Anibur, S. Francisco is 3 hours behind NY, so if it's 6:00 here on the east coast, it's only 3:00 in Satchland. Hope that helps. As for my neighbor, I can only feel sad for her. She's been hypnotized, used the patch, and spent a few hundred dollars on different methods to quit smoking. The last time she tryed, she was so miserable, bitchy & depressed, that nobody could stand her. I had a conversation with her one time and told her I knew every time she sat out back. I told her that no matter what room I'm in, I can smell her smoke (I didn't say it in a nasty way, and I was laughing when I said it ~ She smokes EVERY time she steps outside.) She got all uppity and refused to believe that I could smell ANY of her smoke coming in my open windows. LOL!! Reminds me of when I would smoke a cig in the school bathroom when I was a teen, then wonder HOW the teacher could smell it on me when I would come back to class. Smokers have no idea..... lol! And I know because I used to be one!

hiya Joe, can't wait 'til thursday!

2 Ton - Hedges was a genius! It's sad that he's not with us anymore. I love his music, much in the way I love Joe's.

stu_hacking - Hedges was always classified as "New Age", but he really couldn't be classified. He was simply original.

If you like Hedges, check out the stuff that Michael Manring has done, he played bass with Hedges, they we're kindred spirits. He is a little known "best kept secret" of the Bay area. I'm sure Austin knows all about him.

Take care all. Kell

michael hedges,on of the big five for me taproot is just it for me.i like live on the double planet too,but it has more of his singing, which isnt bad,but isnt great,to me.it is worth it for"because its there" alone.that is one of those songs that makes you just go all monk-like.and it promptly makes you dash for the repeat button in a panic, cuz its like, less than 3 minutes.why god, why?anyways,he is one of a kind, you owe it to yourself to check him out.DONT DOWNLOAD HIS STUFF! BUY THE ALBUM!HIS KIDS NEED THE MONEY!if you dont want a new one,try ebay or pawnshops, anything. had to say it ,sorry.

Well put ethn...... The first recording, of Michael's that I heard was "Aerial Boundaries" in '87. I was hooked. For me, every record was different and wonderful. I still choke up when I listen to "Oracle", "First Cutting" and "When I was Four". "i carry your heart" was played at my wedding as we walked out of church in '91. I did get to see him perform once and I'll never forget it.

I wonder what Joe has to say about working with Michael on Pat Martino's record? He's another great.......

What do you think about Larry Lalonde (Primus-guitars) another Satriani student, what a strange musician.

Funny to see students do their own weird thing even if their teacher was the greatest. He does not have Satch's style at all.

minus human - Lalonde is way cool. It shows that Joe was/is a great teacher in that most of his students are true to their own. Look at Charlie Hunter, he's way out there, also. He showed each of them how to bring out that inner voice that is uniquely their own, either by intention or by example. JUST A GUESS.

She knows just how big a fan I am of yours and she now is a Satch fan too!! Didn't take much brainwashing to get that one to happen!! *LOL* I've been very fortunate to be able to go to 8 shows so far!! I saw the first G3 at Concord Pavillion (before it was called G3!!) with some kid named Kenny Wayne(*L*), Eric Johnson, Steve Via and the great one......exceptional show!! I've caught you at various venue's around the West Coast but the best had to be at The Fillmore for the Live in San Francisco show......I was so lucky to be at the second show (which pretty much made up 100% of the DVD) and am on the DVD no less!! I just want to say Joe, you've have touched my life.......what you do with a guitar defies description.....simply put stunningly beautiful.......touching......from the heart and soul......I'm heading out at lunch to pick up Strange Beautiful Music so I can be ready for Sunday!!!! Keep it up Joe!!!!!!! Can't wait to hear the new stuff.......Eric, you kick bro!!! Thanks for the guitar picks at the Fillmore show!!!!!!!!! Your one hell of a shot with those.......hit me in my open hand twice.........I gave the 13 year old kid behind me with his Mom one of them......the kid almost welled up with tears....TOO COOL!!!!!!! That's what it is all about.........giving someone something they never have!!!!!! Later guys........see you at Concord Pavillion Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!

Quantam - Weird, mine has an Edge. The specs on my S540 LTD are different than the ones i'm reading about. The tremsetter is this little device mounted in the rear route (the spring cavity). It fits under the middle springs and has to springs itself around 2 small shafts that press against the trem block to give it tension. It gives it sort of a dead spot where it's harder to move. It prevents strings detuning when you bend one and let one ring or even if you break a string. Still stays in tune. Tuning is more stable and the tone and sustain is slightly improved as it's not completely free floating. I'm just unsure as to how to properly mount it. Under the springs, there is an extra route that is not on Jems or JS's. If you look under the springs of a Jem orJS, you'll notice the floor under the springs is flat. This has another small tier where 3 holes are drilled for screws to mount the tremsetter. I'm not sure if it's mounted on an angle or not. All I remember was that when I disassembled the guitar when I got home, I was so thrilled that I found a tremsetter, I took it out and leared how it worked and didn't bother to remember how it originally was... so dang.

Minus Human - Joe said himself, a good teacher doesn't try to influence the student but shows the student what he/she is capable of and showing them the best path to take to grow as a musician. Something along the lines of that.....

Joe - Any chance of MEMORIES or HORDES OF LOCUSTS to be played at the August 31st show in Toronto?
