JOE, it was great to finally meet you. Tell me if it was kind of difficult to play that early and in that cold weather at the Giants world series rally. I know my fingers would lock up a little. You sounded great and I really dig that low low tone you get with your wah pedal when its lifted up. I noticed your tech was playing around with a knob on the side, what exactly is that? Anyway, I hope to see you at our show on tuesday night, and if we get the chance, we can do one of your favs, down down down!!!!

Death Cube K - I'm up late tonight. 12:30am. Don't start school until 10:20am tomorrow. I am listening to some music and I decided to listen to your Cube Become I. I really dig this man. I ilke that little climbing and then dropping melody you do in the beggining and the shred solo run is cool. Very buckethead-ish. The bassline's kinda funky, funny, mysterious. Cool stuff man.

Let me know when there's more. I'm now officially a cube fan.

Ditto that, OCP. OCP ROCKS. This guy's music is just so right. It's so damn good. How else can I explain it?

JBlaze, if I wore a patch for everything I was addicted to, I'd look like walking bubble wrap!!! lol!

Clarky, equality was never a big issue with me, but if I'm doing the same job your doing, for the same amount of years, I better be getting paid the same rate. I once worked at a place where the boss gave this guy a dollar raise because he got his girlfriend pregnant. I got a quarter like everyone else. I did 10x more work than this guy (doing the same job), but he got the raise because he forgot to use a condom and was now a "provider". That was back in 1985 or 86, and that's the last time I remember having a beef with equality, so I'm not sooo bad :)

AUSTIN LEWIS- yeah that figures, i was actually EXTREMELY surprised they showed joe on tv that one time, i mean...anyone mentioning joe satriani or steve vai on tv is basically shot on site when the camera pans away... not surprised at all they didnt show it (if he played it already), and if he hasnt played it yet and will in the future i wont be surprised if they fail to show him...wonder if people will notice? i mean, every other game starts with the national anthem then suddenly one doesnt? things that make you go muthafuckin hmmmmm

I was going to ask Joe if he got tickets for the World Series. It looks like He got the best price "free", unless I misunderstood the last postings. Congrats Matt. I hope She loves hearing you play music as much as my wife loves to hear me play. Being a Musician and a lover of music, I have learned that it makes for a great relationship. Don..

Mike Portnoy's drum kit?!? Yikes. That's a dream. Nothing compared to Alex Van Halen though. Check out his setup at www.zildjian.com (I'll find the actual link later) btw it's just a representation, not a photo. Man, my kit only has 5 drums.

And yes, Austin a rim shot is actually a type of snare hit. Same as saying a "hammer-on" or "strum" or something like that. It makes a cracking sound, which I prefer. I always play a rimshot for non-mellow timing. (Rolls are a bit trickier to rimshot all the time.) Means your sticks break way more often...

Yeah, okay so yet again people keep answering questions before I got to them. I back up Clarky's comments. What Paul Huxley is talking about is what tends to get called a "click" really tech isn't it! Clarky called it side sticking or something. I don't do them that way either, when I do a click I hold the stick the other way around, so that the tip is over the edge and the bottom is on the snare head. Instead of having the stick go over the bottom edge of the snare it goes over the side. These "clicks" are used for soft stuff common in jazz and contemporary stuff. Dammit Clarky I was going to mention the flam.

JSC1 - Dude i really feel for you on the 'hands' front, but man, you haven't lost 4 months of your life, you've just had ONE of your options removed. I hope that your recovery is as quick as possible, i've had to take time off myself and it does suck, but keep your chin up man, at least your ears still work ;-)

MATT KING - congratulations man, all the best for the future.

CLARKY - i always suspected that you were full of flam lol, btw wasn't it Mabel Greers Toyshop who were the originators of prog ? (wink) Did you ever check out the Patrick Moraz solo album, another masterpiece. Also on the 'old git been to' gig list (on a prog tip) I did see Peter Hamill (VDGG) live AND i'm not over 40! (but it would suggest that i am-lol) I was driving home last night and saw a 4 x 4 with the number plate BAD 61T (honest), it wasn't you was it ;-)

XCPX - Sell your Dad's car and buy a Mesa-Boogie ;-)

MICHELLE - I have to say that i found you post very offensive, surely contraception is the responsibility of both parties..............blah.............blah ............blah ( yeah okay i'm joking) ;-)

CLARKY - at the risk of seeming extremely Old Gitish, wasn't it the early incarnation of YES that wrote 'White Bicycle', later a hit for Nazareth ? Also don't know whether you've come across Nora Jones (heavily advertised on TV at the mo'), somebody mentioned Ravi Shankar on here, well that's his daughter.............. christ i'm full of crap ;-)

Anyone here own, played, or know anything about Caparison guitars?? They sure do sound good and also look good....I kinda' like the clock inlays....They also have slim frets but no floating trem??

Edit: Thank's for the link Narface, I'll check it out when I get a chance....BTW, Mr. Orange is a rock band here in Japan whos guitarist "SCHON" is heavily influenced and taught by Paul Gilbert....He's wicked!!....The link should be: www.mrorange.com....(haven't looked for the link yet)
