who jack - yeah that site is soooo cool!!!

deathcube - I'm a fan of takamine guitars ( i have a g-series electro-acoust)

but I also like ovation guitars and Louden guitars!!!

epiphone acoustics aren't too bad, but I wouldn't class epiphone as an acoustic guitar company.

theory posse - maybe it's time to go find some notes.......

We will find the notes in a major scale by working them out from a given 'tonic'....

First a few simple rules......
the letters that represent each degree of the scale can only be used once

they will always occur in alphabetical order until you get to 'G'. In this case the next note is 'A'.

You will also need to know the notes of the chromatic scale so here there are.... use them for reference:

A, A#/Bb, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab, A, and so on.....

note that A# and Bb are the some pitch [as in key on a piano or string and fret number on a guitar] but they are not the same note. They are mearly two different names for the same pitch.

Also, you neet to know the spelling of a major scale.

tonic [where you start from] major 2nd [2 frets up] major 3rd [4 frets up] perfect 4th [5 frets up] perfect 5th [7 frets up] major 6th [9 frets up] major 7th 11 frets up] octave [12 frets up]

So here goes..... when the Tonic = C the scale is C, D, E, F, G, A, B when the Tonic = G the scale is G, A, B, C, D, E, F# when the Tonic = F the scale is F, G, A, Bb, C, D, E

try calculating the scales above to see if you come up with the same answers... if you don't then let me know.... we'll figure out where you went of course and set it right....

if you cheat you are cheating yourself [not me]....
if you don't fully grasp this stuff then as we move on you'll start getting lost.. so make sure you say so if you're stuck..

the most stupid question is the one not asked

try working out a major scale where the Tonic is:
E

D

A

Bb

C#

Tapper5 - My friend and I will make it just before 2:00pm. We'll be giving you a call at 1:30pm latest.

matt king - More sustain with an Edge and 2 springs? Man, this makes no sense to me. I mean JS's don't have the greatest sustain setup as it is. A small basswood body with a floating bridge. Still among my fave.

Matt You should check out Herc Fede for a Donnie painting on your JSWH. email Rich Harris at rich@ibanezrules.com.

He will give you Herc's info. I have seen pictures of Herc's work. He does this glow in the dark blue Donnie paint. It is absolutely breathtaking. The pictures of this are at www.jemsite.com , look through thet JS forum. Clone 2 is considering getting it done to his BP.

PLUM LOCO - Thanks man! Means a lot. I haven't played since I wrote this. It kinda hurt my hand again.

Your an awesome teacher Clarky!! You got me glued to the screen! I really enjoy your classes.... :-)

jblaze1: I hear ya' on the "Red Alert Zone" which makes me more suspicious about an inside job....I'm sure with today's technology you'll find a way to slove this problem for JOE! :-)

BTW, I found a JEM90HAM for sale.......Looks like it has the same spec's as a 7VW cept for the Am. Basswood body and no TOL inlay....$2,600!!!! Damn expensive.....Anyone own one of these?!?!?!

Peace all, /\/\ike

Good work again clarky, very clear. I hope everyone gets C# right. Although G# might be even trickier with Fx and all. Though you'd be wise (in most cases) to forget about that and just call it Ab.

Clarky -- Thanks man :) and by all means you're welcome for all support by me! I know you'd do the same for me...

JS Clone 1 -- Hehe for some reason it works out like that? And plays so much better! Oh, heh and Rich Harris is actually a close friend of mine :) Been to his house a few times and have seen his collectionin person...

And I don't want a Donnie painting. I have an original design I want to get painted on there. Something that will make the guitar a little bit more individual!

WOW, haha, I had this sweet dream last night. Usually in my dreams they morph alot into other story lines, like i'll be doing something, watchign someone becoming them plots/storys change...crazy stuff. I was at Joe's concert and he played Raspberry Jam.... WITH lyrics! After the intro of the song, he'd play, sing, play, sing, etc. But he used the whammy pedal and a wah pedal to distort his voice an octave really high and robotic sounding almost. But his attitude and lyrics were funny(can't remember any). Then it was ME on stage play'n, then later I somehow was on a boat...then in a store looking at candy....

Question: When doing a whammy bar scream with the harmonics from the right hand and left on the bar, Does Joe or any of you mute the other strings you're not hitting? cause when I pull my bar up or down after hitting a harmonic all the other strings sound out so i try to mute them but i still get a lot of dirt from them.
Thanx -Nick

stu hacking - Check your email. :-) And I forgot to mention it, but if you want to hear another clip or two, just let me know.

Mr Nick - I have it too.
Clarky - Can you try to start putting all of your replies into one post, like myself and several other people here do? It'll make things easier to read for all of us, and it takes up less space. The guitar lessons are different, though...it's probably better to have those in a separate post.
OzzyBradBoy - He probably won't be back for a while. I'd say no sooner than late 2003.
hurrayforguitars - There used to be a link to the Star-Spangled Banner up on this site. I can email it to you. Does your inbox have any attachment limits?
matt king - Do you have this design on the internet anywhere? I wanna see! ;-)

Sparrow, I recieved the mail! The guitar looks great man! But I am goin for more of a custom paint job...I emailed herc! Hopin he can do what I want...

Austin, there IS a design on the new somewhere I just have to find what I did with it. It's basically painted like the cover of my single "Days Gone Bye" with out the text in the middle and a small 'mjk' emblem under the trem system! It'll look really sharp if I can get it done...

Clarky, I think I want to stay away from digital multi effects boards. The only one I thought that sounded actually pretty damn good was the Boss GT-6...some amazing distortion sounds on there. I may have to consider getting one :) Just to mess around with for something new! Can't hurt to try new things....worse comes to worse I can sell it if I don't like it!

Well, to close the subject of Simpsons translations and edits:

Here in Mexico, the people who do the voice overs for the Simpsons are apparently free to use those voices for other jobs. So it's not rare to be watching a movie on TV and all of the sudden hear the voice of Mr. Burns, Krusty or Marge (I've heard these 3 voices several times now).

Last night they were playing Robin Hood, and the bad guy's voice was the mexican Mr. Burns. Fitting, huh? It does throw u off balance; I mean, how can you believe that this is the bad guy when you're picturing Mr. Burns trying to kill Robin Hood?!?!?!

At any rate, remember these wise words:

'Cause they're stupid, that's why. That's why everybody does everything. je,je Later.
