Hey to All! Has any one tried out the Petrucci music man signature guitar? How do they play? It seems like that weird concave scoop on the guitar would feel weird on the right forarm when it is played.

Joe, Your the man. What happened to Jonathan Mover? Also, why is Stu not playing on this one. The combo of having those two play for you is the greatest...rock on

Dyer - A lot of the names are bogus. I have one where it says Al DiMeola playing Mediteranean Sundance with Paco De Lucia and Joe Satriani. Obviously not. One of the only ones Joe did with another musician is Bissonette, the drummer. A song called Lum Lum. Hardcore jazz guitar.
Ethn - Jems, pphheh. They are so .... non versatile tonally. I mean for a guitar with HSH combo. And, I mean look at all the Jem models there are. You either have an alder/ebony, super high end freq. Jem7V or an almost muddy sounding Basswood/PAF Pro combo. Eugh, enough with basswood. Mohog's the stuff. If a guitar is gonig to have basswood, it's got to have the right pickup config. Like the JemBSB - basswood with EVO's. I have never played one but I can imagine that would be a great combo. I have heard Death Cube's recordings but who knows what tone is what after distortion and editing.
The JS models sound decent for a basswood guitar and the Fred pickup. The Fred pups are very high in mids or it balances out with basswood nicely.

JS Clone 1 - The Mediterranean Sundance (/Rio Ancho)song you speak of is indeed Al DiMeola & Paco de Lucía but the third guy (obviously not Joe) is John McLaughlin. This track is off of the album Friday Night In San Francisco, one of my all-time favorite acoustic guitar albums. Anyone who has not yet heard it, do so immediately, I can almost guarantee you will not be dissapointed.
Check it out!

I'm finally caught up! LOL...
tebong - Look at the discography section of this site.
ovation1 - Alright, Mike! :-) It's good to hear that you finally got the GHS stuff in the mail. Have you ordered the newest one (GHS 3)?
Jimmy Vale - List yourself as attending your show on the road page and you might win aftershow passes.

js clone 1 i agree with you. some of the jems i have played really did not sound very good, the 7bsb rocks so far . i have used it with a reggae band, a funk/r&b,metal,and counry folk and had enough tones to get by in most situations, on captains crack's ho down the bsb straight into my jubilee head miked with an sm57, it pretty clucky. but i agree that there are much more versitile guitars out there......................just not PRS's they all sound muddy.
ocps470 i have tried the EBMM john petrucci 7 string it rocks. it was the only guitar that i played that kicked a$$ right out of the box, and for a 2 pickup guitar have a cornicopia of delishes tones i was amazed . it was a very alive sounding guitar, definatly check one out !!
ethn i think it may have come from that source.
how about this one............ raise a joint this is a new anagram for you to figure it out!

Man, Clarky,
I'm finally getting to do some cool analysis in my theory class (the one where Ice 9 was the rock example),
This stuff is so fun! Goin over Petrushka right now... man, just thinking of all the things Stravinsky does in this!!!
It's so crazy! No blending! The "Petrushka" chord! Egad this is fun!

How are the Satchfans doing? I just got back from Guitar Center and was admiring the JS100 and 1000 they had. It's beautiful! Was just messing around on the Marshall tube amps. awesome sounds.

hi guys, just checking in. Nothing to report really... life is a-going through some changes. Clarky - yes of course it's G5 add 9 and not G add 9, due to the lack of a B. Thanks for your feedback on "TAB only guitar fodder" LOL. Also LOL @ trem arm too - i have a friend who has two Dysons, but still manages to "Hoover" with them!!!!.
Naty: Where are you these days?
Martina: you doing OK?
Boot people: all boxed up and ready to go, sorry for the delay, things have been, ahem, different around here
Take it easy everyone, Dave

Ethn - Mohog?! I want one!!!!!! Well, only if it doesn't breaks strings like that. The DBK does not suck. I have heard those guitars. That pickup/wood config works out reeeaal nice.
Death Cube - String breakage on Ibanez Edge trems blows. Only thing that is keeping me from never playing these guitars is that when I string them, I don't clip the strings. I takes all the excess string at the heads and coil them around the pegs loosely. If a string breaks, unlock the nut and saddle lock, take out the broken bit, unwind the string a bit, reinsert, retune. Takes about 3 - 5 minutes.
