Joe,
Just came back from the show. Awesome! My ears are still ringing!! Thank you for playing stuff from "The Surf" we enjoyed it. On a sad note, I was disappointed that your tour shrits did not mention Jacksonville, FL. As a result I did not buy one. You may look at us as a small venue but we look at you as a star. Thanks for stoping by.

Dear Joe,
I realize this may seem a bit rediculous, but it would mean the world to me if you would play Love Thing twice at the concert this Friday in Orlando at HOB. I was recently dumped by my fiancee of 1 year and that song was the one thing that, above all but my family, got me through the past month and a half. Me and my best friend will be at that concert and I know we'll enjoy every second of it. I'm not asking for backstage passes, one of your guitars, your autograph, etc., but it really would mean a LOT if you could play that song twice so that I could just completely soak it in. Thanks in advance and if you don't I'll understand...you can't make everyone happy all the time. I'll be thrilled just to be there.
Thanks,
Alan Schwartzseid

I got into Satriani a few months ago through a friend. He got "Surfing With the Alien". I got "Strange Beautiful Music", and have just about burned a hole in it playing it. I just today went and bought "Time Machine", and am lovin' it. Awhile back I also saw Joe at a A's game, as he played the national anthem. Simply awesome.

NonSmoker - Yeah, you can't directly get back all of the years that you lost from smoking. But there is a ton of other stuff that people can do to increase lifespan. You'll just have a little extra work to do for a few years. It's great to hear that you're so confident and encouraged about everything though...not many people are like that. Sorry if all of my messages are annoying you. I'm just trying to show some extra support...if it's bugging you, though, I can stop. ;-)
PhrygianDominant - I just open a blank document and copy / paste messages into it that I want to respond to. Then I go to the post message page and look at the copied messages when I'm writing my post. Or you can use two separate browser windows like Joe.
Knil - Welcome to the site. I know you don't have all of Joe's albums yet, but do you have a favorite song or two?

Hi Joe, Im just sitting here watching your live DVD and man I love it. Oh I just bought a JS100 guitar, I have to say that I love it, great tone and love the pickup switching, though I did put a Seymour Duncan pickup in it for just a little bit more sustain and it is just a dream come true. LOVE the new album, but I favor the older stuff like the Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing but as always all your music amazes me. Well I just wanted to say HEY to everybody here and HI to you Joe. We all love ya

Remember everyone that there are over 20 different types of RSI so what can be helpful for one person could wreck another person's wrists. JSC1 - most important thing is to do what your physio says. Acupuncture helped my girlfriend a fair bit but it was mainly down to stress that she got it.

HEY GUYS, I'VE BEEN READING THE REVIEWES OF THE CURRENT TOUR {ONE OF WHICH I POSTED FOR THE L.A.CONCERT} AND IT SOUNDS LIKE JOES GETIIN' THE JOB DONE. BUT IF YOU NOTICE THERE ARE PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LINE-UP. AS I STATED IN MY REVIEW, "THERE WERE 2 OTHER BANDS' AND THAT'S WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES. PEOPLE THAT COME TO SEE JOE COME FOR THAT, TO SEE SATCH. THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT, TO SEE THE MOST AMAZING ELECTRICAL GUTARIST TO EVER LIVE. {WELL HIM AND JIMI ARE IN LEVEL THAT VERY PRECIOUS FEW HAVE EVER ACHIEVED}. I'VE SEEN JOE BOTH SOLO AND WITH G-3 AND I'VE GOTTA SAY THAT IS SO EXCITING TO SEE JOE, SOME OF THE THINGS YOU HEAR OIN RECORD DON'T LET YOU KNOW WHAT IT REALLY TAKES TO CREATE THOSE SOUNDS AND HIT ALL THOSE NOTES. IT'S UNBELIEVEABLE THEN TO SEE HIM DO THAT AND SUCH A TREAT. I'VR REALLY ENJOYED THE SOLO CONCERTS. JOE COMES OUT, KICKS ASS, THEN GIVES US ALL A BREAK, WHICH REALLY LETS THE ANXIETY BUILD AND THEN WE GET TREATED, ONCE AGAIN TO SEE THIS PHENOMENAL MUSICIAN. NOBODY DOES WHAT JOE DOES. HIS MUSIC IS PURE, INSPIRED AND TRUELY CREATED FOM THE HEART. I AM NOT GAY, BUT I AM A GUITAR PLAYER AND HAVE TO SAY "I LOVE JOE" I KNOW WHERE HE'S COMING FROM AND HIS MUSIC MOVES ME !! I FINALY HAD A CHANCE TO MEET HIM IN L.A. AT AN AUTO SIGNING BEFORE THE CONCERT AND I HAD SO MANY THINGS I WANTED TO ASK HIM AND TO SAY TO HIM. BUT I CHOKED UP SAID A FEW SHORT NOTHINGS AND FINALLY SAID " I LOVE YOU MAN". IT JUST COMES FROM THE HEART , HIS MUSIC TOUCHES ME LIKE NO ONE EVER HAS SINCE JIMI. ONE TIME I SAW HIM AT HE HOUSE OF BLUES IN L.A. AND I SNUCK DOWNSTAIRS WHEN I HEARD HIM DURING THE SOUND CHECK. I WALKED DOWN IN FRONT OF THE STAGE AND SAID HEY JOE, HE LOOKED UP, AND ALL I COULD SAY WAS" I LOVE MAN". HE'S THE MAN, AND THAT'S WHY PEOPLE GO TO SEE HIM IN CONCERT, NO OTHER BANDS, JUST THE TREAT OF SEEING THE PHYSICAL THINGS THAT IT TAKES TO CREATE HIS MUSIC. HE'S ONE OF A KIND AND WE {ACCORDING TO THE REVIEWS} WELL, HE'S THE ONE WE WANT TO SEE. THE GREATEST ELECTRIC GUITAR PLAYER ON THE PLANET, PROBABLY THE UNIVERSE, THAT MAY BE DEBATEABLE AS HE IS AN "ALIEN-NOT OF THIS EARTH" FROM NOW ON SEND SATCH OUT THERE ON HIS OWN. BELIEVE ME, I KNOW THAT IT'S HARD TO PLAY FOR 3HRS ANIGHT WHEN YOU PLAY LIKE HE DOES BUT THATS WHAT HIS FANS, THE PEOPLE WHO COME TO THE SHOWS WANT--'WE WANT JOE' ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

death cube - It seems to me as though all of the MP3's are 'extracts of larger more complete works or small ideas / experiments. Chicken Koop is a real nice idea... you should format it into a song and fcomplete it. Dislocation is great.. it sounded like a whole lot of fun recording that one.. your tone is very nice there too.. some great ideas in there. Oracle is really nice.. I like that one a lot.. great feal and nicely played.... Race is tremendous.. some really nice licks in there and has a great overall vibe to it...I bet that one was fun to cut too.. Do you have anything complete? I listened to all of the MP3's in your site... you are a very nice player with good energy and you play to great effect... you have lots of great ideas but the appear to be quite unformatted - the idea cycles so it don't become a 'song' / composition as such... but then the MP3 extracts are so short it's difficult to be able to tell if this is a small part of something greater so it's difficult assess your compositional skill... you are obviously a fine player though... I liked what I heard..... stay lucky...

I JUST THOUGHT I'D TYPE IN ALL CAPS TO ANNOY YOU ALL. YEP, IT'S PRETTY DAMN OBVIOUS THAT I'M TRYING TO GET YOUR ATTENTION, AND THIS SHOUTING BUSINESS MUST BE THE WAY TO DO IT. YEP... Listened to a whole heap of Dream Theater samples on Portnoy's site. They sorta sound like the old Metallica, and Christian bands from the 80's. (Minus the synthesizers!) Not too shabby, I'll do the deal.
BEN
PS on GNOD, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai are almost right on top of each other!!! Check it out!

I just saw a show last night in Jacksonville, FL. It was the best show I have ever seen. It doesn't get better than this. Joe, have you ever heard of guy Vlatko Stefanovski? He is guitar player from Macedonia. He plays many jazz shows all over the world. I think you would like his playing.

Hello Mr. Satriani.
I would like to start off by saying thank you for the countless times you have inspired me and my circle of friends with your music. Often times when we feel placid and idle with our guitar playing, we would listen to your CDs and we will immediately become revitalized with energy. May you continue shaping the players and musicians of the future. I and many of my peers have different ways of preparing for a performance and would like to ask what you do to limber up and mentally focus before a show. My regimen consists of chromatic exercises, scales and modes, arpeggios and hexatonic (or other speed runs) about half-hour before the show starts with a metronome. Do you have a similar pattern or do you just turn on the practice amp and maybe improv over some vamps? Many new players have a tough time getting up on stage and zoning out on the performance. I guess there is much internal dialogue of “don’t mess up” going through their heads that they fail to get into the grove of the music. I feel that having a “pre-show ritual” might be good to clear their minds. It might seem to be a moot question for you with a performance list well into the 1000’s but I guess you are the ideal person to ask.
Thank you for your kind help and efforts
jguitarj
