962 - just finished readin ur novel on ur thoughts about this EJ issue goin on lol j;k ... ya man i have to agree with you. i never believed vai butchered his song. it's just somethin i heard and had to find out more. and i had no idea about the tinitus thing, and i can understand now about how he needs them cause of his style and stuff like that. also i shouldn't talk about stage presence cause i'm actually worse than EJ when he played at G3... i dunno why.. i'm just like a statue when i play. but maybe does have somethin to do with this classical piano stuff. cause well i'm 17 now, i started classical piano lessons when i was 4, so i've been playin for like 13 years now... and guitar i picked up at 11... so maybe my 'statue-ness' has somethin to do with the classical piano thing... hmmm

No, It wasn't that Eric was on a different label or anything like that, the live record was more of an after-the-fact thing anyways.Eric wasn't comfortable, and that's pretty much it.He really likes to be in charge of his sound, and being that there were three performers to worry about every night, I am sure he didn't have total control over all of the sound variables, so that is one of the things that contributed to his awkwardness.

I saw him by himself about 2 years ago, and he was very active on stage.I just don't think he was comfortable in that situation.

Dear Mr Joe Satriani, My name is Sam. I live in Denver, Colorado. I hope you remember me. I attended many shows of yours when you came to Colorado. We meet 5 times after the show. I always right in the row of every show that you came to Denver. I finally took a picture with you after the show at your latest came to Denver. I'm so happy and I know this is my happiest "Moment" that I ever have in my hold life. I was so happy when you said: "It's good to see you" :) Thanks so much for taking time and taking picture with me. Be honest, You're my Idol. and I know is forever. Even I live and die I know for sure I'm always yours. I played the guitar when I was 10 years old. I'll be 35 in Febuary on the date of 18. I've been practice (only) your music for 10 years. I listen to your music every single day. every album and carefully listen to every note that you play. I have a Rain_forrest (Autograh by you) and a Chrome-Boy guitar. I play the Chrome-Boy is the most. Last 5 years ago, I practice your music everyday, 12 to 16 hours a day included weekends. I was indeed with your music. I had so many and many dream about you, that I saw you , talked to you and play the guitar together and you tech me alot and alot...There's a time after your show when you meet you gave me Bill Grant address and said: I'll listen to it when you send your demo. But I never ready cause my expectation is too high. But my biggest dream is to able to play a song or two for you. I only know how to play your music. I know that I'm always ready for you to play for you to listen. Sorry that I didn't meant anything like show up or anything like that. Please dont gove me worng. But to be honest with you, I get to the feeling that pretty close...with tone (trying to :))I always try my very best everytime that I practice your music. Joe, Is that anyway that I have a chance to play for you to listen? is there any chance? some how? Thats my biggest drem right now. You're the one that keeps me alive and feel alive and never want to give up. You gave me the highest and the most Energy to practice more and forget all the sad things in the world. I feel like there's only my soul and your music. your music bring my soul go along to the brightness in the future. to the Heaven of Peace. Thanks God for you that you're here to save alot of souls that they got lost in the middle of nowhere, like me, I'm disability...have to walk with my clutchs. But I'll never give up of what my dream is....Hopefully someday before I die I would be able to bring my dream alive, to serve and share the Art of music for all around the world atlease a once. I promise you that I'll try my very very best to get to the goal that I ever wanted. so please give me a chance if you could. To let me play for you so you can tell me what I need to work on. where my mistake is. I promise I'll work on my problem to get it through. I love the way your write the form of the nature feeling. I play because love and respect. Hope you will read this email someday. God bless you. Thank you for the world that you're our Hero of this century to be here to share the Beauty of the Music of Art. Thank you Joe! Please, please email me if you can. I'll be wait for this till the day as long as I'm alive... Your biggest fans... Sam Tran

TRUTINA i dont get it dude, first you say sammy era was more diverse lyrically then you say u dont care u want instrumentals.... confused.

dave is the shit man, sammy is poodle hair journey-signing-sappy-love-songs-helping-lead-one of worlds greatest guitarists-into-lame-pop-land-holding-guitar-not playing it just like vince neil- type of singer. cant stand him or his crappy lyrics, he can go sing "OH BABY WE BELONG IN A WORLD THAT MUST BE STRONG OHH THAT'S WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF" to guys wearing leotards at the downtown gym while he's there working off that tequila tire he has goin....

Halen is dead.

btw - fav movie is a tie between fargo and fight club...

circles - man that message to joe is really touching... i find it so amazing how one guy (Joe) can have such a big impact on peoples lives. he has a huge impact on mine. every single day i listen to joe's music and try and play it. and i've improved my guitar skills so much because of him. i wish u the best of luck with you're dream. i hope it comes true for you.

Joe - i have a dream too... and that's to go to one of you're shows (front row center) and be able to meet you after and take a pic together and sign my guitar (which will be the JS1000, hopefully i'll get it soon)... so next time u perform in toronto i'll do everything in my power to be there, and hopefully my dream will come true.

Ya- yo- First thing: Good taste in movies.

2nd thing, DLR sucked in every way possible.

Yes, Sammy may have had some lyrical missteps, but DLR wrote lyrics like a 3rd grade poetry contest.Simply terrible.Top that off with the fact that he was a horrible singer(they HAD to tune to Eb to deal with his lack of singing ability), and a lame human being.

He also would only record one line at a time when they recorded all those old Van Halen albums.Weird, if you ask me.

Sammy was a far bettter singer.Fuck, DLR isn't even a singer in comparison. And btw, Sammy DID play the guitar, but only at live shows. No reason for another guitarist on a VH album, no?

Sammy brought life to that band.I still think 5150 is the best thing they ever did.Eddie was better and more creative on that then anything else, I think.

On "Good enough" he had a bass string on his guitar, tuned to A!That was what, 8 years before Korn?

Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.Think what you like :D

I have an autographed copy of the "Not Of This Earth" LP (US pressing, first release, with the original artwork). This was signed by Joe in 1988 when he toured Australia with Mick Jagger.

I can't find much information regarding the value of this record anywhere on the Net. I did notice that some sites mention that the original arwork was lost. I know that is incorrect, Joe personally told me that the artwork was destroyed in a fire - he mentioned this immediately when he saw the cover of the copy I handed him for signing.

Anyway (stop babbling) - although I don't intend to sell it, I still wonder about its $ value. I would assume that their weren't too many copies made in the first pressing.

I also have a copy of SWTA that is also signed (on the cover and inner sleeve) - so I guess I want to know what that is worth too.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone. The Yardbirds finally have an official website up. Go to http://www.theyardbirds.com/ to check it out. There's a intro that uses part of Vai's version of Shapes Of Things, from t heir upcoming album.

I like all three eras of VH. DLR stuff seemed to be more relaxed and "fun", while SH stuff seemed to be more like structured songs. And I absolutely love VH III with Gary Cherone, even though most people can't stand that album.

The Nose of Sauron - My favorite movie is probably Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

js10chromer - Joe had three chromeboys. He used to take two of them out on the road, but one was stolen last year. And yes, the white JS1000 has been discontinued.
TragiCore - Look in the "Archive Vault" section of the site.

Hey Joe, just saw the show in reno. great job, man you had the place rockin'. Just one question, you took Big Bad Moon off the list? That was the one song I really enjoy hearing you play, plus judging from alot of the remarks I heard going out so did alot of other people. Please next time you swing through reno can you keep it in the line up. Aside from that the show was first rate. One I was glad to see and enjoy. thanks for the show
