hey austin-- i'm not sure, but i expect that the "aftershow" pass will start at the end of the entire show. wouldn't be so great to have fans miss the dream theater sets!
i'll be at the concord show so if you win the aftershow pass, make sure
to say hi. or if you're up close to stage since i might be shooting some photos or video. cheers!

JazzGuitar - Anytime, and anything for a fellow player!
Ah, bumming that I didn't win an aftershow pass, but STOAKED BEYOND WORDS about the show this Friday at Humphrey's here in San Diego. You people have to understand that there isn't a bad seat in the place, and it's outdoors, right off the bay. Almost as beautiful as Joe's music! Ha!
Catch you all later...

Joe - While you're in, I was wondering if there's any chance of Memories or Hordes of Locusts being played at Toronto August 31st show? If not, i'm sure the SBM material and Crushing Day will suffice. Also, Joe when listening to SBM time and time again, I noticed one of the influences in some of the tunes. Joe Satriani. Were you listening to some of your previous albums? Flying in a Blue Dream? Maybe even the self titled? A lot sounds familiar from the older days. When I listen to your later stuff, it does sound quite a bit different from the older days. I guess that's why I want to hear Memories or Hordes of Locusts live becaus I miss a lot of your older styles.

Hello Satch fans alike.
I have some new recordings done, and if anyone wants to check them out, then do so. They are periodically being approved on mp3.com So far a little jazz ditty called Restless is the only one up, but there are 3 more waiting! So yeah, if you've got a shovel and can dig it, go to

Stu Hacking... Stu not Boo, & others interested...
Stu is working on a third GHS, I think he said it would just be called GHS 3...
Anyway, he's really proud of this one fretless track he did on it... I'm real excited to hear it... it's called November.

HA! I love your sense of humor Joe! lol!
Oh yeah, myself and another Lister (Chris L.) have come up with a theory about your hair after reading your comment on the chat. We believe that you have transparent hair to match your transparent guitar, and indeed have taken on the whole Crystal Planet look :) However, I must warn you that a Crystal Planet clothing line would probably not go over very well...

Drafter37...i think hendrix is pretty overrated as well. im not saying he's bad, but the dude couldn't even read music. some songs are pretty tight like bold as love, little wing and so on and i don't really like the hippy thing.
what time signature is flavor crystal 7 in. alternating 4/4 and 3/4? 7/4? im just curious cause it's the best song ever.
Joe...you are right...you shouldn't sing. big bad moon is ok because the guitar and beat is awesome. and i really like the solo on crazy. but besides that...it gets a little iffy. i didn't really like the flying in a blue dream album except for...

Kda - Hendrix was great! Though I encourage every musician to learn to read music, it doesn't make one any more or less creative, especially in Jimi's case. It's difficult for me to understand how you cannot see what he did for guitar oriented music.
Not trying to start a great debate. I just have a hard time digesting your comment. Certainly, the media suffocated him.
I admit that I didn't "get" Hendrix from listening to what was aired on local radio. It wasn't until I bought his recordings that I realized how important he was.

You're right Evan. Joe takes on his time to even read the whole thing, there's so many messages, how can he possibly answer them all ?
Just keep asking your question once in a while and Joe will answer it. Just keep in mind that he does it just for us.
Joe : Eight Steps is nice but did you hear the final mix, near the ends it fades out and fades in again for 10secs, then fades out again... apparently it's not a defect, the sound doesn't completely fades out, I check a few other cds and same result. anyways, hope you took the time to relax, tks for being on the road for us... maybe the rumors of you coming to japan in october will turn out to be true.
cheers

hi satch...how are u're fingers...
2 things on my to say to u..
1) please consider having 24 frets on the js 1000..i'd kill for the axe but flaw is that it only has 22 frets..u can deal with it but what about u're not so guitarically bestowed fans like myself!!! please...please...please..its just another 2 frets more!!!
2)please consider having a tour in our country - Malaysia, although i understand u've had some 'memorable' experience with the police stopping u on stage when u started to play at 4.00 am (remember the 'rythm of the asia' gig?). i think this time u should perform solo or with any G3 setup. did u know that the whole crowd at the stadium is actually waiting for u, steve and mr johnson? that's y everybody waited until 4.00 am......u'd be surprised to know how many fans u have here in Malaysia

webmaster - I've been to four shows and am still trying to win the aftershow contest...maybe I'll get lucky and win it this time around on 8/11...LOL. Either way, I have pit seats up front so I bet I'll run into you at that show. I'll be sure to say hi.
akreepish1 - That's great news about Stu... Where did you hear that? Stu doesn't visit this site anymore so I don't really have a place to go to find out news about his upcoming projects. If you know of a site please let me know.
Kda - I think there are moments when Joe's voice is just awesome. He knows he isn't a "singer" (he's a guitarist), and I think that it hurts himself (mentally) when he's singing. There were a few spots during I Believe at the Amsterdam show where his voice was full of emotion, though. It sounded great.
...Austin...
