Good on you, LGU89.
On a lighter note, EVERYONE TRY THIS FEED THE PIG GAME! IT'S HILARIOUS! You have to feed the pig until it explodes, in as fast a time as possible. Beware of feeding it toxic foods like old boots though, or else it will sick up, and all your efforts will be wasted!

Everyone: I may be out of line here but political discussions on this page always turn out badly. There are simply too many people from too many places that post here and offending someone is inevitable. So, before it gets nasty, which it will, why don't we talk about the obvious: How much Joe rules!

Clarky: remind me to not let you name my kids!
Why don't you ask Joe to play the 7 string rhythm...I'm sure he's got heaps of time up his sleeve...he'd be out to UK to play in one of his fan's bands like a shot...
R6R: Paddington Bear can have my marmelade...I just don't see the attraction...
NO POLITICS PLEASE!!! You know what always happens...
(Fawlty) "...and don't mention the war!" "Ah, wonderful - wunderbar..."
I just thought that seemed appropriate.
Later BEN...PS do you think I should put a few more blank lines in there? It seems a bit cluttered up...

Ok i was going to keep quiet about this rarther 'sensitive' subject but i feel quite strongly about this and i do think we should seriously kick some saddam-ass. We've all been pussy footing around him for so long while hes been fiddling away in god knows where making all sorts of weapons. I think its fairly obvious that he would definately use them on us if he was given half the chance (for crying out loud hes even used them on his own people) I think its about time we got rid of him for good, Now im only 14 and by far no expert on this subject but i just thought it right to have my say.
..........Joe Rules..........
Edit Eeep! Just read other posts thats were posted while typing this post and yes lets not dwell on this subject :D

Clarky --- Thanks for your help!! But i think i wasn't too clear cos the question i asked is what you posted. You said to use dominant chords from A7 and Em to get back to A major. That's what i couldn't understand. But it's all clear now after what you replied.
Narface --- how did you get info on the NAMM stuff? I got some new online at the Ibanez website but nothing much.
Stu not BOO --- Are those Guitar Pro MIDI backing tracks any good? or do they sound horrible?

Clarky - When you say that you drop the guitar down to B do you mean the whole guitar of just the bottom E (or B in this case)? The way I create de-tuned riifs on a standard tuned guitar is using inverted 5ths (or 4ths as they should be called). Its works especially well when playing with a bassist as they play the root and you play the rest of the chord so you end up with a really fat sounding chord that sounds like its played on a 7-string guitar. Take a look at what I mean:
--------------------------
--------------------------
----9--------------------- Standard E5 chord
----9--------------------- in standard tuning
----7---------------------
----0---------------------
To create the 7-string effect:
---------------------------
---------------------------
----5---------------------- Standard C5 chord
----5---------------------- with G being the
----3---------------------- lowest note.
----3----------------------
The bass player then plays the C note which would be under the G played by the guitarist. This is what creates the 7-string effect on a standard 6-string guitar tuned to concert pitch. It sounds even better if the bassist uses a 5-string so he can play another C note an octave under the one he is already playing as below:
---------------------------g string
---------------------------d string
----3---------------------a string
---------------------------e string
----1---------------------b string
Try it out (assuming you already haven't) its cool!!!

Hey all, especially you Joe!!! Just want to say hi, and a message for you Joe, I hope you read it amidst all your ongoing ingenius songwriting.
I just wanted to say that your music has completely changed my life. I had heard nothing of you until a friend of mine (namely Apple_NdiB, a member here himself) introduced me to your wonderful music in early 2002. Since then your music has been a light to me in dark times, and a door to freedom when I needed to escape. I have been playing guitar since my 14th birthday (I'll be 17 this coming August) and since that fated day back in early '02 you've been the greatest influence to my playing. After only a year of knowing about you, and at the ripe young age of 16, I can already play through one of my favourite songs of yours, 'Friends'. Impressive, no?!?! haha, I don't like to blow my own trumpet..... :-)
Joe Satriani, I salute you. The greatest guitarist that ever lived.
P.S - Will you play at my funeral?

gruskada, OMG! can you imagine those things flying down the hills of San Francisco! lmao!! The carnage! lol! They might be helpful going UP the hills, but man, going down...better pad up and get a mouth guard & helmet! LOL!! They look like so much fun. I would love to have one to zip around on. Hell, the kids can't even ride skateboards on the sidewalks here, so they'd prolly be outlawed pdq.
HEY JOE, I was watching The Who - Live at the Isle of Wight Fest. 1970 on dvd today. Man, what a great band. Anyways, I get such a kick out of watching Keith Moon play. Next time you guys practice, tell Jeff to do his best K. Moon impersonation and you'll be guaranteed a good laugh. You can do the windmills...but please, don't smash anything :)

Ok I need help..... I want to get a new, cool guitar cd and would like to know some recommendations. So it would be awesome if some of you could put your top three cds down for guitar, limiting them to one per band or player (so not all Satch cds, or Hendrix, or Vai...). And Joe, if you read this could you put your top three favorite cds down?
Appreciate it.... mick

Joe- I think u should do a guitar clinic in Canada or the U.S. I would NOT miss that! And I'm sure MANYother people think the same way! For your play list dilema I think u should play more stuff from "Not Of This Earth", "Time Machine" and some more "Crystal Planet" tracks like- "A train of Angles"or "Secret Prayer". I also was wondering who's going to be on this years G3? I would really like to know!
Mick87- My top 3 with Joe and Steve would be.....1) Joe-Crystal Planet 2) Steve-Passion and Warfare 3)Yngwie Malmsteen- Concerto suite for electric guitar
Without- 1) Frank Gambale- Comming to your Sences 2) Dream Theater- Live Scenes from NY 3) Yngwie Malmsteen- Fire and Ice
