death cube K: You did it bro'!! You found a way to get info on Caparison guitar's, lol, I'll check it out!!!!
smithers: I listened to the EJ samples.....Some good stuff in there, but hmmmm....don't expect "Cliff's of Dover" type stuff..
There's a mix bag there and some beautiful Acoustic stuff...... When I read the article on his site, it sounded like he got the idea from VAI, lol....
Clarky: lol bro' 16 mins. long!! Congratulation's on getting it done, I'm sure it's heavy!! Let us know when you get it recorded!! BTW, thank's for the homework!! ;-)
Phry Dom: No apologies needed dude :-)....She is in good care, my wife is real busy, and I'm taking care of the kid's, lol, I'm off till Sunday and hopefully she is at the University by then, and I'll feel more at ease....
2003....WOW!!

ovation1 - Actually, EJ came up with the idea of putting the CD together because a lot of people (myself included) on his official mailing list (see his website for details) kept bugging him about releasing some of his unreleased stuff...LOL. I find it kinda cool, actually. ;-) But I'm sure the fact that Steve Vai's box set was a success had something to do with it as well. It showed that there is a market for rare stuff like that.

It is Stu not Boo: I'm on the mailing list too, and I know it's a painfully slow process for Eric to get everything right before he releases a new album....He's a perfectionist to say the least, and this sound's like a great idea to fill in the gap's between his long awaited releases....There is some strange sounding clips on there, lol, some of it sounded experimental, kinda' Hendrix'y, lol....I wish Eric had the big capital ($$) that
alot of other artist's have as he's been around a looong time, and should get more exposure than he get's....Besides the G3, lol....

Is it too late to be asking you Joe if you are working on new material yet? I also was wondering why slick and the eight steps was not included on the SBM album? I feel violated that we are deprived of some of your songs. Can you give us any reason why those songs were included on the Japanese release but not on the one in the good ole USA?

Happy new year to Joe, Rubina, ZZ and all at Satriani.com.
Im thinking of kitting myself out for 2003. Im looking to buy the same effects set up as Joe's.
I understand he uses a BOSS DS1-DISTORTION PEDAL. ORIGINAL CRY-BABY -WAH WAH PEDAL. BOSS DD3-DELAY PEDAL. BOSS SUPER CHORUS and a DIGETECH WHAMMY PEDAL.
He also uses a pedal that sounds very bluesy and Hendrixy. Could any of you guys tell me what it's called.?
Is joe and steve planning another G3 tour.If so who are they teaming up with?

Mike Smith: that pedal is a Fulltone Ultimate Octave. Joe also has a second Boss delay, a Digitech harmonser and a Chandler digital delay (or maybe two of them, I can't remember). Hope this helps! Dave

mr nick - sweet haircut for jordan rudess! I'm not sure if it actually suits him as much as the chop suited satch... maybe it's all the stubble. So Petrucci lost a load of hair last year (or was it the year before), now Rudess has, who's having the chop in 2004. Vote now
THE BIG CHOP DEBATE
Which DT member will lose his hair next????
a) James LaBrie
b) John Myung
Betting Starts.... now!

Well, what can I say. august 16 2002 we went to the satriani concert
and man was it amazing! King's X was ok..(never really been a big
fan of them). Now dream theater was a whole other ball o' wax.
Those guys are tight in their rythyms and musicianship. They
played a lot of great stuff. Satriani came on stage after DT and
played a really great set. We had great seats. The best part was
after the show. I went around back behind the Nextstage and
waited around outside a huge chain link fence. The buses for
Satriani and Dream Theater were right inside. There were only a
few People back there with me. After a while Joe and the band
came out of the building and we started yelling "Joe!" Joe came
over with drummer Jeff Campetelli and backup guitarist Galen
Hansen. they talked to us for a while and gladly signed all
autographs we wanted them to. Joe and the gangs graciously
spoke with us and chatted about the show and life in general, all
the while posing for pictures. I was probably 1 of 7 people there,
and seemed to be the oldest fan there. The other six were
younger teens that were too star struck to really talk. Then I did
something that i never thought I would ever have the nerve or the
chance to ever do. I gave Joe Satriani a cd with four of my songs
on it. I told him that "this wasnt to say , look at me! i can play." I let
him know that I was giving this cd to him becuase for years I have
been moved and inspired by his music in awesome and
profoundly unspeakable ways. I told him that I just wanted to
return the gift of inspiration. Even if it only brings a simple smile or
a pleasant thought it was way worth it. Just the chance that Joe
might even listen to it and hear me play is enough to completely
thrill me and freak me out at the same time. Honestly I had second
thoughts about giving him the cd becuase...I mean c'mon he is
one of histories greatest guitar players. He is Joe Satriani. But, I
knew I may never have this chance ever again. Now I do not have
to live with regret. Becuase I know that I gave the cd to him and
whether he listens to it or not, I know that I might possibly have
had an slight impact or an breif fleeting audience with the great
Joe Satriani.

theduke - try getting in contact with www.universaljems.com
these guys do custom guitar stuff and may be able to chrome your JS1000
rough dog - I'll do the first one for you.
The bottom line indicates the key. 'Aharm' = A harmonic minor. This means that A melodic minor is also available.
-- I --------- VI ----- IV --------- I ---- (V7) -- I
¦ Em ‘ ‘ ‘ ¦ C ‘ ‘ ‘ ¦ Am ‘ ‘ ‘ ¦ Em ‘ E7 ‘ ¦ Am ‘ ‘ ‘ ¦
Em--------------------------------------> Aharm-Am
t1mer1der - I guess someone has to be the best.... do you have a belt, trophy or medal to show how you became the best??? lol lol
ovation - The Baptist is in three movements at around 5 minutes each.... this track will be my undoing live I bet..... I've decided not to use the 7-string for the riffs on this one. I'm going to use a 6-string dropped to C# but with the 6th string down to B - so this'll be like playing a 'classical drop D' tuning but with the whole guitar tuned down 1 1/2 steps..... This is a popular tuning with the real sophisticates of the rock world such as Slipknot... etc...
When I finally put a band together my rhythm guitatist will need to be pretty handy and he'll need a pile of guitars.
"Zo Herr Klarch... get your Englander ass back to zer studio and make vit zer riffs"
