Hey Joe!
YOU are the BEST!
I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction to
obtain that "chainsaw" sound you use in "Time". I love that
sound and gotta have it! Thanks for all your inspiration! I am
a drummer of thirty plus years and now a budding guitar player!
"Thanks man"

I have some excellent photos of Mr. Satriani from the 6 Feb 03 show in Tucson at the Rialto Theatre. Is there some address to which I may email them for consideration to post on the web site?

Hey Joe,
My name is Patrick Sexton and im 15 years old and i live in Concord, CA. I just went to your concert on Feb 01, 2003 at the Fillmore in San Francisco and i had the greatest time i've ever had in my life. i was directly in the middle in the front row. Im the bald one that you let hit your Wammy Bar and the one that let Matt play with my phone with the flames on it. He really liked my phone. I got to the Fillmore at about 2:30AM, because i had to be the first one in line because i just love your music and i want to be just like you when i grow. it's amazing I've been playing guitar for 1 year and i know kids who have been playing for 3 years, who are my age, and they want me to give them guitar lessons, and im just like WOW am i really that good. The guitar that i have is a PRS CE24, which was a lot, and i also have a 250 watt Marshall 1/2 stack. But i really want your Ibanez Joe Satriani, Chrome Guitar, that's an awesome guitar. But i don't think they even sell Chrome guitars so hopefully they will soon. Well the reason i was sending you this message is because your concert was probably thing that's ever happened to me and i just want you to know that you've have changed my life. Not only did you make me want to be a better guitar player but most of all a better person. That night at the Fillmore on Feb 1st im never gonna forget because it was the greatest time of my life and it was all because of you, Joe Satriani. Thank you for everything, letting me hit yout wammy bar giving me your pick and just putting the biggest smile on my face. Your the Greatest.
From the bottom of my heart. Thank you Joe Satriani.
Your Friend,
Patrick James Sexton
I know that your probably always busy but maybe you could e-mail me back or something like that at: SatrianiAndVai@AOL.com
Thank you again Very Much.

new song... I was just interested if anyone wanted to hear a new tune we did...it's a rough mix, and i added a bit too much compression to it, so it swells! Also, stu cloen wrote the bass part, but I ended up playing iwth my js and an octave pedal on this recording! Let me know what ya think of it! Flight Of Mind Thanks guys!
PS -- feedback is MOST welcome!

Ugh... The guy in the dorm room next to me bought an electric guitar over winter break. He's playing it a lot, which is really cool...but he keeps playing THE SAME THING over and over and over. If I hear Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit one more time...ugh. ;-)
crispin / Stu Clone - I just sent the chat.

Matt: New tune sounds great, man. Keep 'em comin. That's good news about Stu Clone joining up with ya. How's the transcontinental band gonna work out?
I also have a couple new tunes that I did tonight. The first one, "The Introduction of Amy and Leslie", is an old time blues lick that I did with my Les Paul (Leslie) and my Strat (Amy). Just goofing around with it and figured why not throw it out there. The second song, "Slate Run Bandit" was a lot more fun to do. Stole some of my previous ideas and they just kinda manifested into this so go check 'em out!

matt- sure i've heard that one before :) It sounds better with you doing the bass due to the better mixing you could do. A lot tidier now, sounding superb. COME TO ENGLAND! ;) Stu Clone- I did love your bass work, i'm just talking from the recording point of view.
Joe! Hello! Rock on!

ovation - Angra: very good call.... during the softer moments the vocals sound so much like DT that it's quite spooky.. There's a nice variety of influencies I can hear in there... Maiden, Malmsteen, Journey, DT, Genesis [mid 70's], PFM and some touches of the local Brazilian vibes [latin].. good mix.. the drunner and bassist are pretty monsterous too....
Oki Doki on the Oki trad... Moshi Gerri Jo-dan
r6r - your story is just like the "Nugent playing through Van Halens rig" story.... this is the thing I try, and often fail, to get people to understand when attempting to answer the ubiquitous "Joe, how do you set your knobs up on your stomp boxes?"... To be brutally honest... what Joe does with his knobs is between him and his girlie... and 'knobS' as in plural.. that sort of thing should be confined to the circus... either way.. my stock answer is something along the lines of "if you had every last item of kit down to the last jack lead exactly the same as Joe and all of the settings where totally idendicle, you'd sound exactly like you".... what a waste of time and effort....
time is much better spent learning play and writing music
Yoda - I stand corrected... you're right it was David St Hubbins... pedant.... lol lol lol
Kell - and there speaks the voice of reason... I think the JEM7V is a lovely guitar.. I know it's a Vai sig. If they made them leftie I'd play them but they don't so I'm confined to RG470's... My problem is the other way around... my ideal guitar set up would have been 2 JEM7V's and 2 UV7's [I need 2 of each for live work]... The money is not the problem, the problem is being a mutant left handed spastic..so even if I had a big pile of cash sitting in front of me now, I still couldn't get them...
Stoo - no charge....... lol

r6rocker: Missed ya' dude, lol, next time.... ;-)
matt king: Took a quick listen....Nice and catchy dude, it really sound's alot more professional with STU Clone on bass (no offense to your COE Bassist), you guy's meld together well....
Clarky: lol dude, Angra have many Album's out, and I was surprised at how many times they've changed Band Members!
Yeah, the Bass and Drum's are monsterous......I am really impressed with the "band" as a group...Each part of it makes the whole....A great team effort by those guy's, lol....They are definately World Series Champ's in my book!!.... BTW, I think you'll find some inspiration from the local music here, lol....
I went to my fave shop today, and they told me the RG3271 will be released this month....Flame Maple/Mahogany Top/
Body, 3pc. Maple Neck (Rosewood board), Fixed Bridge, PP, Blue Velvet, PP Config., Violet Chrome Hdwre., Deep Black....
And all yours for only $1,550 or so $$....
Nite all, /\/\ike

Stu not boo Thanks for the chat transcript. I got it fine.
r6rocker Every time I try to enter the chat, I'm told I don't have java virtual machine. I try to download it, but am told that windows won't let me, so I need to get xp service pack 1. I just got it, but I don't think it imstalled properly, because it didn't like my product key or something like that. I now sometimes get told that java is not up to date on my computer. So, thanks to obvious genius of Bill Gates, I can't get in the chatroom.

I kill him if he gets rid of it! Even his girlfriend won't let him let it go! U c he trying to think of a quick way to get some money but I don't think he should be that drastic. So he starting to do ecustic nights which means hopefully he won't sell it. sorry I had to get that off my chest.!!!! Hope your having fun.
