Joe just wanted to tell you I finally received a record deal and we are going out on the road in Oct.3 and 4 at Tobacco Road in NYC. I have been playing since I was 13 no lessons just picked up the guitar and taught myself. I also started writing songs just from my head it is so cool to be blessed with such a beautiful gift from God. And I also want to thank you for giving me such sound advice in the musical field when we talked after all your shows since1989. You got me where I am today and I can never express what I feel for you in my heart and soul. Joe you are the best in everyway and my husband and I just want to say thankyou for all your music and for all your kindness through out the years. My Dad plays on WFUV FM in N.J and he has been a fan of yours so he has been playing your tunes all the time so people have been calling in to hear more of your tunes. Joe we love you and thank you again for all your kindness and your sweet musicfor so many years. I wish you can come to hear me jam in NYC that show is for you well I will see you on the road soon. KEEP THE MUSIC FLOWING! LOVE MiracleSunset

elpp: Thanx for your review.

When I realized that Joe's set list would be shortened for this tour I was disappointed to say the least, but I'd rather see Satch play 14 songs than not see him play at all, and if I wind up liking Kings-X and DT then that will be a bonus.

With only a 14 song play list there's going to be a lot of tunes left out, like SWTA, Ceremony and so many others. When I heard Joe played "WHY" on the European tour I couldn't believe it. "WHY" has always been a personal fav and I thought I'd never hear it in a live show, Oh well ,life goes on, no use crying over spilled milk.

I agree with you about "ICE 9" also, Perfect tune to open a show with, better to come out and kick 'em in the butt right from the get-go.

I've heard a rumor that Satch may do "an evening with Joe" tour this Fall or early this Winter, lets hope so.

Has anyone ever come up with a cool riff or something and then, after messing around with it for a few days, you realize that it sounds very similar to a piece of music that's already out there?

I've been messing around on my little brother's Squire Strat for the past few weeks, and the other day I came up with this really cool chord progression. I planned on eventually adding a cool bass part on top of it. So I've spent a few days with it...I've made a few changes here and there...and then all of the sudden it hits me. The really cool riff that I thought entered my mind completely on my own is actually from Astral Traveler (the GHS song). You can hear it from 1:05-1:08 and then again from 3:51-3:55. Man that makes me mad...LOL. I haven't listened to that song in a while, yet it decides to subconsciously sneak into something that I was trying to write. Blah.

Well, I guess it's time to come up with something else.

...Austin...

Ya know...I thought this portion of the satriani.com site was called "Talk To Joe" not "How Many Posts Can I Get" or "I'm A Tardo"...Sorry Joe...HEY! Our little Latin WEA lady was at the 8/16 show with Andy Timmons. I ran into them right before you went on. She hadn't seen you and didn't know about any after show stuff. I still managed to talk to afterwards. Enjoyed the show. See ya next time.<<<plaghs>>>Joe

njbeast - As Austin said 'webmaster@satriani.com' and it is useful to bug jon about the site in general or anything he may like to hear, he will most likely reply - he's a very cool and friendly guy...thanks jon :)
Austin - Thanks sounds cool, don't be annoyed when something like that happens - just think 'I made that riff up on my own, and it's already part of a cool song...so it must've been a cool riff!!'
Just testing these things - later Guys

wingnot007: My main guitar is a '89 Gibson SG '62 reissue w/ a "FRED" pickup in the bridge position and a stock Gibson '57 at the neck. I tore the stock '57 bridge pickup in half when I tried to take the chrome cover off of it, it was an awesome sounding pickup and I had no plans of changing it. The double sided sticky-back that held the chrome cover and pickup together was real stubborn and I ended up ripping the coils apart, a $129.00 BUMMER that was.

The '62 in my opinion is the best design on an SG because the neck to body angle is not as pronounced as other models and feels more solid and predictable and the heel joint is much smoother.

I've always loved the body style and playability of an SG, but no two feel the same, even the new ones. I played a lot of SG's til I found "the one", bought it new and it is my favorite guitar to this day.

I also own a JS-100 all stock which is not a bad guitar, but the difference between a JS-1000 and a JS-100 are like night and day.

I have a '68 Gibson "Blue ridge" Acoustic, old and beat up. Even though there are a lot of acoustics out there that sound 100 times better, this old beater is my best friend and we have written many a song together. w/ a dreadnought body style and small frets It's neck fits my hand like an old shoe. The unique thing about this guitar is the book matched back and sides, they are made of an unusual figured rosewood which has both a red and white swirled grian in the same piece of wood that look striking in contrast to one another.

My dream guitar would be a Paul Reed Smith/Artist package 22 custom, abalone Birds, Blue-Top 10 quilt, rosewood veneer on headstock w/ eagle.

gtrfreak yes..i thought too..talk to Joe...perhaps we should have a message board for general purposes and ask wuestions like on hre..and save the Talk To Joe for questions actually aimed at Joe and not anyone else...thanks {b]webmaster..i got the new chat..but since i'm in a postion on this computer..i cant personnaly get the qt6 without my brother cos he knows what to do and also he's the only one that can download that stuff cos he's the 'adminastrator' of this computer and i cant acsses his part of the computer....anyway...enough complaining...hopefully i'll be able to se that rehearshal and fiabd sometime during the week. :) and the chat room : Can you see if anyone else is in there?...like the names on the side like on vai.com ???or is it just the way my computer is loading stuff up?

MR SAMICKMAN: I do not understand how you cannot get hold of a copy of SBM in Australia? I live in Perth, and i've had a copy for over a month now. Can't your record store order one in for you? If not, find one who will!!!

I just wanted to say "HI". I'm new to this site, and a long time fan of joe's music. Unfortunately I have never seen him play live. Maybe now that I found this site I will get the chance.

By the way the site looks great! kevin
