Hey, does anyone know of any companies that make a one by twelve closed back cab that can handle 100 watts? I already have a Vai Legacy 4x12 to go with my pod pro, but I'm trying to get the 1x12 so I don't have to use my crappy fender solid state amp when I don't want to cart around my real rig.

OCP - I never knew you did a commercial for Universal. 11 years of piano, that's why you're so good.

Yeah, I did one international Universal commercial, and one locally for Mardi Gras. Yeah I had 11 years of piano lessons and have been playing for about 14 years now. As far as guitar, I wouldn't say I'm so good. I was having my guitar lesson today, and we have been bench marking my right hand. I've hit a wall at 230 bpm doing eighth notes. I'm working real hard to not have to use an addapted tremelo picking routine to play stuff twice as fast. Well, at least my left hand legato is blazingly fast.

AJenssen - I didn't even notice your typo. ;-) The Live In SF show was really cool. I was there for both nights at The Fillmore back in 2000 and had a blast.

aftertran - I hope the surgery goes well.
JS Clone 1 - Look through the recent Asia pics (the pics in the drop-down menu, not the ones on the road page). It's in there somewhere.

MATTKING: i never spect to read an answer as good as that you wrote me. I honestly trust in what you said. At the begining i was "hooked" into Satch music, and still i am. That "Satchy" style of you its getting on a very higher level everytime you play something new. Today i showed your song to a guitarist friend of mine, and i told him that this song was "The eight steps" and he TOTALLY BELIEBE IT!! I man.., Matt, your playing its almost exactly as Satch, your choice of notes are almost the same as him!! I was listening to the solo section and i realize that you used some Satch licks-cliches on that part.....that gave me a crazzzzy idea...I really HATE the Joe solo on "Oriental Melody", the worst Satch solo EVER!!! Try and play a new solo over that spot and upload it please...i mean, if you have the time....Anyway, i hope you the best and CoE the same. Iy you can, give a listen to www.marcelcoenen.com "Inner Alchemmy" song and tell me what you think....Ther same for everybody around....this was the best last year song for me... Keep together and dont let anything corrupts your friendship.

By the way, heres a direct link to the song, its a video of him playing the song, it worth every second!!

http://users.skynet.be/bs223245/inner.rm

(somebody make the video "clickable" please!!) --------------------------------------------------------------------------

OCPS470 I will D/L your song tomorrow pal and i will give you feedback when i finish to hear them. By the way, im not a "newby" around my friend.....im one of the pioneers-old-members of this web page. I just went on a vacation tour to the prog-rock side of me to the "DreamTheater" world and decided to live there on the www.johnpetrucci.com city....But the best place to live its here, on Satch´s realm....

Does anone know if Joe ever did a song called "Heart of the Sun"? I found a very calm and passionate song online while I was downloading stuff. The song is exactly 3 minutes long, and it has some nice soloing (sounds like Joe to me), and an overall mellow tone to it. Can anyone confirm who it is by? I apreciate it. Thanks everyone.

DainBramage - Hi. I love your username...LOL. Yes, that song is Joe. It is NOT called "Heart Of The Sun", however. The track was recorded for a guitar magazine a few years ago, and was untitled. A picture in the accompanying article had a caption along the lines of "Joe sets the controls for the heart of the sun", which was a reference to a Pink Floyd song. Someone misinterpreted that as the title of Joe's song and listed it that way on Napster / Kazaa / etc...and now it's spread everywhere.

Does that make sense?

JS Clone 1, Yeah, Matt sent me the song, and that's pretty much the line I ended up writing (I'm pretty happy with it considering I only spent about half an hour to listen and then record!)

Matt and I went through a few different takes, and we settled on the one that you're hearing Matt play through his JS an octave down, just to give us a sort of guide to go by once we start doing final mixes...

There's also a couple of others that Matt and I have been trading back and forth: we're both real excited to hear what the other will come up with... : )

olly --- I own both a taiwanese made and Japanese made DS-1 (yes i'm crazy) and there is a difference.

the jap DS-1 seems to have a warmer sound and gives a more ballsy saturated tone. The taiwanese made DS-1 has a a harsher sound and is brighter IMO.

You can probably find a jap DS-1 on ebay with not much difficulty.

kell - actually my mature, understanding and sensitive approach to this problem is a decoy... 'cos if I have to fly to Florida to straighten this out... it will be reported in the national press as a mass extinction event... lol...lol...

death cube - oh the luxury of choice... lol
woman always say "in the next life I'll come back as a man".... I'd gladly come back a right hander...
Nick - That Summer Song map of key changes has been 'rounded down' to the lowest common denominator... there are a few more changes that are very momentary.. they last only for a single lick within a larger solo... if I was to go down to that level of granularity then I may as well have scored the whole thing out... so I generalised section by section.... however, if you freestyle using that map it'll work fine.... this is the essence behind pitch axis... playing a solo over a chord that is for example Dorian and then throwing in a natural minor lick knowing that it will not clash... this is something that Satch and Vai are very very good at... it's a case of being very aware of your options at any given time.. it's like being an artist and knowing that you have a few extra colours available tucked away in your back pocket.. when you get them out from time to time the whole picture is transformed at a stroke...
ovation - Master Klarkagi get's off plane in Florida... wax on wax off...... zenkutsu dachi...yoi!!!.... kumite!!!.. lol...

Chinese philosiphy - man who walks with limp, runs with a hop...

crushing - note: ^7 = major 7...... so....C#m/A = A ^7, e6/a9no (no 5) = C# add11/E [so it is in 1st inv], g#sus4/+5/a = A ^7,

Dude... I've never seen a more difficult way of saying A major 7 than g#sus4/+5/a..... I want a pint of what you're drinking....
Note: don't get all upset... I'm just poking a little fun....

962 - the Astoria is a great venue... I've seen Satch. Vai and a whole bunch of others there.. it's a got great vibe... I've played there a few times myself....
The back-stage area is like a maze of stairs and corridors.. I've been lost there with 5 minutes to gig time... exactly like Spinal Tap... It was scarey at the time but real funny when I look back it....
Ga6e - I can't record CD's and the pal of mine that MP3'd all of my little shreds now live in Italy... don't worry... I'll see what I can do... I must have a pal somewhere that can record audio onto CD....
