potato head guy I think you're refering to a technique that Joe created, its bascially sweeps right your left hand whilst muting the strings with your right hand which crosses over your left arm lol kinda hard to describe, hard to do at first but with solid practice you'll get it eventually, i've been learning the mystical potato head groove thing sweeps for a while now and they're actually starting to sound pretty decent, heres a link to a picture of Joe doing the sweeps to help give you a better idea of what i'm blabbering on about http://www.satriani.com/2000/road/lwpg.cgi?start=0;showkey=joe-5;dir=2000-07-02/;showimg=2000-07-02/joe-5.jpg .........Joe Rules......i hope that link worked....

The simulcast rehearsal was awesome! I downloaded it at college the other day it watched it at least three times. My college has like a T3 modem- in other words, I downloaded it all in a matter of seconds. My favorite part was the Joe's effect setup and the rehearsal of I Believe and Crushing Day (that song ROCKS). Anyways, I'll be back!

Yo Joe,
I've been a huge fan since 1988. I've had the pleasure to catch you live at the Ritz in Raleigh, NC 3 times over the last several years.
I have a question: When I saw the G3 Tour in Raleigh in July 2001, it was the ultimate guitarist dream to see you, Vai, and Petrucci indivdullly and on then on the same stage. The show was even better than I imagined it would be (and I imagined a lot). Though I'm sure you've been asked this... when are you guys going to cut a DVD or CD for that tour. It was a pricless show for any guitarist. I still drool about over a year later!
By the way I have several pictures from the show if your interested. I even have some close ups of when I met Steve Vai and John Petrucci after the show. Let me know. Thanks for all the great years and your excercises in ths month's Guitar Player magazine. I've enjoyed working through them. Peace out man!!!

lol Phrygian Na, i dont want to cheat ;), thanks, i'll take a look at the 'normal' (lol) tabs anyway, i just really like the power tabs! cos they look all real and everything hehe, lol i showed my mooosic teacher a book today i bought on scales and modes and he said he liked the word 'phrygian' the best lol......Joe Rules.....

Hey again, can anyone tell me what chorus pedal joe uses live? I thought he used the boss super chorus but im not sure if hes using a different one for this tour, i want to get the Rubina sound of Live In San Francisco! For chirstmas im getting a new amp (marshall probably) and i was thinking of trying to get some pedals Joe uses live, does anyone think this is a good idea? also, does anyone have any other pedals to suggest other than joe's usual live set-up?
