r6r - yeah the G7 add 9 confused me too..... lol no apple for teacher.. 'cos he thinks it's a pear... doh!!!... lol

Talking to Stone... simple.. not flash but it still makes me shiver... I think because it is 'where' it was writen from inside... it makes me sad but very proud to have writen it...

Xm7 is always calculated from the key of Xm....
X^7 [and beyond] comes from X major
Xm7 [and beyond] comes from Xm
X7 [and beyond] comes from what ever major key that X is the 5th of.

Remember that this is only for working out the notes that make the chord... this does not mean that Xm7 does not exist in other keys...

dont forget that Am7 not only appears in Am, C major but also Em, G major.... and many others too...

r6r - think of it as banging... lol the banging together of two bodies... lol... so if I'm lucky, I'll get to do some percussion later...

so this being the case... does everyone go to the bar during a drum solo to give him some privacy???

appart from that is Grand Unification Theory... but I'm sure there's a solution for that too...me Steve H and the boys at CERN just have not found it yet.....

Sharon - I've been accused of many things... mostly all dispicable and therefore mostly all true....

Hurricane Stew - EOC is very different from Joe's other work. I didn't buy that album right away, but by the time I did I had already heard that it was a techno album. So I wasn't expecting the same old stuff. That might be why I like it more than most people.

Eddie1 - Joe uses the clean channel on his amps. All of his distortion comes from the Boss DS1.
ovation1 - I think Al Surfer made the original Winger post. I'll post it in just a minute.
chocoholic - Happy 100!
PhrygianDominant - I think the song is related to that guitar exercise. Sometime early this year Joe made a comment about working on The Eight Steps. A lot of people here asked if it was the same song, and Joe basically agreed.
JS Clone 1 - Yeah, I know drums are percussion. Maybe I sounded confusing there.

Hi everyone. I searched T2J all the way back through the 06-25-01 archive page. I think the following post is the earliest mention of Winger. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.

...Austin...

September 24 10:34 Al Surfer:elpp - LOL!!! That is indeed a classic. Although he forgot to tell Joe what a great job he does on the "ESPN Sportscenter" theme, haha. There really should be rookie guidelines to follow or you get a hazing and banned to the "Winger" site (that guy sure played a mean top string on his bass, haha). I'm still waiting for a reply from President Bush. I e-mailed him over a week ago! Well, I'll just sit here and wait. Being the "Simpson's" fan that you are, maybe you can tell me why everyone "D'Ohhhhhhhhh's" Joe when he is on stage, lol. .................. By the way, I thought the "Toe Satriani" entry was pretty good. :)

I didn't mean to come of as bitter or against "pre-fab pop crap" (to quoke myself) some of it is quite good (fyi greg howe is in the backing band for insync & enrique )& as a session guitarist pays my bills, but it's the behind the scene politicts that gets under your skin. But enough about that, have a great weekend everyone. And remember keep smilin'

Nick - got this from the FAQ in the Archive Vault:

#31 dazajac Q: Hey Joe! A good friend of mine told me that you and Steve Vai got together and wrote a couple, at least one, song. He said that the song he heard was called Formula 1. Is there any truth to this, and if so, is it possible that you two might put out a recording of it. Thanks.
A: not me...

Dear Joe, I am a student from Saudi Arabia here in the US, I have been going to school for more than a year now.I came here so I can enhance my education and learn as much as I can so that when I go home I can help provide for my family and maybe contribute in educating my people. Due to the tensions between americans and arabs and all the racism that has been going on back and forth, at many times I do not feel that I belong here and at times I feel very down and that I can't go on with my studies. Many of my friends that came here to study have went back home because of all this tension, they could not go on and they felt they should be close to their families. I am by myself here, and it's hard, but one thing, and I am being very honest, that gives inspiration to complete my studies is your music. When I listen to it I fell that I can accomplish anything no matter what stands in my way. It gives me alot of joy and energy to keep learning and not give up. I want to thank you very much for this, I know this might seem silly since I don't know you, but I have alot of respect for your music and I hope you don't stop doing what you do..I will always be a fan.Thank you Abdullah

OK guys i need your help. I'm sure you've seen me post a couple of messages in the past about me looking for an amp, and recently the Marshall AVT50head looked quite nice for my price budget. But now i'm stuck again. Since i'm doing GCSE music at school and we've started doing compositions as coursework it would be really handy if i could record onto my pooter (computer). At school we have 3 computers and each one has CubaseVST and its excellent for recording stuff using a keyboard. It would save me a lot of time if i was able to do this but i am unable to because neither school or i has anything that i can plug my guitar into which will enable me to record stuff onto Cubase. So...i'm now thinking about scrapping the whole idea of getting an amp for chirstmas and instead buying a Line6 guitar port or maybe a pod. Does anyone have any help/suggestions/ etc which maybe would help me? Any help will be greatly appreciated......Joe Rules.....

XCPX: If Joe says he didn't do it, I'll go with that. I think I got that track when AudioGalaxy was going, and it's *kinda* like our guys, but not quite. There are four jams of the *real* Joe & Steve on this site.

And the amp / recording thing - my Behringer V-Amp 2 is *the business*. There's a free software editor for it, and you'd only need a simple adaptor cable to get its output into your pooter (one of those "big to little headphone things". There're amp sims and speaker sims built in, along with FX, etc. They're dead cheap, built well, and you can also download patches from the net onto them. I think I paid just over a ton for mine - they're probably a bit cheaper now. *And* you can plug it into an amp or PA for playing live. Check out behringer.com for more info.

HTH dude, and anyone I didn't thank for the recent stuff - thanks! I emailed some of you personally, but not all of you have your emails visible. Enjoy your weekend! Dave

XCrystal PlanetX!! Here's the advice you're looking for...

Yes... I heard those Line 6 guitar ports are really cool..... and if you have a pretty good PC with a good sound card?! Then the Guitar port is right for you... But the PODs will give you any Amp Tone, Distortion, Reverb, Delay, Tremolo, Chorus you can think of out of your current amp!!

It would be like having a whole new amp and effects line up already for you... and they can be used with Midi as well on your PC...

I myself, have The Line 6 Spider 212 100 watt combo amp... under $1000.00 and it's loud, I mean really loud... you could drown out any drum set with that puppy! it gives you all the best Classic Amp Tones including all the best Modern Amp Tones... then it has all your phrasing effects: Chorus, Flange, Tremolo... 3 different delays... Delay, Tape Echo, Ping Pong... 4 channels all programable... and Digital Reverb... Sweet sounds come out of this thing... and then I rigged up a way to record direct into my PC... Amazing sounds can be reproduced if you have the right recording software and the intiative to experiment!!!

The tunes I have on my iuma site show some of the different tones you can get with some of the Line 6 products!!! Download and I hope you enjoy...
