HEY JOE...it's OME again with another question on your sound. I was listening to the webcast and wondering if your using any compression or gates in the mix since you've added other effects to the amp. I gotta say, you have a clean live sound for playing at low volumes. I'll hope to see you live on the next leg of the tour. Don't forget about Arkansas on "an evening with" tour. BLBLBLBL Later OME

Hi everyone...

Having a separate page for Joe questions won't work. That's what the FAQ tried to do on the old site, and it ended up with way too many questions. It's good to have everything on one board, because some of the questions that are addressed to Joe can be answered by other people on the site.

Mr Nick - The left side of the chat room has a list of all people that are in it. If your name is the only one there, you're the only person in the room

dragonchild - You can change your connection speed in one of the menus. It's Edit - Preferences - QuickTime Preferences for me in the US.
Chess Music - If you clear out cookies daily, you shouldn't have that many to clear out each time. Just delete them by hand and avoid the 2 or 3 that are from this site. Also, there's the "View messages from the last _____" box that lets you view recent messages.
NonSmoker - The first Vai album I got was Passion & Warfare. I think it's a great place to start. Stu Hamm plays bass on most of it.
IbaNick - I'm still trying to email you those songs...I've had trouble with AOL though. I'll try again later tonight. Sorry for the delay. To answer your question, here is how I would create a link to satriani.com with the text "click here"... In order to have them show up as plain text, I used ()s instead of []s. When you type them, use []s. Here ya go... (link url="http://www.satriani.com/") click here (/link). If I wanted the clickable text to be the actual address (instead of the words "click here"), I would just do it like this: (link)http://www.satriani.com/(/link). Here's what they both look like: click here, and http://www.satriani.com/ ...

sorry to hear folks are having troubles with the webcast. the best thing i can suggest is to try during off-peak times, setting your connection speed lower than you actually have, and making sure you aren't behind a firewall. beyond that, feel free to send your comments to apple about qt6-- they should hear about any problems with the software itself.

i tested the streams on different computers and connection speeds and other than some stutterring on the beginning credits of the rehearsal footage, it works well for me. it's hard to help troubleshoot problems you can't reproduce, or i'd help more!

the label doesn't give permission to make the live show downloadable, but there is a chance that in the future we can make the rehearsal stuff available in some other format. we're still working on ideas for including some of the studio and rehearsal footage on a future dvd, but it's still very much up in the air. cross your fingers for us :}

DRAFTER37: I totally agree with your comment. Still... you know. Can't help but feel that he's overplayed that song. Seems like JSCLONE agrees. Oh well. We can't win them all.

MICHELLE: Again? No fair! You've already seen them! It was my first live DT show. It will not be the last, that's for sure. Let's see what they play on your show.

OVATION1: Yeah, I personally would've been much happier with DT closing the show. But as TESSIE said, better to see this show than not seeing anything! BTW, get their Scenes from NY DVD if u haven't seen it yet. (I'd tell u to go see them, but traveling over there seems to be expensive, huh?)

TESSIE: Hey I think your show will be closed by DT. All I can say is Enjoy!!

And by the way, don't let the maps and driving advice fool u. You CAN drive from Albuquerque to Las Cruces in 2.5 hrs. (220 miles) Man, where are the New Mexico highway cops? We were doing 90 and still there were cars passing us. Obviously I ain't complaining, but if somebody had messed up and crashed, I saw only 1 cop on the whole trip. Oh well.

Later.

Non Smoker: I agree with the others here....Get "P&W" or "ALS" from VAI...If you got the $$ pick up 7th song also.... or maybe pick it up first....It's got the 7th song from each one of his CD's on it....Plus, it has "BOSTON RAIN MELODY" on it (Perhaps my fav VAI song) and "WARM REGARDS" (another equally fav song) is hidden after it......7th song may give you an idea which VAI cd you would like to get next....

elpp: Yeah, the DT DVD is the way to go for me!! The plane ticket prices here are outrageous..lol....JOE: Please play "Summer Song" for us... ;-) (jk)

lol jblaze1!! As you probably know, the food is great here.. And very healthy....Psych up for the show dude!!

Peace all, /\/\ike

IbaNick - Thanks for the links. :-)

elpp - The stretch of highway 5 between Sacramento and Los Angeles is the same way. Everyone drives faster than 90...it's insane. The whole California Highway Patrol should just park their cars along that highway...they could pull people over all day.

Hey Webmaster: I would really like it if you could let us download the rehearsal video or somehow gather up more cool videos like that and put them on a DVD for all the Satch fans on here. Ah how about that a fan club dvd. What do you think?

Thanks for the info on Vai albums.....

Austin, I did'nt realize that Stu has worked with SV...my first will definately have to be Passion and Warfare. I'm going to go and look for it tomorrow in town.

I'm still trying to work the "bugs" out of the webcast thing. It took over half an hour to go through the rehearsal part. It would play for a second and then stop and load some more. When it finally got to the end, I figured I could press play and it would play the whole thing right through. Instead I just ended up right where I started :( I threw in the towel at that point....
