I'll check that out. But is that $3000 US? That's equivalent to just over $5000 Australian! I wouldn't want to milk my parents that much!

It seems some Aussies are still searching for SBM, so once again I'll recommend JB HiFi for ayone in reach of one. They had 7 copies of SBM on the shelves when I bought mine!

As for Metallica filling the shoes of Led Zep... Don't make me laugh! I'm a Metallica fan, but I don't for a moment think that Metallica's awesome Metal and Pain- ballads (If that's an appropriate term) can match the mind- blowing diversity and innovation that characterized Led Zeppelin over the years. I've just bought Led Zeppelin 1 through 4, and they are 100% killer, 0% filler! Folk, Blues, Metal, Hard Rock, even Neo- Classical - They did everything, and they did it all in style. Besides, As brilliant as metallica's albums from '83 to '91 are, they haven't produced anything new for over 5 years. As far as I'm concerned, they had it great until the Black album, then started slipping very fast. Just my opinion, though!

Peace, All!

Higain

cabrao: there are certain things, a smell, a place, a sound that remind me of loved ones who have passed away and I'm very thankful when they come. I can see that one of those certain things for you and Gabriel is Joe. Turn them speakers up full blast, play it all night long!

jblaze1: now that you mention it, yeah I can hear some Jeff Beck in there as well.

stu hacking: you should check out Taj Mahal(Folk Blues), I love this guy. He is the ultimate story teller. I just discovered that Taj and Ry Cooder did an album together some years ago, I haven't heard anything from that album but I'm sure it's worth a listen. Have you heard of Michael Hedges?

Hey all (and Joe if I'm lucky enough to have u reading this),

I was just wondering if there will be any shows ever in Australia? I'm not sure if there has been a Joe Satriani show in Australia before. Well, I guess there has been a few in the past but I just want to see if there will be one in the future? Well if anyone gets a chance to make Australia an option on any future tours then please let it be heard! We kinda get forgotten down here sometimes! I was really annoyed when The Smashing Pumpkins didn't include us on there final tour but you know, I guess some times things just can't happen. Anyway thanks for reading this far!!!

Just Me Again

1 post total | IP Logged

For about ten years now, I've been dreaming of a co-production by Joe Satriani and Tuck Andress, my two all-time favorite guitar players. (Followed by Jimi Hendrix, Eddie van Halen, Steve Vai, Django Reinhardt and Joe Pass, to name a few legends). Joe is known for his cutting edge style in playing. Of course, this has all to do with Floyd Rose whammy bar dives, hammer-ons, pull-offs, tapping and being possessed by aliens occaisionally.

Tuck Andress uses a different approach, allthough 'not-of-this-earth' as well. The genre is qiut different, but you should really take the time to listen and analyse his approach. In one take, Tuck records some beautiful music, to witch his wife Patti sings with a beatiful voice. But what does Tuck do?Actually, everything!

He plays the melody, the chorus and the bassline at the same time! Then, on top of that he plays the rythm too, by strumming and slapping the beat! Believe me, this requires a lot of sliding and bending (etc.) but at the first place a lot of knowledge and flexibility to play the correct chords and notes, having only ten fingers just like the most of us.

I really hope Joe and the rest of the crew consider to hook up with Tuck, for music's sake! Tuck is about just as open minded about music as Joe is. I think it would lead to a very interesting exchange of thougts. Too bad Jimi isn't aroud to make it an even bigger feast.

CHack out more about Tuck & Patti at their website. An interessting page to start, would be:

http://www.tuckandpatti.com/guitarsound.html

E-you later and keep on loving music, everybody!
