TAPPER5: The album he doesn't have, he say's is really hard to find. He said it's a white vinyl album that just says Joe Satriani on it. I would love to get him that, I just don't know where or how to locate one.

Hi, Joe! Had to name my song of the day. "Why" is an incredible song and it was partly (and Surfing) what launched me into the hopeless Joe addiction I have today! Really, I heard "Why" on the radio in New York on a classic rock station a few times in ~'92 and had to have it, so I ran out and got The Extremist. I now have your whole discography except imports or a few small "hits" collections and I get my daily fix of Satch! I wanted to commend your base playing on "Why"...I've always loved it but never realized it was you because I didn't read the credits too thoroughly. Today, I was looking it over and realized you played all the keyboards on The Extremist, too! What DON"T you do? You're an amazingly talented person! Oh, and wild little sketches on the CD booklet! Do you like doing cartoons and stuff for amusement? I don't know what it feels like to have ANY imagination in an artistic way, so I live vicariously through the creativity of people like you! I design mechanical parts in response to utilitarian needs...a totally different kind of creativity. Thanks for the inspiration!

Invigor -- hehe Thanks, I guess that satch influence is there...I'm workin on my own thing as of lately though. Hoping that something new evolves from my playing some day...and you're a King eh? Nice :) hehe gotta live up to that name...
Ovation -- Hehe, I never thought of my paint job quite like that, but it does make quite a bit of sense :) hehe nice...
Death Cube -- I won't deal with Ed Roman...after what happened with him and Jem Site and Jem Fest, no way will I ever support buisness with him. Thanks for the link though! :) Peace...

death cube k - i post semi-regularly (i go through phases) on guitar.com and the number of people who seem to have had bad dealings with him is quite immense. Generally they put it down to arrogance etc. But I myself have no bad experience so I can only relay to people here what he seems to be like.

Kda - What's that about Friends on LISF?
ovation1 - It stinks that you won't get to see Joe this time around...but maybe you'll get lucky somehow. If not, I hope he comes back to Japan soon.
Chel - The album that your friend is missing is very rare. It's Joe's first album, and he produced it on his own and sold it out of the trunk of his car. There are only 400-500 in the world today. They pop up on Ebay every once in a while, usually for upwards of $300.
If you wanted to get him a cool gift, keep your eyes open on Ebay. You might be able to find an old CD single that he doesn't have, or maybe a cool keychain or tshirt. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask us here...we can help you out.
Hiltrix - You're asking if Joe has any more songs like The Reaper? Do you mean The Reaper Rap, from Bill And Ted's Bogus Journey? That was Steve Vai, not Joe Satriani.
peanutlover - Why is my all-time favorite Joe Satriani song. Cool. :-)

Joe,
From a maven to a maestro--I am able to extend to you nothing more than my heartfelt appreciation for the many nights of musical legerdemain that you have wrought upon my consciousness. I have been witness to many of your enigmatic performances but have, as of yet, to see a Jeff Campitelli solo. Stu's beyond cool but what about a little backbeat in the Motor City? How about an Eric Cadieux organ grind? How about a pinch of horns a la Tom Scott? You know what I'm gettin' at--a little freeformfunkafidefilth dropped down and chopped up in a manner in which only you can deliver. How 'bout a tune in the flavor of Buddy Rich combined with Frank Zappa, with a pinch of George Duke and Stan "the man" Clarke? When will you be in Detroit/Grand Rapids again? Joe, you are a tangible force in an intangible world. Thanks for keeping it real----
Peace & Love To You & Yours,

JS CLONE 1
yeah, i ordered it...i even got news from rich harris on saturday that he allready shipped it to amsterdam !!! so if the post office and customs are nice to me, it should be here in no-time....rich told me that it once took only 3 days to ship to england, and that's really close to amsterdam, heheeh...getting my hopes up !!!
but i thought i allready told you about my order on icq....hmmmm
from what i've seen rich harris is a really cool guy, the best person to buy a guitar from (of course i still have to receive it, but i don't have any worries about it)...rich is a real email-junky, he responds very very fast, and answers every question...i would highly recommend everyone to check out his site ibanezrules ... i made up my mind ordering it from USA (i live in holland) in stead of buying it from a shop....

I noticed something on "If" the other day. When Manu Katche does his little drum solo about half way through, you hear somebody shouting "NOW" in the background, telling the other players when to come back in.

Joe,
So sorry to hear about the guitar someone that would do that probably has absolutely no clue as to what the consequences are to that person that has a part of them taken away like that. Hope he turns up for you .
I also want to thank you for all the pleasure your music has given me . First heard about you in PULSE mag late 80's Ibought Surfing, sound unheard Seen you live 5 times now and have never been disappointed At that time Iwas at the end of a 17 year marriage and hearing your stuff helped me through that Iknow this sounds like a buch of maudlin ass kissing or whatever but I,m 50 years old did high achool late 60's Bay Area so got pretty spoiled as to what quality in rock is Isaw most all of those guys in their hey day and your right there with them. It's what Ithink of as Michael Jordan syndrome ,for every profession within in that profession there is alevel few reach........................
