Hey Joe,
I am a huge fan and I went to see your gig in Philly on Sept. 8, 2002. It was the most amazing night of my life. My boyfriend and I got engaged that night during one of my favorite songs, Always With You, Always With Me. My boyfriend plays guitar and you are his inspiration. He is even going to play Always With You, Always With Me at our reception. Thanks for making such great music!!
Sincerely,
Gayle
p.s. we even named our cat after you

Yeah Joe... All this talk about theory and stuff... well... it's always been a major thorn in my side, guess that's why I learned how to play by ear mostly, I eventually figured out tablature and a bit of theory... F.A.C.E. & Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge is about as far as it got... I had this book that not only showed the fingerings to all the basic chords and some bar chords but it also showed a complete diagram of all the notes on the fretboard and by that practical knowledge & hands on approach, it made me a better player... That diagram opened up ideas to me... I started figuring out scales that I didn't know names to, then later on with further study I learnt the names to them and then realizing that I had already learned them by dumb luck... They say that "ignorance is bliss"... I tend to agree... :)
I play mostly with "Heart & Passion" of what I know of the instrument.... letting my fingers do the walking and making new discoveries this way, and I always seemed to steer clear of the Technical side of things because it always seemed I was practicing for my Grade 7 Music Class where my music teacher started singing (AVARICE, you're going to laugh) Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba (His right eye was caved in after an unfortunate car accident so it was a little scarey to see him do this) and you had to figure out what key he was singing in while reading sheet music at the same time when I played the Trombone, I played the Tuba as well... It sucked... so my early days of theory were absolutely pathetic and annoying because all I see is some poor old man with an uneven glass eye singing BA BA BA BA BA (in what ever key he came up with) ARRRGGGHHH!!!

Niacin, was such a great show, I will never forget it. I'm am sorry DT fans but I have seen MIke portnoy 3 times & he is so high on my list, but Dennis Chambers blew me away, he is the man, & a nice guy too. not only did I get to see the show up front in a club of only a hundred people but I got to hang out with Billy Sheehan for the longest time, He inspired me so much as a person & a bass player. Well all I can say is it Ruled, If you can catch the show. SEE IT, & oh yeah Time Machine please, MegaBoyd

Hi all... I forgot to mention this earlier, but everyone should try to watch the meteor shower this week. The best viewing time is supposed to be 2:36 AM Pacific Time (5:36 AM Eastern Time) on Tuesday morning. So go outside and stare at the sky. ;-)
