Colin Patullo - Man I listened to No Tomorrow. Such a cool rock tune. I love the vocals aswell. Fresh sounding. I don't have time to listen to the other 2 at the moment but I will tomorrow for sure.

I bet you're recording line in. Distortion sounds a little harsh but still not too too bad. There's a program out there called revalver. It simulates speakers in your tone when you master it.

One more thing to comment on for now, I love the album name Solitary Refinement. Clever man. Very clever.

Joe...at the gig in Albuquerque when you opened with flying in a blue dream....it didnt seem like you were getting the right harmonic feedback from the amps like you usually do...maybe thats the way the acoustics worked out there...i thought it sounded much better in Santa Fe at the Paolo Soleri last 4th of July..Which did you prefer?

Ahh... finally, I'm back from my 2 week holiday to Eastern Europe. Yup, that would be Hungary, Austria, Poland, Czech, Germany, Russia & Netherlands. It was great fun. But the freaky thing is that the very instant I left each country, most of them got flooded!!! I'm sure you guys have heard about the weird weather in Europe on TV. Well, those are the places I visited!!

Now, I'll hafta go thru 1000+ posts!! Eeek! You people post a LOT!!

questions about modes?Sorry this will be confusing. Are the modes meant to be thought of in terms of Keys, like scales played over certain key? Or are they meant to be thought of as played over certain notes? Examples being 'E" phrygian; played over the key of 'C' because it's the third scale degree derived from the key of 'C'? Or, 'E' phrygian played over the note of em7only and the next note and phrygian mode corresond? Sorry, I know it's confusing

Hey Joe,

I'm a huge fan of yours. I notice you don't have any tour dates here in Australia. I know you've got a huge audience here in Australia that would love to see you in real life, not just watching your dvds and listening to your cds.

I hope one day you will tour here in Australia.

Joe your the best.

Your fan, Paul.

webmaster - Thanks once again for your continued work on the site. After I'm done here I'll email you privately about the newsletter.

ovation1 - I've already met Joe. I have a picture, pick, and some autographs from him. It would've been nice for me to win the set list contest, but it's cool to see some of these other people win stuff. That said, my next show will be my 6th...and if my backstage pass contest losing streak continues, well...I'll be pretty mad. ;-) LOL. Oh, by the way, thanks for sending me a copy of the newsletter.

sharon - I don't remember how long it took QT6 to download. I wasn't really paying attention to the computer...LOL. I'd say it took around 20-30 minutes with my 56k modem.

jblaze1 - I don't remember the message Joe posted about being pressured. Can you copy / paste it here?

decade - Joe usually makes an effort to visit with the fans after each show. But this tour is in bigger venues and it's harder for fans to get to the bus area. You should have much better luck on the Evening With... tour this fall.

Jaymz27 - As a last resort, I'd show up at the venue on the day of the concert. Maybe you can sell your tickets at face value to someone who plans on buying them at the door.

wingnut007 - RIght now, SBM is still my favorite Joe Satriani album. NOTE is pretty close, though... I've been listening to that one a lot recently.

fuse19 - Welcome to the site...

...Austin...

This is a test...

Here's a fake set list:

Bells Of Lal
Borg Sex
The Crush Of Love
Devil's Slide
The Forgotten
Love Thing
Memories
Rubina
Surfing With The Alien

Here's some other fake stuff:

Grumpy - Everyone makes me mad.

Happy - I just saw Joe Satriani in concert.
Sneezy - Achoo.
Dopey - ???
Doc - I'm smart.
Bashful - I'm shy.
Sleepy - ZZZzzz...

Ok, I wonder if all that stuff worked.

Update - These new additions are great, Jon... Thanks.

Question for everyone - Is it easier to read my comments the way I normally do them (a separate paragraph for each person), or do you think it would be better for me to start typing them with the line separating each person? Let me know...

And just FYI for everyone... You only have to use the [xx]s for the two new features. You don't need the [/xx] at the end.

...Austin...

JazzGuitar- You're right, it's a very good song and the tune is similar to Joe's. I liked it, thanks for sharing.

I just heard on the radio here in Sweden that Steve Vai will be helping out on The Yardbirds new album... together with Slash and Steve Lukather, among others.

I hope all the other guys and girls who took A levels/ AS exams this year did well. I got A for Music and Maths, with D for Physics. On the three Physics papers I got A, A and unclassified.... stupid coursework. Neil Morgan?

QT6 requires the download of an an installer, and then the installer will download about 20-30 minutes worth of 56k bandwidth, so it'll take 40 minutes or so in all.

Has there been discussion about Joe saying about a classical side project? sounds exciting. Fits in with the Rock/something different alternation Joe does (out there NOTE, mainstreamish SWTA, FIABD vocals, Extremist rock, time machine 1 /red album something a bit different, CP rock, EOC electronica, SBM rock)

Has anyoen seen Austin Powers 3- you know the bit where Frau Farbissina comes to visit Dr Evil in prison? the music at that point sounds so much like sittin' round off Joe Satriani. ANyone else notice that?

Good results Paul, you're not the only person who hates coursework. I was one mark off a B for Physics due to coursework letting me down. I got A for Maths, B for Further Maths and C for Physics.

Can I just confirm with somebody from England that the webcast is on at 6 p.m. I'm not sure whether I've converted to Greenwich Mean Time or British Summer Time. Why can't we just leave the clocks alone!

Maybe this is not the right forum to ask but I'll do it anyway...

I have QT on my computer but it says it's the 4.1.2 version. Now, I have noticed before that there can be a difference between the version stated in the properties and what version it actually is, if you get my meaning. For example, RealPlayer on my computer is called version 6.0-something but it's still RealPlayer8, which is confusing.

Does anyone know if this is QT6 or not? If it's not, can I download the new version without uninstalling the old one first?

Thanks for your help.......

PhrygianDominant: No dude, haven't got a Japanese copy of "SBM" yet....It's hard enough for me to absorb what's on the original cd, and I'm going to wait and see if something happen's with that and the "SLICK" bonus....lol....I hope Jon see's this message ;-)

lol jblaze1, I wish I had one to sell!!....BTW, Clarky is the best teacher around....Aren't you glad he's here! (I sure am) :-) BTW, Tattoo....We must not mess with the guest az u know ;-) They come here for love, marriage, and hate.....Velcome....to Funtasy Island. (all the guest's look at each other) LMAO!!!

Welcome back The Local Person....Hope all is well....BTW, congrats on your tests....lol physics is challenging :-#

2 TON TESSIE: It's all good brother....No harm done....As Clarky stated....It is hard to decipher the written word compared to body language....

Jon, Thank's dude :-)....This site ROCKS of JOE!!

JS1: NOTE has a mystical feel to it......A total learning experience for the listener....It is perhaps the most unique instrumental guitar record ever made!!!!

LOL Austin, you have been Satchurated 5 times :-)....I think it's time for you to win backstage next time!! BTW, I think the lines seperate better, but not all the way to the bottom of a post....Look's like it may run-in with the frame of your post....

Interesting new's there dragonchild!! thx! I'd like to hear the result's!!

BTW all....Sept. Young Guitar issue has a one page story on VAI's Fire Strings performance (lol, wish I could read it all) with four small pics....(sorry, I don't own a scanner :( He was wearing the norm black pants and shirt and was playing EVO....They wrote something about not having drums (as in the rock band sense) and the "flowing" rhythm and chord progressions, and using the Zappa touch I think....That's what I got out of the article.....Wish there was more, but that was it....Maybe someday they will show footage of it, and I can get a copy.........

Interesting fact....This site has 36,650 members!! Let's all join forces and barrage our local radio stations with SATCH request's so that JOE will "live" on the airwaves 24hrs a day!!....Man, talk about creating World Peace ;-)

lol, and Peace all /\/\ike

WebMaster: I'm getting set up for the web cast today. 8/16/02 I'm hoping to get all the bugs out before the 'cast. Q-time 6 installed....just waiting for the Updates? Clarky: Paul, you would not be that impressed with my stuff. I'm having to relearn to sing after 10 years of not singing. College will help with that! So much for my range. Guitar is coming along, but I have to work on my drumming. I'll get a site yet and post all my goofy music. Some times I'll make you laugh( and you are supposed to!!!) More spoofs on the way. Enjoy the web cast T2Jers! Joe: Your such a creative Guy!!!!KTF

YODA - checked out your site man, sounding good, says you started to play at 10, old are you now?and how much time have you spent on theory in relation to technique.I've been playing for a while now and up til recently bothered very little with the theory (much to my cost), got by in pub rock bands but played by ear. I've had a change of heart of late and decided to knuckle down any recommendations on tuition books/vids?

CLARKY - Nice to see an honest opinion although i'm not saying that it is mine. I was worried about Joe snobbery on the site but it seems that fanatic doesn't equal blinkered here,in most cases. But damn right mate it is so easy to take people the wrong way in a semi-impersonal forum. You've obviously got a wealth of musical knowledge, what's the story?
