My picks rarely touch the pickguard - but maye that's just because of les paul design?
I use 1mm picks and strum fairly straight down

Could someone please e-mail me the new setlist as soon as the US leg of the tour starts. It'll be interesting to hear what changes are made from the European leg.
I'd really love a live CD of the European set, but chances of an official one are slim to say the least. Therefore the chances of getting a good quality bootleg are greater from the US leg.

Greetings Master Joe!
I've never been so happy in being late in finding out that you do have a web site... Although sad in the same time because your so far away from my country... I'm one of your in-direct students. Constantly hungry for more anorthodox guitar wizardry!
You were the energy behind making me want to play the guitar from the heart.
The first time I was stuck by your lightning was in Mackinac Island Michigan back in 1988...
Surfing with the Alien was introduced to me by a friend... I became more hungry with your guitarworks like my own supply of oxygen. Master please consider comming to my country someday....that would be my ultimate dream to get a chance to see you in a live concert... If and when you do consider to visit my country the Philippines, it will be my greatest honor to be your slave & host.....
Your unknown student,
Gandharva

Dear Master Joe,
If there was a chance in heaven.....would you actually consider taking me as a student?
Is it posible for you to actually teach me even through the net or any audio or video format?
I will never be able to afford the lessons in realty....Just like i'll probably never get to see you live...
A'm hopeless I guess...
Still waiting for the release of your Strage Beautiful Music!!
If you already have an existing site where i can actually check the notes that i'm posibly or should I say "definately playing wrong" please let me know..Thanks
I'll be constantly checking for a response from you.
Sincerely,
Gandharva

Yes. YES! OH YES!!! I got them, the tickets. THey have arrived and I'll be in Denver to listen to Joe on August 13th. I'm so jazzed. This will be th first time I've heard Joe live and the second time for my Bro. It's a birhtday gift to him from me to see this show. I've been a Satch fan as well as a Dream Theater fan for a long time and to see them both on the same stage in the same night will be a highlight of my life.
Joe, thank you for your inspiration! And I quote, "Play what you want to play, you've got to know every note, every scale, you've got to be able to decipher the sound without having to look at it, and anyone that is trying to avoid putting in the kind of work that is required is kidding themselves." Joe Satriani.
That is my new mantra for life! I've been playing for 15 years and that is the most inspirational thing that I have ever read.
Peace, Love and Joe.

More Funny Stuff
It's an old un but still tickles me.
Subject: When the body was first made...
When the body was first made, all parts wanted to
be the Boss. The Brain said, "Since I control
everything and do all the thinking, I should be
Boss". The Hand said, "Since I must do all the
work and earn all the money to keep the rest of
you going, I should be Boss". The Eyes said,
"Since I must look out for all of you and tell
you where the danger lurks, I should be Boss."
And so it went with the Heart, the Ears, the
Feet, the Lungs, and finally the Asshole spoke up
and demanded to be the Boss. All other parts
laughed at the idea of the Asshole being Boss.
The Asshole was so enraged that he blocked
himself off and refused to function. Soon the
Brain was feverish, the Eyes crossed and ached,
the Feet were too weak, the Hands hung limply at
the side, the Heart and Lungs struggled just to
keep going. All pleaded with the Brain to let the
Asshole be Boss. And so it happened. All the
other parts did all the work and the Asshole just
bossed around and passed out a lot of shit.
The Moral of the story: You don't have to be a
brain to be the boss. You just have to be an
asshole.
LOL Sharon

JBlaze I have used a penny to pick with although found this quite hard to use. Is a penny thicker than a nickel? I found I always dropped the penny, although if you scrape it along the strings then it sounds good.
Sharon Sorry you had to wait so long for the concert. Bet it was worth the wait though. You could of kept the queue amused by telling them you jokes though.
Does anyone have any suggestions on an amp to buy. I have got about £400 to spend and need one for doing gigs and stuff. Any suggestions would be good.
See ya

Sharon, that "boss" joke will be in my bosses hand this evening, I promise you. LMAO!! He'll get a kick out of it. Good stuff - keep it coming!
I just took my kids to see Austin Powers in Goldmember. OMG, I laughed so hard I cryed! It started out a little slow, but after the first 5 min. or so, I was rolling. I HIGHLY recommend it. Anybody else see it yet?

Hello everyone!
I entered to win the guitar signed by Joe. I was surprised that it was'nt a JS-1000....it looks to me like an S-520 with the mahoghany body, I thought Ibanez discontinued that model.
Anyhow, it would be cool to win an axe with his signature.
Mr. Luini (webmaster), has there been any news about the contests that are supposed to happen here? I'm curious as to what kind of things are being given away......Thanks, Dave
