Just wanted to drop a note and let You know that You have Inspired me to be a better player. I have taken time to be cleaner and not so dependent on effects, I still krank it up but now I have to pay more attention to technique. You're live two c.d. set was incredible, after watching it I have changed my pick technique and picked up a little more speed. You still are the one's today are judged by. No pressure huh ? Thanks.

clarky- yeah, i can think of tonnes of priests/vicars who do just that. It makes me cringe when i hear on the news that "the church of england" has said "blah blah blah", which is clearly not right if you actually look at the bible. Deeply annoying as it is though, the C of E has got it better than many people. I am also very lucky cause my church has a good bunch of clergy who really do attempt to challenge people. I go to a big youth service called cords once a month and that has speakers who are very challenging and biblically correct. I tell you what, I am very priveleged to be with these kindsa people. A church not far from here has a a vicar who's dodgy with boys and another church as a vicar who doesn't believe in God and insists on putting really rubbish quotes up outside his church. Anyway, back to the point, I can see exactly where you're coming from and I think it's sad that that's happened.

And you and Avarice... together? sounds like a worse threat to national security than most terrorist ogranisations could think up.

Hello Joe,

I know how busy you are but hope you could provide some help for a struggling musician like me.

I can't afford to buy your tutorials because of the economic situation in the Philippines.

My only wish is to have a tablature of your song crushin day, which is a big favorite of mine :) I tried looking on the net but some have wrong notes on it.

my email add is allanex@digosnet.com

Thanks - allanex1

Clarky:

Just to let you know I totally agree with your views on religion. I was brought up RC, & lapsed, like many people. A few years ago I "defected" to C of E thinking I would find a more enlightened bunch. I was invited to join the worship group, and played lead guitar in the church for nearly three years. When I was introduced to Buddhism, my vicar made me choose, with no compromise, telling me that Buddhism was "devil worship"!!! So I was "expelled" from the worship group ( after being told that you couldn't practice Buddhism and be a "leader of Christian worship".).... What a pity church people are so narrow minded!

(I was also expelled from my school choir when I was 14 for encouraging a group of friends & me to sing an "alternative" version of Handel's Messiah.........at the same time as the main choir.....but I guess that was warranted!!...)

All religions are built around the words or actions of one individual, who has acheived enlightenment...usually by rejecting the creed of the day, and found their own way to"God". Religions are all man-made institutions geared to a particular culture & time in history, designed to help the individual find their way...but unfortunately most become corrupt somewhere along the line. The Vatican being among the most wealthy intitutions on earth.......etc, etc.

As far as I know, Buddhists have never started any wars..(but I may be wrong.)

hey Joe

I mit the greatest girl in the world we went out last night. I told I played guitar for six years and out of the blue she said have you ever heard of Joe Satriani (you). I said yes but that was after I picked my jaw up from the ground. I told her I can play some of your songs so to show here we went into the guitar store the boss said something like we close in two min so I hucked up a guitar and started to play always with you always with me. She sreamed I love that song. but thats all of the night I'm going to talk about. got to go practice time Jon S.

/\/\ike: As the first paying customer you're going to get something a little special ;-) It might take me until Friday or so to get it in the post though... sorry for the delay! And thanks again for the plugs!!!

MarkusMack: I was a little harsh, and I apologise for that, but no I'm not any kind of super-anything - far from it!!!!!!! Maybe a super-a-hole at times though ;-)

Martina: The dominant is the fifth note of the major scale... it's all part of the mediant, leading-note, supertonic stuff... hope that helps you a little :-)

Happy Monday to y'all! Later, Dave
