Extremist-I almost wanted to say something like that but i called my therapist and she calmed me down. LOL J/k I knew that if I said it, it would start something with the Russians, then they'd start making a bomb pointed towards my house. Kidding again.
Stu Clone-Who said anything about virgin? NO!!! JUST KIDDING! I don't care about minor words like damn. Just words like F***.

So that's what it's like to play rock star?!?! What an incredible evening, not to mention BAR NONE the best time I've ever had playing onstage. I'm speechless, so thanks to all T2J-ers who came out last night, despite the rain, to catch my set at 4th & B.

JOE - I would have never imagined in a million years how a simple encounter involving you, a HUMMER limo, and good parking could result in picking up my first sponsor... a limo company!!! As fate would have it, we had the HUMMER too boot for last night's gig. Too funny.

Its Stu Not Boo,

Hey Stu - Thanks for noticing.

You think any of those old original lessons would be worth some cash? Not that I want to part with the originals, but wouldn't mind makin a few extra bucks. Always in need of some more new equipment.

You got any advise on drum machines? I've got a Fostex 280 4 track recording device I'd like to some day use, and I need some sort of percussion (obviously), as I haven't found any good drummers locally (who play anything but Country).

Let me know.

Brgds,

Hugh

JellyMan the V-Amp2 is the dog's danglies! I've got some great sounds from it, but I strongly recommend you get the MIDI link to your computer, and also check out the online places where you can get sounds.... HTH!

r6r, is that what happened to Joe Meek?!?! Blimey! But Les Paul is the father of multitrack recording you southern wuss!!!!! ;-) :-P

Sharon, yep, I'm still looking after pooches... daycare, sleepovers, walks, etc. I only walk up to four at a time, but I think over half term there're 10 in the house for a coupla days.... I must be mad!!!!! Walking that lot in shifts is gonna take all day!!!!!

Berkeley Boy you told such a good story, but IMHO you spoiled it big time with your second post

Later, Dave

Matt: Celestial love song sounds great! I love the shore fx to open it, and the melodies are real nice. The only thing I don't like os that maybe the lead tone has a little too much grit, but it's nothing major. I like the fact that as a guitarist you try to serve the song. That's kind of the same thing I try to do also. For me, songs kind of determine what needs to be played over them, and sometimes it's not the most technical stuff, but the beautiful melodic stuff that is needed. Good job, I'll definitely buy a cd off of you when you get it all together. Later.

MATT KING - Celestial Love Song could be a Joe`song :)), nice tone, sweet melodie and you play very nice. Good composition. I just don`t like the sound of drums, what program you use for this music? Good work and great song for a Joe Satriani fan :). Take care and GO FOR IT! Alex

OCPS470 - There are some amazing players around here, I mean amazing players. I lots of water but I still suck so it must be something else.

Trutina - I thought about entering. I don't have 4 or 5 songs I can play and put them on tape and send them. I'd probably like to play Hordes of Locusts but, I never learn to play songs unless i'm playing them live. *ssssiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggggh*

Stu Clone & kell

Glad you enjoyed the story. I tried to make it short and sweet and was hoping Joe might actually read it. But probably not gonna happen. I just signed on to the Interactive web-site, so didn't really know if I could actually get Joe's attention!

I'd probably freeze up if I ever got the oportunity to play with Joe again.

He was actually incredible way back when. Not a lot of extremely fast finger rollin' and tapping up and down the entire fret board like he does now, but really solid riffs. Just a complete player then. He once told me he went into a studio to do a recording for some ad, and he was screwin' around warming up when the producer came out and Joe asked him when he wanted him to start playing for real. The producer told him he was done recording!! Can you believe it. Joe, just warming up was good enough! I think he was about 24 then and playing in POP bands in Berkely. That was the Greg Kihn era in the Bay Area, but it's been the Joe Era ever since! I guess the producer knew he had something special. I wish I would have not been such a stupid kid, and gone off to do something else. Damn me! Well I guess I was luckier than a lot of guitarists.

Be good and keep on pickin'

Berkeley Boy
