WEBMASTER, I can't watch the webcast. I get the intro to Flying but then it starts cutting out. Sometimes I'll get very good video but no sound at all. I'd rather it be the other way around. After two hours of trying, I've managed to listen to 1/8 of flying. I connect at 48,000 bps which is pretty darn good for dialup. Apple QT sucks. Real audio or Windows media is much much better.

How about Audio only with no video!! Or convert to Real audio. Just some suggestions.

Thanks for the webcast anyhow. Truly appreciate what you guys are trying to do for us fans.

NonSmoker - Yeah, Stu has worked with SV on a few albums. I think Stu's also on Steve's first, Flex-Able. If you have the SV box set, Steve talks about a band he was in with Stu early on. I think some of those recordings will be in the box set eventually.

death cube k - Yeah it happens to everyone, I guess. Joe and Steve Vai have actually recorded songs that are very similar to each other. The first song on Alive In An Ultra World sounds like Joe's Hordes Of Locusts. Steve has another one that sounds like The Crush Of Love. I'm sure Joe has "copied" some stuff but I don't have all of Steve's catalog to compare. There are only 12 notes...this kinda thing happens a lot, I guess.

Well I can't get through the damn security to install QT6, so I won't be watching any webcasts in the near future...

Phrygian Dominant: a better album name would be: Songs From The Fridge...AHEM...AND HAPPY 100th POST

Dave: (of the non-smoking variety) the first Vai I heard was G3, then after that I got Alien Love Secrets, Fire Garden and Passion & Warfare. (oh yeah and last week The Elusive Light & Sound 1.) I would recommend ALS and FG if you want music with melody. P&W is very much 1/2 and 1/2 music and guitar noises. It's good though, but you might want to be Vai inclined first, especially after being a Satch fan. G3 has some cool guitar stuff, as does ELAS1.

Okay, I'll get back to my dumb assembly program (what a crock) and I'll be back later!!!

BEN

PS Still can't find The Ultra Zone...ANYWHERE

Hi Joe ! It is a shame that your last italian concert in Rome was not properly advertised. My son Federico and I did not know anything about it (July 3 in Rome) ! I am sure most of your italian fans were not aware of it. I noticed that in Italy disc jokeys and TV shows do not take into account the great musician you are! Why don't you organize a G2 with Steve Vai in Sicily? I am sure a lot of people will come...and Sicily is so beautiful !! We love you! Alfredo

Webmaster/Joe: How about even more rehearsal footage? I love that stuff! Specifically, how about a few more minutes of the Crushing Day and Why rehearsals? We get to see Joe play the first part of the Crushing Day solo up close, but not the rest of it (the Emin/Dmin pentatonic sweeps). I'd love to be able to watch him go through that whole tune.

If someone complains abot foreign languages...I was only moaning about the total lack of interest for Joe's music from Italian radio and TV...

whoa... that was a lot of posts to go through...!

awesome webcast, although i'm sorry to hear that so many folks are having problems viewing it. I've had no difficulties whatsoever watching it.

wingnut007 --- I use a JS1000BP although in the last week, it has given me a lot of problems. I don't know if Ibanez is to blame.... sigh.. i run the guitar into a dunlop wah, a DS-1, a Digitech whammy and BOSS chorus and delay with a Marshall DSL401 at the end.

"Get Back" for the next concert, joe!!!! hahaha... just kidding...

Clarky - Jam? With you? I should think so... Keep me posted about that backing track, dude. And the guitar...

Just returned to work from my vacation after checking out your performance at The Greek Theatre in LA. Very long drive but worth it! Despite the fact I was anticipating a 2 1/2 hour show as you stated you had with your interview on The Bone 107.7 SF - slightly bummed but still a great show! Very sorry that crowed sucked-ass (and don't tell me it didn't) but as I said in my review - come to The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State! You'll see a real crowd! One that stands on their feet the whole show and the kind you just can't turn away from when the echo's of 20K+ ring from the canyons around you! I thought LA would be where it's at - truth is it's a joke!! The Gorge still Rules!

Hey Joe, you crazy guitar god you,got all kinds of things to say ... but FIRST... YOU ROCK.. your songs are so good sometimes that they make me shiver.. you KNOW what i mean... the harmonic frequencies match so well soemtimes that they flow through me like ripples through water.... i wanted to tell you that i finally named my elec guitar.. i named her "Rubina" in honour of your music and in the hopes that i will one day be as talented as you are (and because we make such beautiful music together)....i wanted to ask you a question though.. when ywould you say was the first time that you played a song for yourself and thought to yoursefl "HEY THIS is NICE".. have you ever?... or do you have some unreachable goal like the rest of us(mostly to be as good (or better) than you) ?...... i also wanted to say that you have inspiired me so much .. that lately all i can do is listen to your music and try not to shiver and shake in reaction ... and then play my guitar to try to match amount of feeling in your music that you have in so many of your wonderful songs and sounds.... i have been writing music now for around 15 years and NOTHING compares to you man.... you are THE man... and nothing will ever change that... i\I also wanterd to let you know that i have gone into the studio to record my first single... hopefully it will be on the radio.. it is comparable to the BETTER newer stuff out there... but still doesnt even hold a candle to your skills... i read your online question session the other day .. and i must say thqat i was kinda dissapointed that you didnt have the oppurtunity to answer more questions.... but hopelfully you answered some of the questions SOMEWHERE ..(maybe in here?).. it was great that you answered so many from canada. i also want to tell your webmaster that the site, chat, and other features of your site are getting better and better my congrats and hat gets tipped to your webmaster.. he truley is a master.. and the site looks GREAT ... please keep playing and keep it going strong... oh yeah.. just to let you know also .. that i now shake out my hands before everytime playing my guitar .. and it WORKS (big shock there, eh?) thanks for the advice...
