Thanks for the autographed CD and concert t-shirt, Joe! Just got it this morning. This was the first thing of any significance that I won in my life. I'm thinking it would look pretty cool in a shadowbox frame in my guitar studio.

Joe (or anyone who knows) - Is the full version of Slick available anywhere to download or buy? I'd like to hear the whole song so I know what you mean by it needing another solo at the end....

Wow, i'm gonna have to log in more, it took me over an hour to read all the new posts.
Lord of the Rings Yeah that movie is great. The ents rocked. I really disliked Faramir being portrayed as evil and Frodo and Sam being dragged to Osgiliath... i think they need to stick closer to the book. I was extremely mad at having to wait another year to see Shelob when she was supposed to be in TTT!!!! Gollum was awesome though, "MURDERER!!!"... "Nope, not listening..."
Picks and Strings I use 1.0 mm picks and 10-46 Ernie Ball Strings. How in the world could you use a 3.0 mm? I didnt even know they made those...

I'm suprised how many guitar players there are in this fan club. Its great i'm only 15 and i'm better than most 18 yr olds i know. There into there boring nu metal songs. I personally like some metal but nu metal HOW BORING IS IT. anyway it is good to see that there are a lot of other guitarists. I just want to say Keep coming with those melodys joe they r awsome. Also is there a strange beutifal music tab book or is there one coming. Also is there a flying in a blue dream tab book.

ovation - the thing that made me decide to re-write it was knowing that I'd end up 'settling for it'. It was worth the extra effort... If I'd have left it I know I'd have regreted it in the long run.
the cover will be something like an Ibanez headstock emerging through the face of the Mona Lisa.... it won't hurt her though.. she's about as ugly as a box of frogs... lol
Nick - ok I see where you are coming from.... but this problem has always existed... years ago 'serious' musicians looked at the Stones and the Beatles with contempt [and looked at their bank accounts with envy]... no change there.... it's ok too... I like listening to stuff like Slipknot as much as I enjoy Vai, Bach, George Benson and Bob Marley.... I problem I find with folks that want to play like Satch and Vai is that they neglect their rhythm playing and chord vocabulary.....
r6r - my picks are like my brain - big and purple and very thick... lol
the decision to re-record was not based around the mix... I had this odd fealing about it.. something just didn't quite 'sit' quite right in there.... it was a 'notes' and 'orchestration' thing..
Yoda - I heard of them but not heard any of their music...

I think that some folks in here that are knocking the Nu-Metal guys are making a mistake.... there is more to their playing than meets the eye... for starters - these guys have great timing and some of them are very precise... a song don't have to have a solo to be good...
Broaden your horizons a little.. there is a lot to be learned from many styles of music that has nothing to do with shredding.. but it all contributes to your 'completeness' as a player.... funk... nu-metal... = timing, tightness, vibe and groove..

Kinda of funny,because Backwards stuff is so often associated with the devil.Id like to play that for a bible thumper,see if they condemn it "Devil Music",lol.

Yeah, but some of it gets a bit repetitive! (But then again, some progressive DT type stuff gets a bit long.) There are, of course, some NM bands which are better than others. (system of a down seem ok)
