Hi everyone... I'm back after an awesome weekend.

I read all of the posts but I don't think I saw an answer about the Warmoth guitar. Who here built one recently, what was it, and about how much did you spend total?

The scary thing that someone posted here recently reminded me of the funny race car driver insanity test. Does anyone have a link to that?

webmaster - Thanks for the updates. :-) You said that the Amsterdam SBM footage isn't DVD-quality, but what about the G3 footage you filmed at the Warfield in 2001? Is it possible that some of that might be used in any new projects?

Master Yoda - I noticed the similarity between Crimson and Crystal Planet...that's cool, in a way.
ovation1 - You mentioned Steve Smith (Journey) in your post about drummers. Did you know that he's the S in Stu's GHS project? I don't know if you have any of their three CDs.

Led Zeppelin did some weird stuff when they recorded John's drums. The drums for When The Levee breaks were recorded in a stairwell of a castle. John was playing them on the bottom floor and microphones were hung at the top. Awesome.

One last thing...are you planning on going to any JS shows in October?

Dunk - T2J works fine for me.
johnny b - I met Joe without a backstage pass. A lot of us just wait by the bus and meet him as he's leaving the gig. I imagine that's how the non-winners have done it on this tour.
Kda - I have AOL and it stinks...LOL. Download a separate copy of IE or Netscape and use that to look at pages that freeze in AOL...like this webcast.
WapoStyle - You have to wait until midnight California time before you can post show reviews. In the past, people would post reviews before the shows would happen...basically using those pages as a message board.
my ibanez - Joe probably won't be back in Europe until mid 2003 at the earliest.
gregwomble - Additional Creations was given away for free with the first pressing of Engines Of Creation. You can't buy any more new copies, so look in used sections of music stores. You should be able to find a copy on ebay for under $10. That's how I got mine.
michelle - I love Cheez-Its!!! LOL...
satch man99 - I'd love a new G3 DVD but I don't think it'll happen.
Ksquared - The Joe / Steve rumors have been around forever. It'll happen eventually.

Well, folks, here we go again. The Rubber Guitar Man is gettin' his junk tuned up for yet another dose of Satchohol at Jones Beach this upcoming weekend! WHOO-HOO!!! Can hardly wait, totally stoked! Missed a show just down the street from me just to have an excuse to travel back up to New York this weekend, that is truly my second home. (Give my regards to bin Laden...UP HIS!!!) Seeing Joe with Dream Theater is going to be money. 'Course, I think I'm making Gannman drive the Progmobile up so I can catch some sleep if my work schedule remains as gruesome that Friday night as it's been lately. 6pm to 6am...12 hours a night starts to take it's toll...

Ovation1 --- Guess what I'm up doing right now, dude? Putting the finishing touches on the last few measures of the drum track in "Fly To New Planetary Systems"! Finally!!! PHEW!!! This song has taken me a year to record and I'm finally in the home stretch, it's a really good feeling. I should be sending out your Prog X demo CD sometime in Mid-October. So hang in there... :)

And with that, the customary Kudos! Goin' topside to grab me some late night chow! :) See you NYers Saturday...

Jblaze1 - he plays i think one note differently in the opening (other than the other lil differences he adds when he plays live) but the main small difference is on the second run from the E on the Bstring is E,B(open), F#, B, G# hammeron A, B(open), A, B(open) then repeat the whole part. in the Live version its...on the second run from the E on the Bstring is E,B(open), F#, B, G# hammeron A, B(open), G#, B(open), then back to the A, B(open), B(12th fret), B(open) then to the Estring. Thats atleast what he does on the Live in SanFransisco cd. I think....i'm pretty sure thats correct, try playing it and it should make more sense....i hope....i'm tired, later dude

Deadpool: Got it the same way you do I think....two cords into my amp, one connected to a guitar the other connected to the back of my PC.

Sidenote....anyone else try to use their backspace key and sometimes get thrown back to the previous webpage you'd just been on? It's so annoying just thought I would ask (Aren't I always asking? hehe) if anyone else has this happen to them.

P.S. Joe come to Buffalo heh!

Lyz - in some browsers, the backspace key is a hotkey for the back button, taking you back to the previous page. But I don't know how or if you can change it..Uh hope this helps? :)

hehe! strange is a great song!

I had a dream last night that there was an extra track on AIAUW by Mr Steve Vai, and it was basically a re-done satriani track, played live in a weirder way. The thing is I can't remember what it was called. I'm pretty sure it was from Crystal Planet. And it changed a few of the letters in the name... I think it was something like "Woth Jepiter En Mund" or something like that...

The Local Person - You're absolutely bloody insane. :)

JSC1 - I'll get scanning that music right now, and mail it to you later in the day. Trouble is, if it's bigger than about 1MB then I'll need to wait til my dad gets home to use his e-mailer thingy. It's yngvaitriani@hotmail.com isn't it? Incidentally, my RG570LTD has a Lo-Pro Edge and I don't have any such problems with string breaking. The only time a string ever breaks is because it's really fucking old, or because I try something dumb like a perfect fifth bend, or I just grb the whamm bar and pull on it as hard as I can, and I just snap the bloody string in two!!!! lol My TRS bridge never seems to break strings either. The saddles and other parts of the actual bridge block break, but never the strings...

Just been to Vai.com and had a peek at the photos. The photos of the Grammy performance with Nelly Furtado show Steve with a guitar callled "PIA", named after his wife, I assume. Anybody know anything about this guitar?

JSC1 - When I tried scanning the score, I was told "insufficient memory or hard disk space", so it might take a little more work than I'd anticipated. I'll try to figure something out. Got any ideas?

Hey there, Joe Vai! How's your brother?

I have to say, every time I hear "Bad Horsie" I grab my guitar (tuned down to C major) and play the riff thingy. I reckon it is a heavy song, but only because of how low it is.

Clarky: That's exactly the same thing the guy at the guitar store told me....He told me not to worry about the JEM's floating bridges (or other models)....Not much of a concern as it will work as advertised........JS1 brought up a good point about hardtails though....Case in point: Paul Gilbert, IMHO, does fine without a whammy bar, and there are many tricks he uses to get some awesome effects without the use of whammy squeals or divebombs....I think overall though, it is more convenient to have a Lo Pro Edge, for example, so that you can cover all aspects of playing.......

Glad you had a great time Michelle :-)

masterdrummer1: I'm sure you've heard eariler RUSH, like Moving Pictures, 2112, etc....No-one does it like Neil!! BTW, I think Matt's drumming is even better on SBM...He seems to be letting it all hang out lately!!

It is Stu not boo: I think you missed my response after your original post...I said that Plum Loco had built one from there and was wondering if he could fill us in on the details, but he mustv' missed my post....I didn't know Steve Smith was the "S" in Stoooos GHS project!! I will definately have to order those cd's, thank's for letting me know :-) ....Steve Smith is awesome!!!! BTW, right now, it doesn't look like I'll be heading up to "mainland" Japan to see JOE as the plane tix. prices are too expensive :-(...Playing it day by day......If the timing is right, it will happen!!

Prog X dude!! Glad to hear your putting the finishing touches on your album!! That's a tough schedule to work and get all that done at the same time, lol!! I'm sure it rocks, and I look forward to it's release!! BTW, Say hi to JOE for me,....I'm sure he will see your guitar, lol!!!!! :-)

DADA DA DADA!! Bad Horsie!!,,,,What a wicket song ;-)

Peace all, /\/\ike

Mr Nick, Steve tunes the whole guitar down a whole step but the 6th string goes down another step to C. Pretty low. Great tune. Love it. I was so psyched when I heard he did something more with that riff.

Cockroaches suck. I was chasing one all around my dorm for over two hours last night. I emptied everything out of my room and sprayed it to death. There was a white spot (the bug spray) on my carpet about 6 inches across that surrounded the cockroach when I was finished killing it...LOL. Those things are fast, though. I tried to kill it a dozen times. I tried to drop a cube (24 cans) of soda on it twice and the little freak wouldn't die! Cockroaches and Keith Richards...man...

Furious George - I think this site has been around since JS95 came out. I don't know for sure though...I've only been here since EOC came out.

Chess Music - Look through my post history...I listed the webcast setlist somewhere. Find my posts from the day of or the day after the Amsterdam gig.
njbeast - The Japanese album has an extra track to encourage those in Japan to buy that version, instead of the cheaper American import.
ovation1 - Thanks for the info. I remember now that I read that part of your post but I didn't remember it then for some reason...haha. Let me know what you think of the GHS CDs once you get them...oh, and I hope you're able to see Satch sometime in October. He probably won't be back for quite a while, so I hope it works out for you this time.
Plum Loco - I found your IUMA page where you talk about your Warmoth guitar for a minute or two. I was just wondering how much the whole thing cost (roughly).
