It is Stu not boo-- 90Minutes would have been nice. The Tabernacle show was just over an hour. Joe took the stage at about 10:40 and the crew started taking apart Jeff's kit at about 11:45-- with the purple stage lighting STILL ON. The crew was all over the stage before the house lights even came up. That's why it seemed like they must have hit curfew. I guess I'm just holding out for the 2 set "evening with Joe" shows that never seem to happen in Atlanta - and Joe, please consider that for the entire next tour.

Later Rich

TurtleBoy - Hi. Welcome to the site... Your description of Joe's scream is pretty accurate. He does pinch harmonics over where the 24th fret would be on the B and E strings with his right hand, while holding the whammy bar with his left. The guitar screams when he releases whammy pressure.

ChromeLord - Satch is gonna blow you away! :-)
Shrykull - Yeah, curfews suck. Everyone here on the site loves the Evening With shows with 2 sets... Maybe you'll get lucky and Joe will come by Atlanta again for that kind of show later this year.

TurtleBoy: You got it, use your left hand to depress the whammy and use the thumb on your left hand to catch the harmonics just over the front coil of the neck pickup. I believe the strings you want to concentrate on are the B and G in unison, and the G and D sound nice too but I don't seem to get a whole lot out of the High E string. After you strike the strings with the pick slowly release the whammy and lift it up past the fulcrum until the sound starts to diminish.

Good day to you all....

Deadpool: He man, you know what i'm talking about with that trem... I kno9w what u mean. If u have it tight and u move it outa the way it eventually comes loose. I have it set so that when it's tight it sits below the strings but above the volume knob. Then with a quick flick of the wrist I can knock it so it spins round and hangs loose vertically. I can usually pick it up from there to give the odd waggle. For more complex tricks gargling, scoops, screams etc. All it needs is another quick flick to bring it back round to sit where i want it.

Lambic: See if u can find a pic of it on the net somewhere. the bar doesn't push in/pull out. It screws into a socket which is in turn through the body of the trem unit. This is quite hard to explain. It is infact the part that the bar screws into that loosens. So I'm thinking a wee bit of locktite on those threads would go down a treat :-)

Morley Bad Horsie Does anyone on here own one of these fine pedals. I was messing with mine last night and managed to trace the potentiometer that determines the switch of time. For those that don't know the badhorsie switches off when u remove ur foot from the pedal. If u want to try it have a go, cos u can't really go far Wrong. The pot is located on the bottom left of the unit (battery at the top) Play around with it but I think clockwise lengthens the time, anti-clockwise shortens it. I love it now, mine switches off as soon as my foot leaves the pedal :-)

Check this out, one of the coolest videos I have ever seen, theres various sites aorund the net with it heres one of them It's a montage of the 2001 WRC played along to Linkin Park "In The End" Kick Ass.....

Tune for my day: Hoobastank - Crawling in the Dark

Godspeed on the tour dude, you shouldn't have to be thinking about stuff like that while the show is going on....That must have been a hard one to go through, and I hope this sends a message out to the other venues who prey on their consumer's like vulchers!! May the Lord's of Kharma bring Pearly back, and keep changin' lives dude!!!

y'know, the harmonic is further behind (closer to the bridge) where the 24th fret would be. i don't think there really is any hard and fast rule he follows about it - i've seen him pick the harmonic in various places depending on what pitch he wants to scream around...

Joe, it's your response to the Stunt winston pulled that will never be forgotten. I strongly feel that any other artist would have just sent an apology...but you did it verbally in person, with autographs and picks. That is just amazing...

You're quite the role model...thanks

Lock up your daughters Toronto... here I come!

I'm about to POP.. found out on Sunday that I will be going to see Joe at the Molson Amphitheatre, my new biz partner (whom I saw G3 with five (?!) years ago in Montreal) says to me "Hey, it's been FIVE years since we saw G3.. we ARE going to Toronto!" How could I argue with that huh?

I just saw TOOL & Tomahawk on Saturday night here in Ottawa, so I thought my fun was done, not so! I must be the only guy who likes Tomahawk, everyone else was booing and heckling, but for me it was pure bliss.

Looking forward to seeing Dream Theater live for the first time too. This is going to be one helluva show.

See all you Torontonians on Saturday! Joe IS playing Mind Storm on this tour, right? *droool*

smooches, » Phył . . .

For Adun: LMAO dude!! Your jokes always give me a good laugh, lol!! BTW, just keep singing "Your voice (pun to JBJ) is like bad medicine....Bad medicine is not what I need....Ooo Wo Shake it up...Bad medicine..." That seem's to work for me!! On the other hand, "FIABD" comes on in my head at a moments notice!! Whenever I seem to stray into those 80's hair band blues a quick little shake of the head, and then there it is....That Arpeggiated intro to "FIABD".....LOL Joe takes care of it all...

I was just thinking....JOE should have a nickname beside his name like we do here.....Any suggestions anyone???? I was thinking LEGATO LEGEND!!

lol and Peace, /\/\ike

Hey Phydeaux, maybe they weren't BOOing Tomahawk, maybe they were MOOing them?!?
Ovation nah, it was like: "Sing really hard, and drive me insane, you give drums a bad name...auuiiiiowww, awowwowwowww..."
I've seen an instructional video by Tico Torres, and he's actually pretty good. Why he only ever goes "boom chish boom chish" the whole way through every single song I don't know. Makes drummers like me cringe.

I still can't find out anything about Steve Vai's Fire Strings performance. I am now fearing the worst - Steve "Even My Demos are Perfect" Vai probably messed up one note, and is too embarrassed to talk about it, release it on DVD, CD, etc.

Mr. Nick: LMAO at Satchboy also....Yeah, I'm here in Japan, but even I don't own the Japanese version of SBM, lol!! I bought the U.S. version over the net, and don't feel a need to buy another one for just one song....yet....But Mr. Prog X has it though, and I'm sure he has a faster connection speed than I do....Maybe he can hook us up ;-)....

For Adun: lol, JBJ's voice was in my head when I read your post!!!!! BTW, Mr. Neil Peart is/was one of the best drummers out there...I'm sure you know that :-)

gruskada: Me neither!! Only a one page article in "Young Guitar" Magazine and that was all I heard!! They haven't said SHIT about the VAI performance!! Although I never heard anything about Yngwie's performances either!! I'm sure Steve has got something planned up his sleeve for this one.... He's alway's has got something planned!!

Peace all, /\/\ike

njbeast - if you want to check out Dream Theater then get "Images And Words", IMO their best album in terms of sheer jaw-dropping moments.

Hey, I lurk here often without posting, but I've been a fan of Joe's for nearly 15 years now, I've got all his albums (got the Japanese version of SBM) and I've just found out today that I've won aftershow passes!!! Does anybody know how this works? I mean the aftershow part!! I'm sure others here have been backstage after the show and if I search through the posts I will probably find posts of people's experiences, but if anyone could reply to this I'd be most pleased.
