Jeez, what a load of posts overnight..........
ZAXIMUS - yeah I think he was chased by a bull, but i love the bit when he gets his fingers tied up in knots - lmao, where are from man, do you play ?
MICHELLE - How much oil could a gum boil boil if a gumboil could boil oil ? (that was the other one that my grandfather used to get us on as kids) Thanks for the memory!
STU NOT BOO - You never asked me when i was a newbie (sniff sniff), don't bother now, i'm too offended ;-)
PHRYG DOM - I was just going to gloss over NK99's post, i'm with you but live and let live, as ever the CLARKMEISTER proves to be very interesting as well as theorectical
CLARKY - I'm reading and learning dude (thanks) any sign of the new axe yet ? btw i'm glad that you have only referenced the minors at the mo, I've tried to go a bit bit further with PHRYG DOM and only suceeded in confusing myself, esp cos i'm on 'no playing' break with hand pains. I dread to ask this question and PHRYG DOM will kick my butt for doing it BUT.......... Why are there 15 keys, when 3 of them are enharmonically equivalent (Db, Gb,Cb) to (C#,F#,B)........ if it's going to start another A#/ Bb confusion maelstrom don't worry about it ;-)

....That would be sooo kuul if you did a bonus track for Japan!!
I think "The Gates of Shuri Castle" (Famous Castle here in Okinawa) would be an interesting name, lol!!..........BTW, very captivating reading there on the minors....
Happy 100 Invigor!!
I need to check out what Crystal Jammer was posting about
on "BBM"....Sounds interesting!!

hey joe,
i was at the concert in taipei yesterday. (10/10). i was really glad to see you, and getting your signature on my shirt was just... wow
well.. there was just this one little disappointment. well. i was one of the aftershow winners online. which you probably know. the thing is. i was looking at pictures online. and every single otehr person got a "pass" like the thing on their shirt. and it looked like they all got to "hang out" and talk. but too bad, we didnt get a chance. cuz for some reason, the people in taipei didnt really know what was goin on.
not that i'm complaining.. jsut. i thought the aftershow was more than that. but even if it wasnt. its ok.
i loved the show. especially because the songs that you played were all my favorites. like. surfing with the alien.
and crush of love. .. all my favorites.
thank you once again for being in taiwan.
~Bo (Eugene)
ps: i was the person who came from like "200" miles away. and i said to you. wow, i'm lost of words, i dont know what to say. and i took a picture with you, andmy friends.
i'll send that picture over some day
bye

Crystal Jammer: Sounds to me like "Cut that up"....Although,
it does sound like a longer word than cut....Maybe it has something to do with the following solo?!?! Maybe you can tell us Jon!?!?
I was wondering today....What song has JOE's best Legato run?? I was thinking either "TIME" or "Bells of Lal pt.2"...Or
maybe "SWTA"....Or maybe...Well, enough rambling, have a great weekend all!!
Peace all, /\/\ike

Hey Joe, Enjoyed the Dallas show this year. I wanted to know if Jeff Campitelli ever lived in south Texas. There was a drummer that lived next door to us in Reedville Texas, close to San Marcos.

Crystaljammer - Nowadays, when I hear Big Bad Moon, Big Bad Baboon pops into my head, sorry Joe but it is funny.
ha ha
Austin - I'm getting used to weird stuff. Thanks for the congrats folks, Sunny is having a well earned snooze after demolishing his freebie pedigree chum.
Don't know what anybody else thinks but this year is going too quickly, doesn't seem that long ago when we were standing in front of Joe in London. Aaah time does fly when you're having fun.
LOL Sharon

Death Cube - I'd say Randy Rhodes was my first major influence, before that it was just your standard rock fair G'N'R, Iron Maiden, Metallica ect... Matt King - I'll check out your site this weekend I popped by but didn't have a chance to listen yet. JSCLONE1 - thanks for visiting my site & the comments, there will be polished versions of Shazam & Changes up in the next couple weeks, I'll keep you posted. I stopped by your IUMA site a while ago, I like that classical piece, not that many players are into that style right now,so it's refreshing to hear. Anyways that's all for today, keep the music alive & have a HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERONE!!!! :)) Danny K visit http://dannyk.iuma.com I can never get the link feature to work

chocoholic - Congrats on the awards! Your dobie must be a real beauty! We have 3 dogs all very well trained. A German Shepherd+something mix (we aren't quite sure), a Lab+Husky+Collie mix & a West Highland Terrier. The Lab & Shepherd have both had many levels of obedience and are so well behaved, they are the best. We also have 3 cats, so it's a bit of a zoo around here most of the time. You can see them here: http://fambly.freeyellow.com/images/gnd02.gif & here: http://fambly.freeyellow.com/images/gnd01.gif
As for the ASCII art, I've gathered up a huge collection of them since I began goofing around on the internet, I don't create or draw them myself, I just copy & paste them. It does take quite a bit of getting used to, you need to learn the difference between "fixed-width" fonts and non fixed-width fonts, there are many online tutorials & whatnot that can teach you how to use them. Good luck! It's fun.

Webmaster: Is there any chance of getting the Bass/Drum solo on a downloadable audio file, because, well I thought that was one of the coolest Bass solos I have ever heard, and I only got to hear it once. So please, put up a downloadable version of it, for the Bissonette fans. ;)

Death Cube - Before playing guitar I was a drummer... mad on early 70's Yes, early 70's Genesis, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Rush, Thin Lizzy, UFO etc.... my uncle introduced my to guitar and I tinkered for a while [enjoying it but nothing special].. guitars turned out to be easier to practice with than drums ['cos the noise] and I ended up playing my guitar more and more.... there was no clear point at which I said "I now want to play guitar and not drums" I just kind of drifted from one into the other... and then totally fell in love with the guitar... not a mind blowing story - but it is my one... lol
JSC1 - as I recall I could not download your vid..... we've tried this more than once... lol what's the address... I'll try again...
phryg dom / r6r - they key point with minors, especially the melodic minor is not to confuse it with the jass usage... Jazzers treat melodic minor as a mode [which I'll go into another time], what I was describing was its origins - why it came about and how it was used.... a very interesting scale that one is....
Mega Boyd - Geddy Lee makes me want to learn to sing with tight pants on... lol
Choco / Michelle - I believe you... thousands wouldn't .... lol
r6r - I've not heard about the 7 string beyond it beyond their no1 priority..... fingers crossed...
the main thing about the natural minor is that it is related to a major... learn the major, then learn the math [i.e. note 6 of the major is where the minor starts] and then you have it all... the available chords are the same.. it's now just a matter of experminenting and playing....
The reason that there are 'too many' keys is purely a math thing.... i.e. it is possible to calculate them so they 'exist'.. in practice you'd go for the one with the fewest number of '#'s or 'b's... for example Cb contains 7 'b' notes... B contains 5 '#' notes... so it is more elegent to use B.
ovation - find me a painting of something in Japan .... especially if there is a nice and sinister piece of history / story line to go with it.... and there will be the bonus Jap Trak...
michelle - can you talk us through step one with the toothpaste... lol

ZAXIMUS - I'm in the UK, being playing about 20 years and listening to Joe since SWTA, I went the other way and got defeatist about things, didn't really play at all for about 7 years then went to pub rock bands. On a roll at the moment with PHRYG DOM teaching me loads of theory, but a spot of tendonitis has kept me off playing for the last week or so :-(
Have a good weekend all, no doubt there will be loads to catch up with on Monday.
