I have had the privilege of meeting and spending about 5 minutes with Mr. Satriani, and I must say that I know why his music touches so many people from such diverse backgrounds. He is a simple, honest individual who obviously puts his heart and soul into his music for all of us to enjoy. That is a rare commodity, honesty. It's shameful that the world does not adhere to that principal. I hope that the actions of the idiot in Clearwater doesn't keep us from getting to see Joe live. I met him in Jacksonville the night before, and it was a treat.

Joe, the new stuff is awesome. I still listen to Surfin' all the time. Big fan. I hope to meet you again real soon.

Kinda glad I didn't make the Atlanta show. Would have brought my son, and someone would have probably needed bail money for the fit I would have pitched when they said that he couldn't go in, and I couldn't get my money back.

JOE, IDEA's ON YOUR NEXT ALBUM!

Double CD

Disk 1 - All out ROCK ! Disk 2 - BLUE's !

Were in a ROCK stage of the music world but would also like to hear some blues!!!

Also, can you put those short intrumentals on there like you did on Flying in a Blue Dream"?

Take care.... Matt

Hi everyone. I've been thinking. Joe doesn't use the guitar at all when he does the harmonic scream. That scream is actually the voice of his alien inner-self.

njbeast - Pick any Dream Theater album that you want to...you really can't go wrong. Images And Words is probably their best. If you want a nice cross-section of their career, get the 3 disc live set from last year. Or, if you want to hear a side of Dream Theater that sounds more like Joe Satriani, get the two albums from the Liquid Tension Experiment (I and II). LTE is made up of the guitarist, keyboard player, and drummer from DT, as well as another bass player.

Phydeaux 3 - Yes, Joe is playing Mind Storm on this tour.
PaulEMoz - If you won backstage passes you should have received an email with instructions. If you didn't get it, maybe you can email the webmaster. Basically, you have to bring ID to the will call window and tell them that your name is on the backstage pass list. They'll give you your passes and tell you where to go after the show.
anuj - Thanks for the Fire Strings link.
coolnumbernine - Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Joe uses D'Addario strings (9-42).

jblaze1 --- you run both your crybaby and your Bad Horsie together at the same time?? whoa!! bet you get a really nasty sound out of it ( in a good way i mean ) but out of curiosity, doesn't that generate a lot of hiss? i myself have enough trouble with the crybaby alone...!

njbeast..writing a song based on personal experiences..it depends what kind of feeling you have...if you have have a happy feeling about something you've enjoyed.you write a happy song..if its a sad song such as someone you knew very well has died (hopefully not),,then you write a song based on your sad feelings and emotions..depending on what you feel and emotions..you play that way..

use music as a way of releasing lifes problems and expressing your feelings and emotions.

hope this helps..anyone can add anything they want if i've missed stuff out

Joe, You are definitely one of the coolest rock stars ever. Way to stick up for your fans. I heard about the Atlanta show and your reaction to it and it totally reinforces my belief that you are one of the nicest guys in the business. Thanks for being so cool to your humble fans.

austin- d'addario's, 9-42s indeed. i use them myself. I'm pretty glad I checked them out cause otherwise I'd be stuck with EB Hybrid Slinky's. I really like the D'addario's cause they're bright, stay bright for a while and sliding on them feels fairly... right. fender and EB seem weird to me... I dunno.

I just saw your atlanta show last saturday night and loved it. It was even more exciting to get to meet you outside the tabernacle and get your autograph on my 2 favorite cds of all time, "surfing with the alien" and "the extremist"! I loved the addition of "crushing day" to your play list as it is probably my favorite song by you with the exception of "new last jam"! As long as you continue to play, I know where to find inspiration to create my own music!

Death Cube - I think it was "Blue Monday" by White Lion. Not the greatest band in the world, but this is a great instrumental. Also, my friend was big into Danzig, and I remember thinking - this is very simple, but cool. I could do this!

Stu Not Boo - thanks, I did get my e-mail from the webmaster. What I was wondering more specifically (might have helped if I'd explained a little better) was, at this aftershow thing, can I take something to get autographed, is it likely I will be allowed a camera for a couple of photos, that kind of thing? I was wondering if anyone here had already attended one of these aftershow events and might be able to clue me in on how it went.

Thanks again!
