Also, Jeff Trout/Threshar (our fearless leader at stuarthamm.net) just posted the info he collected from his trip to Stu's recent clinic with Dave DiCenso, check it out, there's info about a new album and a possibility of a GHS TOUR!!!!!!

for a new one, you know - wear it snaps in to hole so it will stay in one place,?? -- actually, I know that
anwser....Just talking about something pleasent,, after reading all the post for the last 4 days, I feel
like our happy little group of Satch Fanatics is going to hell, and it SUXXXX....with all the bad stuff
happining in our world, Nobody wants this...This is the one and only place i can come to where people feel the
way i do about Joe and his music.......None of my freinds understand---but i know you all do...

drafter37 - Drums are the things you see drummers play live...the whole set of cymbals and toms and a bass and a snare and all of that stuff. Percussion instruments are a broader category, and include things like wood blocks, xylophones, and maracas.

hmm... I agree with drafter37, the world is in a pretty messed up situation. This is the place I go to for some peace and quiet. This is the place where everyone is positive and likes Joe & his music. Let's keep it that way. I've had enough of wars and bombs. My economics teacher went to Bali for IB conference and never came back. The last thing I want is to have another war here in T2J. Stay happy, people.

Dear Joe and Webmaster,
This is a plea for mostly Classic Joe at the concert at Seattle's Moore Theater in November.
I have loved Joe's music since I first heard "Always With You Always With Me" for the first time on KISW in Seattle in 1988 from my office at Microsoft. The song touched something inside. I had no idea who it was until weeks later I heard the song for a 2nd time and found out the artist's name was Joe Satriani. I picked up the album and was surprised to find out the rest of the music was rocking and also touched something inside.
I bought the previous albums and waited for Flying In A Blue Dream. I loved Blue Dream, both the touching, deep songs and the rocking ones. I also loved The Extremist.
But I have to be honest. The Techno-Pop basis for Engines of Creation was disappointing. Joe has something inside him that he expresses in his music. It was mising in that album. I'm going out tomorrow to buy the latest album and I'm hoping for the best.
But I beg of you, please pick 75% of your songs from Extremest and before. That is the music that touches us.
AND PLEASE PLAY "CRUSHING DAY" I've been to 4 concert tours and never heard it. I'll never forget, as I stood crushed against the stage at Seattle's Arena, the 2nd time I ever saw Joe (Eric Johnson opened up) as another guy around me started chanting for "Crushing Day". It would be a real treat to finally hear this song live.
Can some other Satch fans weigh in on how you feel about Surfing, Blue Dream, and Extremist compared to Engines Of Creation and some of the other latest stuff?

I saw something really funny the other night at Joe's gig. I think Joe has a new member in his band. Joe actually has a live DJ!!!! Yup! I saw his son backstage doing some mixing and scratching on two stools!! The very stools used when Joe plays Midnight & Starry Night on! Ha!
Does anyone else have a tendancy to play faster, better and more accurate after watching the LISF?? Cuz I do. I really believe in learn by seeing. The same thing happens when I finish watching a tennis game. I play better afterwards. Amazing...

Hey Joe,
Sorry about PEARLY. I thought the name was Chromeboy; or something. Anyways I obviously would contact you if I heard anything about your guitar, and hopefully you'll find the information your looking for. Sow how are the Bissonette Bros. doing? I hope to have a chance to hear from you through my own private e-mail address at,...bluepowder777@aol.com.
Aside from all the other things I had to say up above,...I have been a fan of yours for about 12 years now. And I can't seem to download any of your movie/video clips through anything. Once I did through the "MOVIE PLAYER" and you were talking to the camera guy while Stu Hamm was sitting next to you. I couldn't hear the Audio though. Hey I painted one of my Ibanez's (RG 329)Graphite Grey; with a Silver Metallic paint pen ; like you did your old Black JS' - it looks pretty kool. I named it "ORION" - maybe you can use that name for your new ALBUM title. You know? the belt of ORION - located somewhere in the Palean Galaxy.
See ya

hurricane stew - i could barely agree less about Joe's music - everyone who listens to any particular piece of music has a different experience listening to it. Now since I only discovered Joe with EOC, this might help the fact that i liked it. But it took me quite a while to like it, and it's probably my favourite still- plus all my favourites are the post extremist albums- But, as far as I'm concerned, play "lights of heaven" live and do whatever you like in the rest of the setlist.... it's kinda like that saying "love God and do what you like"
dragonchild- entirely agreeing there on principessa. I really love it too. AS soon as you mentioned it it went into my head (without listening to it) and it's on repeat plasy at the moment. It's like music at the end of a Bond film, almost- however my favourite is blood and glory (it would be, I am from England)
Which reminds me... who likes fawlty towers?

For the record I didn't find the original posts offensive (thats just my perspective), the presence of orange text doesn't mean anything to me and i'd hate to see anybody leave here because a difference of opinion got out of hand.

I seem to remember back in the day when our fellow Satchmate(ProgX) was gunned down during a robbery attemp.I also remember that we(T2Jers)banded together(pardon the pun)to wish him well. For a bunch of total strangers to unite, throw differences aside to show support for another total stranger,I thought was absolutely........incredible. I did not know him personally but still felt sorrow for him & his family, as did most if not all people here.It shouldn't be something bad to happen to bring us together .......What would happen if we here at T2J were all invited to a special get together to meet Joe & here him play for us privately,Then an after show party?.Would we be at each others throats?I really hope not!!!!.Go to a concert wondering if you'll run across an enemy??not a good thing:( Quite frankly I think we would all get along famously...... I truely hope Joe doesn't read all this Gobeldegook because I think he would be upset to some degree. But he will most likely hear about it from Eric anyway...what a mess.. I have also noticed that there are many more new members logging on for the first time. What must they be thinking about us??.... Remember:Once a T2Jer,Always a T2Jer.Like a Boomerang,we always come back...lol..:)....... For those in conflict,Take a break for a while....We'll be here when you come back. But don't go away mad, just go away!....lol....just joking!!! Come on folks, lighten up....even if you know you're right...Just let it go!.. pretty please with Raspberry Jam on it!!! Do it for the 'ol blaze.....L8er

Strange is a fun recording and I am enjoying EVERY song. I`m diggin the complex groove laid down by Jeff and Matt, it`s kind of like the less is more rule (not to fusion) to writing.
I am a forty-one year old drummer currently playing in a blues and rock cover band. I have listened to you perform In Canada and in San Diego at 4th and B. That`s a few years of crazy and beautiful music. Thank you for all the emotions that
run in my head while listening........cool.
