anibur, sometimes you even get those "Joe Sandioni? What does he sing?" people. LOL!! I get so giddy when somebody says "Yeah, Satriani is good" but sometimes that's followed by "Kirk Hammett tought him everything he knows!". LMAO!!
LOVE YA JOE!!

Yep, Rubina is a great song. I fell asleep to it last night. What is suprising is that this time I didn't wake up during the rest of the CD or at the end of Headless Horseman. (The final "whip") I often wake up right when a CD or tape stops. Uncanny?
The guy from Luton: Satch was just in the UK a couple of months ago. Expect him back next year maybe, or the year after. Be prepared to travel.
JBlaze: Macs are the computing equivalent of small cute hatchback cars with no power that you can't do up. They look cool, they may have nice little features and stuff, but there is no grunt, no flexibility and no room for upgrading or expanding. Most of the time if you have more than 3 applications open at once, they crash. Sucks if you need to use Codewarrior, Internet Explorer, Notebook and telnet.
And I think the reason no-one is reacting to Avarice's posts (apart from people who like to humour others) is because we've all learnt his tricks and have realised what his game is. It's quite a clever one too, until it's exposed. Well done bro.
I keep typing the wrong keys. These iMacs suck. can't see the l's on the screen, so keep typing too many or not enough.

PS Anyone else think "I am become death" makes no sense? Sort of reminds me of "All your base are belong to us"

Last night was band night again. It was good if you were an observer, but awful if you were involved. Start at 7pm. At 7:30, the guy in charge decided to get up and play a few songs on acoustic guitar. The main act was there, but the other band didn't show until well after 8. We waited that long, and they only played 2 songs. Unbelievit. Sound was pretty good, and the lights and atmosphere was great. Pity about the tardiness of the performers.
When we were packing up, my mate's girlfriend picked up my hihat and ride cymbals and said: "I'm just going to put on my hat and go for ride."
Groans all around. Then I said: "be careful, and don't crash into Tom." Groans again. Then my mate said: "yeah, you might get snared. Or you might splash into a puddle."
It was late.
Yeah, when I mention Joe Satriani, I normally get "who?" or "oh yeah, I remember Surfing with the Alien" but it's usually the first. When I play it, (CDs) I get "what is this crap" or "ugh, is this Joe Satriani?" but when I mention him to my friends, I get groans and eyebrow raising. Hmm, controversial.
Later all, BEN
PS I want you, to fly this plane to Luton...please...

Welp, Joe...
I know this has nothing to do with you and your music, but there is another great guitarist out there that isn't getting the respect he properly diserves... He is none-other than "Rik Emmett" Ex-Triumph guitar player from the 70s & 80s band...
I went to see this guy for the second time on Saturday Evening and he put on an absolutely beautiful show... He has mellowed out from the speed demon he used to be though, not such a metal head as people once thought of him, now he's considered by many respected musicians as the "Renaissance Man Of Guitar" His style is so diverse that it's hard to catagorize him now. He sings beautifully in any style of music from Classical, To Folk, To Jazz, To Acoustic Rock, To Blues, Even Bluegrass.... His latest CD, I recommend to all is entitled "Handiwork". It is a work of pure art, I've listened to this CD 5 times since Saturday and it's amazing, I can't put it down... Again gang... if you're looking for a change in style of playing... Rik's your man! Joe... I also invite you to buy that CD, of course you play at an equal level but to hear a change in style even for yourself can not hurt one bit!
Also one more thing... 2 new tunes on my IUMA site Gang!
1. I Finally Made It Home
2. Linear Motion

Again... I hope you enjoy...
Peace... Barrie

JS Clone1 You are absolutely correct, the solo to Rubina is definitely something special. It's very special to me because I have a sister named Rubina and also because it was the first Satriani solo I ever learned.

Plugin conversation: The interaction between guitar and amp is not present with plugins. Try playing something muted, like the verse section to Ozzy's "I Don't Know" clean, then applying the most expensive amp sim plugin you can find. I'd put money on it that it still sounds like a wasp in a jam (jelly) jar.
Naty: Where've you been bambina? The Tuesday night jam? Nah - I'm too shy for that :-(
OK, it's far too early for me to be not in bed, later! Dave

PhrygianDominant Yeah i saw your stuff about the behringer (spelling) amp, soz i didn't reply! I've never heard of that make before, from other peples opinionsand your owns it certainly sounds like its the business. However, i think i'd be more suited to a mid-range marshall, like the avt150head i was asking about, lol i dunno if this is mid-range but i certainly like the look of this amp and im going to have a go on one in my local guitar shop next time im in town to see if it wins me over or not, thanks for the help........Joe Rules.....
p.s the last bus never came to take me and my chums to school today and i wasn't going to walk the 3 miles to school with my guitar so its a day off for me!, weee! lol...laters...

Phyg. Dom. - You've been a busy boy on here, are you up in Manchester today or have you had to go to work :-0 !
Clarky - (a few days late) Great story about the martial arts observations, i've taken a look at why i get pain and am experimenting with different guitar heights etc. Gotta tell ya (and no disrespect to martial artists, i appreciate the dedication required), the mental image i got from your story........... sat there pondering with a guitar, when a voice sounds in the room..........'use the force, luke' LMAO. Glad to see you had a blast at the Jemfest.

r6rocker LOL PhrygianDominant Damn you! You beat me to the 'when all this was fields' joke lol! I was reading about clarkys 'g everywhere' thing, but im not sure if i've got it right, i know where each of the 7 positons start but im not sure if i've got the fingering exactly correct, this may take a while to type out but i dunno any other way to explain lol, in 1st position does the exercise go:
E(3rd fret) E(5thfret) E(7thfret), then, A(3rd fret) A(5thfret) A(7th fret), then, D(4th fret) D(5th fret) D (7th fret) and then, G(4th fret) G(5th fret) G(7th fret) then B(5th fret) B (7th fret) then E(5th fret) and then back down, note that i wrote the notes there for each string, not the actual note fretted, anyway is this correct? and then u simply get the 7 positions by starting from each following note in the scale (GABCDEF#) i hope i've been clear! any help will be greatly appreciated.....Joe Rules...

XCPX: I got the same thing, except on the B string I was playing 5 7 8 and then 5 and 7 on the E, cos Clarky's notes said you play three notes on each string except the top E. It sounds like I misunderstood and you got it right ;-)

Clarky!!: AWESOME MAN!! You got to meet Ricky and also jam together!! Thanks for giving a shout out from me, and it sounds like JemFest was a total success!! I'm sre you played great also dude....Any tunes from your site!?!? This should help spread the word of Clarky :-)....BTW, Goju-Ryu....Nice hard style....Many of the old (17/1800's) Masters that went to China to study Martial Arts returned to Okinawa to create their own styles...Thus, Karate was evolved into what it is today....Before WWII, Mainland (Japan) Japanese soldiers would come down to Okinawa and forbid the locals from practicing the Art....It was then "secretly" studied through Eisa Dance which is performed in the streets and at Festivals....The Art was hidden (and also studied descretely) in these dances unbeknownst to the Japanese soldiers...... Incredible....The History of Karate....(Sorry for my babbling,
but Guitar talk and Karate get me going!!)
Michelle: Gotta have "Bells of Lal 2" in there!! "Warm Regards" or "Love Thing" would be a great closer....Also, about the Kirk Hammett thingy......I've had some mentally challenged people (because they actually believe this) say that Kirk is waaaaay better than JOE....Then I put in "CP" at work, and I get the Damn! Who is this, LOL!!!!
Happy 200th PhrygianDominant!! You've almost got a years worth of posts, lol, keep up the great work!! You've got a great site and great tunes also, BTW!!~~~~
jblaze1: LMAO dude!!....And great answer Michelle ;-)
r6rocker: lol, and I had to shovel my way out of the house just to walk down the front steps so I could walk to school 20 miles/40?clicks. away!! lol....
I gotta figure out XCrystal PlanetX' formula....sounds right....

Hey guys, take a lookie at this:
So between each set of notes ( except between E-F and B-C ) there will be a sharp/flat note. (e.g. the note between F and G is F# or Gb, they are the exact same note just with a different name)
I pasted this from www.cyberfret.com on the section under scales, i quote 'they are the exact same note' is this correct or are they talking bull?.....Joe Rules....
